The little secretary shivered as she looked at the terrible smile on the special investigator’s face. Investigator Venere was standing in front of a table projecting a computer hologram of the forces she had deployed as they moved towards their target. The light reflected in her golden eyes made her look a bit sinister.
“Y-Young master Augustine is a top-performing ability user, and according to what Vulpes Morsu has deduced, this research base might be aiming to test out a procedure for enhancing abilities,” Secretary Greene struggled out to explain.
Investigator Venere hummed, seemingly amused by this. “Enhancing abilities? So they are related to the cases of ability implantation? If that endangers my brother’s life, I might need to really move against the other dimwitted generals who want to turn a blind eye to this demonic thing so that I can exterminate all of them in the star system.”
Secretary Greene knew she should just shut up, but she couldn’t help and say, “Special Investigator, um, your father…”
“Who gives a fuck about him? He’ll only care once I get the credit,” Venere laughed eerily as she rubbed her hands together. “And besides, Augustine is his beloved son. He’s not going to complain.”
Within the research base, chaos ensued. Sebi rampaged through the base in a rage. Researchers remotely battled against him by using explosive guns and hostile robots, buying time for the team working on Necomir. When those didn’t work, they used bullets spiked with sedatives.
But those weren’t enough to stop him. Sebi has long lost control of himself, with his alter left taking control of his body. He had let all of his strength go, unwilling to let his guard down for just a second. He wasn’t going to show mercy on these researchers. If he did, he’s just going to lose and let them have a chance to win.
“Decebal Yan, you truly have the guts.”
The doctor that greeted him when he woke up suddenly appeared at the end of the hallway. Sebi’s furrowed his eyebrows in annoyance, knowing he only had one more hallway to pass through before he could finally see Necomir.
“Get out of the way,” Sebi said through gritted teeth as he raised his hand, but was suddenly stopped when a vibrant purple crown of light wrapped around the doctor’s forehead and some of it shot out to strike him. The attack threw him offguard, making him stumble back.
Dr. Wulandari relished in the stunned face he gives her before laughing out loud. “I don’t want to fight you, Decebal Yan. It’s hard to see who will win between us.”
Sebi narrowed his eyes as he began fighting her. He threw mental attacks towards her direction all the while trying to physically incapacitate her. Dr. Wulandari had skill, she was able to give him a good fight as she not only efficiently defends herself but also threw very powerful attacks that actually forced Sebi to fight with all he’s got. Each strike of that purple light made him dizzy whenever it landed on him successfully.

As he got closer, Sebi shifted to using his combat ability to try and push her to the ground. She anticipated his move and restrained his hands by summoning a whip to wrap it around his wrists then her other hand reached to choke him and push him to the ground.

This person was a powerful telepath with the ability to form projectiles. He couldn’t infiltrate her mind, and his telekinesis was blocked. Sebi struggled against her as she tried to restrain his limbs, probably securing him before she can do anything.
He could only think of one thing.
“Decebal Yan, we are one. You better not struggle against me if you want to rescue your precious Necomir.”
His alter really knew him the most. The real Sebi stirred inside him actively and didn’t show any restraint as it moved to cooperate with him.
Sebi closed his eyes and felt his body rush with power. He then opened it and let out a yell as he exerted his force with everything he had.
Dr. Wulandari sneered and tightened her grip on him. “What are you–”
She was shocked when the ceiling rapidly fell down in huge chunks of concrete and metal. Before she could protect herself, a huge chunk of debris hit her head and sent her falling to the side. Sebi quickly pushed her away, surrounding his body with a protective layer to keep the debris from harming him. Destroying this ceiling had made the whole structure dangerously creek, in danger of toppling over.
Sebi hurriedly went back on track and looked for Necomir. He was so close, every footstep bringing him closer until only a reinforced metal door separated them.
“Neco!” Sebi screamed anxiously as he ripped the door into shreds, blood gushing out of his mouth again in a series of coughs as his brain ached sharply. He ignored the dizziness and forced himself inside.
The doctors inside were startled as they reached out to defend themselves against him, seemingly done with the procedure. When Sebi’s eyes fell on the unconscious Necomir and his stitches, his eyesight went dark.
The next thing he knew, everything was red, and Sebi was sobbing as he tried to wake Necomir up.
“What did they do to you?” he mumbled, hands quivering as he shook him awake. “Wake up! We have to get out, you can’t be like this!”
Sebi felt his heart ache as his fingers brushed against the stitches across his bald head. He really had the urge to hunt down every single one of this inhumane researches, make them pay for Necomir and every other Terrarian they had experimented on –
A sharp click of a gun rang through the room as Sebi felt pain on his shoulder. He cried out as he lurched back, hissing as he clutched his shoulder, blood seeping through the wound. A woman with platinum blonde hair stood at the door, smiling at him calmly.
When Sebi took a good look at her face, he was shocked.
“How great, you wiped out all my colleagues,” she clicked her tongue. “You really do have the ability.”
“H-Headmaster?!” Sebi cried out, even though he knew she wasn’t the woman who raised him. They just both have very eerily similar faces that this person might as well be her.
The woman smiled. “I prefer you call me Cecilia.”
“Who are you?! Why do you look like–”
Dr. Juno’s smile deepened as she pulled the trigger. Sebi reached to stop the bullet, but to his shock, he couldn’t feel any of his ability in his body.
The bullet soared, and Sebi was only able to move enough for the bullet to hit his arm.
The pain was relentless, it immediately made Sebi want to scream in agony as he slumped against the machine behind him.
“Isn’t having no ability terrifying?” Dr. Juno jeered at his pathetic form. “I have the power to suppress any kind of ability, yet I choose to do research that will give other people abilities. But you’re here, disrespecting my good grace.”
The doctor chuckled as she aimed at Sebi again, right where his head was. “I’ll just kill you right now. Only Dr. Wulandari had any interest in you. A pity that she’s already dead, so now you have no use to me.”
There was movement right next to Sebi, but his mind was buzzing with a mix of pain and anger as he tried to keep his consciousness awake, unwilling to let those dark spots consume him.
“Kill me and let Necomir go,” Sebi hissed, not wanting to back down.
“Don’t make me laugh, you are in no position to bargain,” Dr. Juno laughed in amusement as she fired her shot with no hesitation. She really wanted him dead; although she looked calm, it was obvious that she was angry at Sebi for ruining her hardwork.
But suddenly, Sebi felt something buzzing and crackling with energy pushing him to the ground. In a flurry of movements, he saw a flash of light zoom towards Dr. Juno, who screamed as she was knocked out of the door.
Sebi was so dizzy, he felt like he was going to faint any minute as more dark spots blotted his eyesight.
Suddenly, Necomir appeared before him, his pale, panicked face right in front of him.
“Sebi!” Necomir shrieked, cradling him into his arms in order to lift him up. “You can’t close your eyes! Give me time, I will take you out of here–”
Bloody lips suddenly pressed against his, shutting Necomir up. Before he could react, Sebi had leaned back, smiling. He looked so beautiful, even when he was covered with grime and blood.
“I love you, Neco. I just wished I could love you a bit longer in this life…”
Sebi burst into tears as he shook his head, but he couldn’t keep himself awake anymore. He fell over, and all he could hear were Necomir’s screams and the sounds of the walls crumbling around them.
