Hearing that, Bai Yan’s lips curled, “Why are you always biased against Xiao Liang?”

The two of them are different tho. Liang liang doesn’t need millions of money while Yao Yao is loves to spend. Not everyone is materialistic as Yao Yao. They may be Siblings but the way they view money is different. Forcing to give Liang Liang much money when he didn’t need it is pointless. He loves living a simple and independent life. He doesn’t want to depend much on his parents unlike Yao Yao.
Whether Liang Liang will spend it or not is not the point. The point is that they’re extremely, painfully biased between the children that even a blind man can see it. It’s not about the fact as to whether or not Liang Liang lives frugally; it’s about the fact that they didn’t seem to treasure him as much. I’m particularly under the same boat as well. Parents being biased- despite us not showing a reaction- actually, deeply hurts.

My thoughts so far are:
I love the MC and the ML’s interactions. They’re so cute and adorable. It’s just a pity they couldn’t meet last time. However…I don’t really like the MC’s family, especially the sister. Aside from being a cultural thing, wouldn’t this bias be one of the reasons why the MC is so standoffish towards them? He doesn’t feel particularly close or relaxed towards them. I mean he got so tired of them, he moved out . I just feel sad. Although he is doing well, he’s not really being appreciated. I know it’s good to be strict towards your children but not to the point where even the small gestures suggest that only you are being treated differently. There was a part he said before that in that family it was “Bai Yan, Bai Yao, You ming and him is….”. For me I understood that he didn’t feel at place at his own home and he didn’t feel needed there. Also, I may dislike the sister but I can see where she got her personality from. Seriously I wouldn’t mind her being spoiled if she wasn’t so annoying towards the MC.
Anyways, I just hope they would be at the very least understanding towards him when the time comes.

The favoritism really not sitting right with me. It’s frustrating as hell to be treated differently from your siblings. Like you could argue that different cultures treat genders differently, but I find it so morally wrong as it could impact a child’s psychological state and development. If you give birth to multiple children, then they should be treated the same regardless. Bruh I’d leave this family too.

This is the most saddest chapter that I’ve read so far in this novel. I don’t like Liang Laing’s family. None of them are likable. His parents are too absorbed in their own world and his sister is too spoiled and doesn’t understand about boundaries and privacy. The characters may have been written for comedic effect but it doesn’t really work. I would understand if Liang Liang specifically said to his family that he would live his life like that but it doesn’t seem like it. It seem to me that Liang Liang is like that because of how he’s treated by his family.
