Synopsis

At eighteen years old, Lin Qingyu was married as part of a Chong Xi into the Nan’an Hou Mansion, becoming the ill Lu Wancheng’s male wife.

On the eve of their wedding, Young Master Hou lay lazily on the bed and said, “Beauty, to be honest, I really don’t want to engage in domestic struggles. I just want to drift along, eat and wait to die. I want to be a salted fish.”

A year later, Young Master Hou became gravely ill. He took Lin Qingyu’s hand and sighed, “Wife, I’m going to die, but I think I can continue to transmigrate. In order for you to properly recognize me in the future, let us set a secret code.”

After the death of Young Master Hou, Lin Qingyu was prepared to stay a widow all his life. Unexpectedly, after only half a year, the great general who had rendered outstanding military service, actually came to propose marriage.

Lin Qingyu would rather die. But the general said but one statement, “If odd, change; if even, remain the same?”

Lin Qingyu: “…I will marry you.”

After two years, the general died in battle. Before Lin Qingyu even had time to grieve, he was recruited into the palace by the Emperor.

The emperor complained aggrievedly, “Baobei, this time I have became the Emperor. My salted fish dreams have been completely shattered…”

Lin Qingyu knew that although his husband was a bag of lazybones, no one was his equal when it came to conspiracy and schemes.

He rubbed the Emperor’s head. “Don’t think about it. Get started on those reports. Behave yourself.”

  1. This sounds great, I don’t know why but I just really like novels about protagonists who can’t achieve their slacking dreams lmao

  2. Not a single one of his transmigration had it easy.. 😂

Each one of them has heavy responsibility.. 😂

  3. Sounds fun! And we have the same dream! 😆 It’s really hard wanting to be a forever salted fish. Sigh.

  4. Can’t stop myself from clicking on this everytime I see this on my recommendation only to know it has already been added to my reading list….

Can’t wait for more chapters to be translated so i can start reading it!!!

    CAMPING!! CAMPING!! CAMPING!!

  5. Ohohohooo, interesting. I wonder how the others would view Lin Qingyu considering his remarriage thrice.

And pfft, say goodbye to your salted dreams, ML.Looking forward to this new story!

  6. Hello, I can have your permission for translate into portuguese? I will give due credit. Thanks for the translation.

  7. Novela nueva. Realmente me gustó . ¿Puedo tener su permiso para traducir al español? Te daré el crédito correspondiente.

    Gracias por compartir la traducción.

  8. I’m stocking chapters but… the amount of shadenfreude in the comments directed at the salted fish dreams is just 😂😂😂😂. If I can’t be a salted fish, neither can you!

  9. Can you please explain the trigonometry? I’m a little interested because how did they come up with that was the secret code 😅

    • I really want to answer this, but idk if I can successfully convey the knowledge… Sorry, this might be a little long 😅

I’ll attempt it with an example: sin(5π/2+π/6)=cos(π/6). If the angle inside a trigonometric function can be broken down into two parts where one of the parts is a multiplication of 90° or π/2, then if the multiplying number is odd, then you must change the given trigonometric function according to this list: sin🔄cos, tan🔄cot and sec🔄cosec. But if the multiplying number is even then the given trigonometric function must remain unchanged. That’s why the author said, “if odd, change. If even, remain the same.”

Irdk if you understood anything, I’m notoriously bad at explaining stuff, sorry

      • It was a valiant effort and much appreciated. My limited brain cells couldn’t make head or tails of it but that’s not your fault. That my trig teacher’s fault. But I am very, very glad that someone understands it and that I correctly understood the original text. (There was always that possibly that I got it wrong because I didn’t really understand it.) orz

        • Trig is absolutely awful if you don’t understand it. My sympathies. I’m also glad you understood the original text correctly. Thank you so much for translating this interesting novel! (´∩。• ᵕ •。∩) (´∩。• ᵕ •。∩)

  10. Wow, I like this novel….

So interesting, this is the first time i find the male lead has this personality… So lazyy

  11. Hello sleepy! Thank you for your effort in translating this novel. I wanted to ask if I can get your permission to re-translate it into Spanish language? I will leave your credits. Okay, whatever your answer is 🍵✨

  12. Lmfao this sounds hilarious… I’m camping~

Good luck to the ML cuz I support his salted fish dreams

  13. Hi. I really like this story, and your translation is great. Could I get the authorisation to translate into French? I have already translated some historical danmei novels like peerless and devil venerable also wants to know. I will of course give your reference. many thanks !

  14. Waiting a few years was worth it (つ✧ω✧)つ Now, time to binge read!! ヾ(’O’)/

  15. Hiii, I’m a freelance Spanish translator with one other friend. Currently Wattpad deleted a translation of the novel “Married thrice to salted fish”. The translator of that novel said she didn’t know if she was coming back or not, she needed time. So I wanted to ask if I could please translate it to Spanish on Wattpad and what are the requirements. Thank you very much in advance and have a nice day. 💕

    • I feel so bad replying so late. Sure, go ahead. So long as the original retranslator’s fine with it. I don’t really keep track on who does retranslations…so, I don’t really have any requirements aside from please also see the original Chinese version because there might be ways to translate this in your language that is closer to the original. Thanks!

  16. This will probably come in my top 20 books where I actually finished reading and ACTUALLY enjoyed the journey!!💙
