After reading about these disgusting gongs in more detail, I’m honestly extremely puzzled as to why cn readers would want the MC to choose ANY of them. Honestly, I’m hoping that this story will go down the well-trodden dogblood route of ‘he realised he loved the substitute more than the original after he’s already lost him’, like most of the stories in this genre tend to go. From the MC’s mission, it sounds like a gong having emotional journey won’t prevent him from fulfilling the plot so long as all the plot points are met.
Oh and I’m super sus about Qin Qing himself. I have this weird (groundless, mind you) suspicion that the man at the end may be him.
