Yes, I was grateful for author’s mercy. It is one thing if he is unnamed, mob character. But he is named, talked and grow on reader’s heart for the past couple of chapters. What happened was horrible but the fact he is 16 at the time offer us some solace. I think he is stuck in the idea of being 8 years old is because before 8 years old he is still the naive boy that can dream to be Xuan Luo’s wife. Sigh.
Funny fact, I finished LMW like 3/4 years ago. My first ever BL xianxia that I followed half way through for updates and the reason I avoided ongoing long project like a plague 😅. Then, one of my old comments in EXR got replies that spiralled into discussion leading to this work (it is about how studious Momo is with making pills, then they said Henhen is better, he only becomes studious with motivation to make money through pills!). I finally decided to try it after seeing it got 7++chapters and near completion (I don’t like that feeling of being disconnected with world I immersed in while waiting for updates lol. Just one LMW is enough 😆). And yesss, I had read QWFOD, DTMT, and many others quick transmigration too. Face slapping really is enjoyable to read. Have you read War Prisoner? It is a good read to torment your heart and soul 😂. I mean it is a book for M people I guess. Author tormented both protagonists, only giving candies at the end.
16 is still a child though (maybe I’m just old but for me that’s still a kid). I guess technically it would have been worse for an 8 year old but it isn’t much better for a poor teenager to have suffered such a death. It’s depressing regardless. 🙁
