Don't Pick Up Boyfriends From the Trash BinCh142 - Raising a Big Cat in the Apocalypse (21)

When Chi Xiaochi woke up again, his body felt a lot more relaxed, and his head didn’t feel very dizzy anymore. K530bJ

He lifted up his wrist to look at his watch and discovered that he’d slept for at least two hours.

He turned over, wanting to continue sleeping for a while, but unexpectedly, he saw an upright figure wandering around outside his tent. It was like they wanted to come in, but their actions were quite sneaky.

Please visit chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

Chi Xiaochi acted as though he didn’t know anything and closed his eyes, faking slumber.

The tent flap was lifted up and the incoming footsteps were almost inaudible as someone slowly crept close to his sleeping bag. GPRuFl

Chi Xiaochi seized the right timing and pulled down on the other party’s shoulder. He made a sharp flip, wanting to press the other party under his elbow.

However, the other side’s strength went far beyond what he’d imagined. They rolled on the spot and flipped Chi Xiaochi around, pressing him to the ground.

A familiar breath and wave of heat swept over him, causing Chi Xiaochi to freeze in surprise.

He’d thought that it was someone from the slave town who wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to assassinate him, or maybe it was a team member who wanted to give him a scare. Unexpectedly it was his own Boss who’d run out to play.

AbndUY

However, just now, it had clearly been a human’s figure outside the tent.

… Could it be that he’d gotten it wrong?

Chi Xiaochi didn’t think about it deeply and simply treated it like his own mistake. He held onto Boss’s face and rubbed against it. “Little bastard, you gave me a scare.”

Boss lay on his body, its forehead pressed against his. It even used the hot tip of its tongue to lick at his ears. ph5bFW

Chi Xiaochi was amused by its licking.

While Chi Xiaochi was still playing around with Boss, 061 let out a small cough in his brain, “Xiaochi, something happened.”

He explained briefly about how a stranger had come in while Chi Xiaochi was sleeping and ended up facing off with Gu Xinzhi.

Chi Xiaochi pillowed one hand behind the back of his head. “Gu Xinzhi came in?” ASuhDz

061: “Yes.”

Chi Xiaochi continued asking, “And a stranger came in before he did?”

061: “…… Yes.”

Chi Xiaochi laughed. “A stranger came in, but you didn’t wake me up?” wS3juV

061 sighed. “… Fine, that person was me.”

061 really wanted to tell the truth, but he was unable to say anything under the restrictions of the confidentiality system.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

What could he say?

Say that he’d kissed Xiaochi? In that case, how was he supposed to then explain his feelings for Xiaochi? Q4DnMo

Under all sorts of helplessness, 061 could only grit his teeth and lie, “At the time, your fever was burning a little fiercely, so I was applying some rubbing alcohol on your skin. When he came in, he saw me holding your hand.”

Chi Xiaochi raised his hand and sniffed. There was indeed the scent of alcohol on his palm.

He asked, “Did you win?”

061 answered, “Yes, I won.” RfIbln

“Did you clear his memory with an amnesia card?”

061: “Yes.”

Chi Xiaochi had only just taken a step in his direction when he turned his head back. The afterglow from the sun fell on his face, revealing his pale face and a nose that was covered densely with beads of sweat.

There was a very obvious bruise at the corner of his mouth, and he’d broken the skin of the corner of his lips with his teeth. The blood had dried up a long time ago, forming a shocking bloody scab on his lips.

When he saw this, Chi Xiaochi said, “Liu-laoshi, how fierce, you shouldn’t hit people’s faces when beating them up.”

061’s tone was mild, “I was forced by the situation.” A1chrT

061 summed it up quite objectively.

At the time, Gu Xinzhi, who’d seen everything, had almost pulled off the entire flap of the tent, his body shaking violently as he barely managed to control his mood. He used his gaze to indicate that 061 needed to immediately get the hell out of the tent.

061 had no other way and could only gently kiss Chi Xiaochi’s hair, pull up his sleeping bag for him, then stand up, pushing up the sleeves of both arms up to the elbow as he bowed his head to walk out of the tent.

The two of them then arrived at a secluded place far away from the tent. They didn’t even ask any extratraneous questions about the other party’s identity before directly starting to attack each other. 0BobZs

Gu Xinzhi was a master fighter, and it was difficult to find opportunities to attack him. He was also extremely frenzied with his attacks, and 061 could only try to find a flaw to take advantage of. Although he’d ended up fighting with this snake-like opponent for far too long, it was good that he’d managed to walk away without any injuries.

However, he didn’t feel much guilt about the results of the fight.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

061 had felt unhappy about Gu Xinzhi for a long time.

He didn’t like it when others watched Chi Xiaochi so obsessively. It wasn’t acceptable, even if he was very clear on who Gu Xinzhi was really looking at. YElbxV

Boss wound itself around Chi Xiaochi’s leg, lifting its head to look at him. Its gaze was very alert, as though warning him not to get too close to Gu Xinzhi.

Chi Xiaochi caressed the top of its head and raised his voice, “Vice-captain Gu.”

Gu Xinzhi pressed against the injured corner of his mouth with his thumb. Not only did he remain silent and not answer, he even turned his head back the other way.

Chi Xiaochi noticed his reaction and kept feeling that something wasn’t quite right. D9IqOJ

The two people were too quiet. Occasionally, there would be the tinkling sound of liquid landing, like a bout of rain had just passed, and the air was filled with an ominous feel. Any of their teammates who passed by also felt that the atmosphere between the two men was strange, and they all detoured around them in order to avoid causing trouble.

Chi Xiaochi didn’t intend to continue this standoff with Gu Xinzhi; going back to play a card game for a while was a better option.

He shrugged his shoulders and had just turned to go back into the tent when he heard Gu Xinzhi’s stifled voice ring out from behind him, “…… Wait a minute.”

Chi Xiaochi stood still. vr59CN

The two of them stood with their backs to each other.

Gu Xinzhi fell silent for a moment, then asked, “… Who is he?”

Chi Xiaochi was a little confused. “Who?”

Gu Xinzhi pushed himself off the ground with one hand, standing up to face Chi Xiaochi. “Just now, there was a man in your tent.” ITUdas

Chi Xiaochi: “……”

061 was also startled.

He said disbelievingly, “I clearly used an amnesia card on him…”

However, after Chi Xiaochi and the system turned back and took in Gu Xinzhi’s full appearance, they understood what had happened. zIZ93a

Chi Xiaochi: “……” Oh, ho.

The amnesia card and the hypnosis cards were similar in that they both hypnotized the target in an instant. The card would then work to erase the memory data while the target’s spirit was unsuspecting.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

However, the amnesia card hadn’t worked on Gu Xinzhi.

The left sleeve of his shirt was stained with blood, and blood was still dripping down his cuffs. upvWc

The sound of water dripping just now hadn’t been an illusion. It had come from his body.

––This man’s will and dignity were almost perversely strong. After fighting with 061, he’d thought that that moment of dizziness had been caused due to the other side hitting him, and he hadn’t hesitated to stab a knife into his own left arm even before the hypnotic effect could kick in completely.

The blade had directly pierced through his arm.

Then, he’d sat in front of Ding Qiuyun’s tent, waiting for him to wake up and wanting an explanation. o73nhA

Gu Xinzhi saw that Ding Qiuyun stood across from him silently and took a few steps forward. A faint red flush appeared on his cheeks that were pale from losing too much blood. “Ding Qiuyun!”

This was the first time in days that he’d displayed any mood swings that were noticeably out of control.

Chi Xiaochi came back to his senses, smiled shallowly, and pulled out a box of cigarettes from his pocket.

Ding Qiuyun didn’t smoke, and he himself had quit a long time ago, but he’d developed the habit of keeping cigarettes with him. One reason was for his teammates, and the other was to quickly get close with people he wanted to make friends with. 6ClWp7

He pulled out a cigarette with his teeth, caught it in his fingers, and lit it up, then held it up to the side of Gu Xinzhi’s mouth.

Gu Xinzhi turned his head away, a hint of madness flashing across his eyes. “Ding Qiuyun, make things clear.”

061 felt a little anxious as he noticed the subtle change in Gu Xinzhi’s expression.

“What should I say?” Chi Xiaochi’s mental state was very calm. He toyed with the cigarette, smiling as he asked, “What is there to talk about with you?” iKdF35

“––Ding Qiuyun!”

The tip of the cigarette glowed with a dark red light and sent out the sizzling sound of something burning.

Chi Xiaochi smiled a calm, bold smile, flipped the cigarette in his fingers, then raised his hand and pinched his hand around the front of Gu Xinzhi’s neck. The pads of his fingers scraped slowly across his throat as he asked softly, “Gu Xinzhi, you’re the one who said you wanted to be my gun. That’s why I kept you. Have I ever said that you’re allowed to damage yourself?”

Gu Xinzhi’s expression changed slightly. He awkwardly tried to hide his injured right arm behind him. 7I2oj5

Chi Xiaochi didn’t give him any opportunity to hide. He pulled his blood soaked arm out and forced him to take a good look at it. “Poor form. I’m deducting five points.”

Gu Xinzhi: “……”

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

061: “… Since when was there a points system?”

Chi Xiaochi replied to 061, “It started now.” Foy5Gt

He then spoke to Gu Xinzhi, “If a full 100 points are deducted, then you’ll have ‘graduated’ with me. When the time comes, you can go wherever you want, and I won’t need a gun like you.”

Gu Xinzhi gritted his teeth tightly.

Before he saw the strange man kissing Ding Qiuyun, he’d never thought that Ding Qiuyun would really not want him and desire to be with another person.

In his dreams that spanned over a hundred years, Ding Qiuyun had always been his. He’d watched Qiuyun die countless times in front of him, and the only consolation he’d felt was that Qiuyun wouldn’t be obtained by anyone else. 4IbSWA

Now, even if he would no longer cook okra for him to eat, even if he would no longer draw a thick stack of cartoons for him on his cigarette boxes, and even if he would never leave the back seat of the car empty for him, Gu Xinzhi felt that he could still bear it.

For no other reason other than because he was still a unique existence to Ding Qiuyun.

Now, his dream had been shattered by that kiss that had been as light as feathered wings.

Ever since he’d stabbed his knife into his arm, Gu Xinzhi had been thinking about how good it would be if he could kill that man. 2ojQ9g

But, he’d lost for the first time in his life, and it was a tragic defeat where the other side had retreated easily.

That strange man hadn’t used any fancy skills or weapons. He’d simply flashed away, stepped back, then attacked again, his movements silent and precise like a high-precision combat machine.

When he’d fallen to the ground, Gu Xinzhi had been trembling. It wasn’t because of the shame of being defeated by a stranger that he’d never met before, but because he’d realized in horror that even if he wasn’t there, Ding Qiuyun might have a gun that was better than he was.

This had been a blow that struck him like a bolt of thunder. 0tDKvn

There had never once been a time where Gu Xinzhi sensed so clearly that Ding Qiuyun might completely and thoroughly belong to another person.

Countless malicious thoughts in his heart swirled together like a whirlpool forming into a myriad of sharp blades that left him feeling both pain and loss.

… He was clearly trying very hard, but why was he still pushing Qiuyun further and further away?

How exactly had things turned out this way? kSG73y

On the display screen in front of Chi Xiaochi’s eyes, Gu Xinzhi’s regret value broke through 20, 30, and only came to a stop when it hovered at the edge of 40.

Gu Xinzhi stood in front of him with his head bowed, covering his right arm, the rims of his eyes red from holding back.

He spoke in a whisper, “Qiuyun.”

The person in front of him raised his eyebrows and waited for his next words. lcOLvz

His voice was low like he was sleepwalking, “Don’t push me like this. Okay? There’s nothing I won’t do.”

Chi Xiaochi laughed shortly. “What will you do? Kill him? Kill me? Or suicide?”

Gu Xinzhi felt so terrible as if he was hovering between life and death. It didn’t show on his face, but he was already unable to hear the other party’s voice clearly. Even so, he caught onto one particular phrase and immediately gave a positive answer, “… I won’t kill you.”

He’d never wanted to have Ding Qiuyun die. ljGSoA

During those dreams that spanned a hundred years, he’d never once thought of killing him.

Chi Xiaochi seized this opportunity to speak first, and he naturally wouldn’t let him continue. He continued to press the topic, “If you could kill that person from just now, you would’ve killed him long ago. So, are you going to commit suicide?”

Gu Xinzhi remained silent.

“That’s really a genius idea. Wouldn’t it be pleasant using your death to make a statement?” Chi Xiaochi turned around and lifted up the tent flap, saying coldly, “It would be best if you hung yourself to death at the entrance of my tent early tomorrow and clear your score with me. If you die at 9AM, then I’ll go find someone new by 9:30.” b9hfFj

After getting into the tent, Chi Xiaochi exhaled quietly.

It hadn’t shown on his face, but in fact, he’d felt a burst of cold sweat on his back.

Dealing with people who were as dark and uncertain as Gu Xinzhi really took too much effort.

No one knew what a madman would do next, so Chi Xiaochi could only make a bet and gamble on his feelings for Ding Qiuyun, hoping that it was enough to suppress his crazy, pernicious nature. d817yr

Even now, he still didn’t know if he’d won.

“…… Qingyun.”

After half a minute, Gu Xinzhi made a sound from outside his tent.

“I… I want to be here with you. I won’t go in. Will you deduct points?” OsjCz0

Chi Xiaochi quietly let out another exhale.

Fortunately, it had been a success this time.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Gu Xinzhi waited nervously outside the tent for a few seconds. Suddenly, something flew out from inside the tent. He caught it with his left hand, then steadied himself and looked at it. His expression relaxed significantly.

It was a simple medical box. OTN0Dd

Ding Qiuyun’s voice came from inside the tent, “Self-maintenance.”

Gu Xinzhi froze for a moment, a flash of joy appearing in his eyes. He sat down near the entrance to the tent, but didn’t wrap his wound. He held the medicine box tightly against him with one hand, pillowing his head on it, and closed his eyes as he silently reminisced over the sweetness from the bottom of his heart until he was filled with joy.

xiin: yep, it’s confirmed. i feel a little bad for Gu Xinzhi.

  1. For people who are feeling bad for Gu Xinzhi:

Why are you guys feeling bad for him? He’s literally a self-centered trash! He thought that Ding Ding belonged to him all this time! And that he’s ‘special to him! If the trash really felt bad, his regret point would be much higher. Not to mention that it only increased because he regretted getting further from Ding Ding, not you know, killing all his friends and comrades in their last life.

    • I’m feeling bad for him bcz he’s a psycho. He doesn’t think like you and me.

Also bcz I have normal human feelings and will feel bad when seeing or reading about someone suffering. It doesn’t matter if the “someone” is good or bad…

      • And this is why CXC commented that it was easy for other system players to stay behind in worlds. Because when you weren’t the one suffering as a victim, it would be much easier to forgive the perpetrator and act righteous when really, you have no right. I also can’t help but feel a little sorry for Gu Xinzhi but tbh he gives me chills. He just tried to kill 069 because he was with CXC. If he had succeeded, none of you would feel pity for him right now.

        • Feeling pity for someone doesn’t automatically mean forgiveness, as Mad_Queen says its just pity for a person who is hurting which is natural to feel. Also its when you stop feeling this tht ur justice turns to scorn. And since we are all on a moral high road

(T_T) none of us would have survived this system. Also, it’s not only because the other system players couldn’t see their hosts suffering, some of them stayed because they develop a sense of ‘superiorty’ and enjoyed that feeling of ‘power’ or fascination with a world different from their own ie tht player who was a low level government official in his own world but took over the body of an emperor

          • +1

I feel bad for him because like Mad Queen said – he’s a psycho. It’s not 100% innate – part of it should be due to biological factors, but maybe his condition wouldn’t have been so severe if he’d had a decent childhood with parents who took the time and made the effort to help him understand empathy. Either way, his brain literally doesn’t work the same way other people’s do. So he’s crazy, not evil.

But feeling pity for an insane person doesn’t mean you think any or all of their behaviour due to their mental condition is excusable. If they’re a danger to others, they absolutely CANNOT be allowed to walk around freely when they’re going to/have been hurting innocent people.

Feeling pity for them is because being crazy isn’t their fault. They never really had a chance of being a normal person, and whatever suffering they went through only reinforced their twisted thinking patterns and solidified their future behaviour. And that’s not a bad thing. It’s normal to feel sorry for someone who was never given a chance – as long as you don’t use that pity to try to absolve them of the responsibility of hurting innocent people. Whether they truly understand what they did wrong or not, there are consequences. Even wild animals that attack/kill humans are usually put down to prevent them from becoming a danger to others in the future, despite not having the capacity to understand. The difference is that with people, if a person doesn’t have the capacity to understand, rather than being punished and rehabilitated, they need to be institutionalized in order to ensure they don’t harm others again. Because it’s simply not possible to rehabilitate someone who doesn’t have the capacity to understand what they did wrong. But they also shouldn’t be punished for it. They only get sent to an institution in order to keep other people safe; not as punishment. It’s giving them mercy in light of their disabilities without risking the safety of the rest of society.

  2. Gu Xinzhi has some serious psychological problems, people like him shouldn’t be in a relationships until they fix them. Anyways I can’t feel sorry for him.

    Thank you for the chapter

  3. I feel pity for Gu Xinzhi. But it also makes me wanna make him feel worse. I am a gong-abuse lover after all. Watching yandere gongs being abused makes me satisfied. If his past life deeds were elaborated upon, I’m sure I won’t feel that little amount of pity at all.

    Thanks for the chapter!

    • Mmmm… I suppose I also feel something like pity towards GXZ, but it’s really normal I think. Outside of a relationship, we can say whatever we want about the abused person, condemning them and not abuser bcs he or she is so stupid to not walk away from all the abuse.

But until it hits you, you cannot for the life on you emphatize with an abused person. Yeah, for some people it’s easy to stay away from toxicity, but from other it’s hard to understand that there’s some people who don’t have a way back. It’s hard to give up on someone like this bcs they made their way through your mind and twist it all.

So yeah, I can feel pity towards GXZ bcs I see him as someone crazy. And at the same time, I don’t want for the life in me see DQY ending up with him. GXZ is not in love, he’s obsessed. Just that.

  4. chews bubble gum

    blows bubble

    clears throat

This is the second scum character I’ve felt sorry for in all my reading history

  5. I’m… Conflicted. Yanderes always mess with me, because they are genuine about their feelings. DQ is honestly the most important thing for GX, I can’t wholeheartedly condemn him because of this….if he just weren’t a psycho, he would be a great lover, I think

  6. Idk how ya’ll can feel bad for him. He feels so no regret for his actions in his past life. Just regret that the one he loves no longer cares for him and will no longer be with him. There’s no reason to feel sorry, yes he’s absolutely obsessed with Ding Qiuyun, and gets hally at the slightest compassion, so? He doesn’t deserve any of that compassion in my opinion, what Ding Qiuyun went through should not be forgiven bc he feels a little sad and gets happy for receiving a medical box.

Anyway that’s my opinion maybe I’m missing something that makes everyone feel bad.

    • It isn’t that anyone approves of GXZ, we just pity him. He’s a psychopath. Literally. He’s mentally ill, and even though his actions can’t be excused, he also can’t be blamed for them on a really personal level. It’s the same reason why we don’t put crazy people in jail, or why you can be declared mentally unfit to even stand trail. We still lock them away when they do bad things, but we put them in psychiatric hospitals. With doctors and medication and therapy, because even if they can never be set free, it isn’t right to treat them like a normal person who is just evil. Evil people make choices, but the mentally unwell are not even capable of understanding those choices the same way we do.

It’s ok to hate him, he is pretty terrible, but I personally pity him because even though he IS a psychopath, he has genuine feelings for DQY and the “mental torture therapy” is actually working to make a difference in his behavior. If he can be taught to control himself, he isn’t beyond all hope. And that means that even if those feelings are twisted through the lens of a broken mind, they’re actually REAL, which is so rare and precious for someone like him. I want him to suffer, but not just for the sake of suffering, for punishment. I want him to be better than he was.

    • I pity him because he definitely has mental isssues but that doesnt mean I agreed with what he is doing. I hate what he did with DQY and his team. I feel that CXC is trying to fix him for DQY so i have hopes that GX will get better.

For me, not everything is Black and White.

  7. 061 did a good job, that damn regret points finally increased a bit. I wonder how much longer CXC will have to stay there, GXZ hurry up and finally start regretting your ass off >___> (But I’ll miss boss when the time comes xDD)

    Thx for the ch (ㅅ˘ㅂ˘)

  8. thanks for the chapter! ♡

one benefit to falling asleep in the middle of rereading the last chapter to jog your memory is the comments that have already accumulated! and my opinion about this subject is…

everyone here is 100% correct! yes, your opinions are conflicting! but you’re all correct!

no one is completely and entirely good points, and no one is completely and entirely bad points. even mary sues have the bad point of sucking the soul out of a setting and the other characters who inhabit it.

gu xinzhi’s love is genuine, but he uses it to justify many bad actions. he does many bad things either because he believes they are necessary for his love, or because he thinks his love can excuse the deeds.

    • wait! i wasn’t done! how did that happen!

“desperate times call for desperate measures” compared to “ends justify the means”

i personally am veering towards not pitying gu xinzhi. how will i convince you to come to my side? well, friends, murder is risky! you can KO your opponent once and for all, but there’s a huge risk you will get morally KO’d yourself. although the “huge” risk is affected by the setting (apocalyptic here), more pitiable yanderes would still see that there’s not much of a reward in brutally murdering strangers who simply happen to obstruct the target of affection’s way.

  9. I can see why surnamed Gu is like this, and compared to the other scums, I feel that he’s had it quite hard… But I can’t wrap my mind around how, after killing everyone Ding Qiuyun held dear, he felt that Qiuyun should be happy? Thankful? Full of love and dependence? Though that probably comes from his lack of understanding towards human nature.

„You’re beautiful, but hollow. One could never die for you.“

Also, great that 061 and Xiaochi can act lovers~ 061 teasing Xiaochi and getting teased back, or the other way around, also makes my heart sweet. How good for them! 😊

  10. Okay okay. I’m not trying to force a change on anyone’s opinions here, but let me just say one thing.

You have to take into consideration the fact that there really are people out there who has an exact representation of Gu Xinzhi’s personality, okay? Why, do you ask, is he like this? It could be based on 2 factors. One factor is that he grew up in an environment that twisted him to be like this. Second might be because he was just born this way? There’s literally a biological/genetic link between parents and their children for temperaments and such IRL, okay? People inherit a big chunk of their parents’ personalities. I’m dumb so I may be wrong, but gurl search it and find out if it’s true. I’m too busy typing out my rants.

I’m not quite sure about this since it’s been a while, but wasn’t it mentioned before that he grew up totally neglected and kept to himself most of the time in his household when he was a child? (Correct me if I’m wrong, but if in any case this is true, feel free to read the following sentences lol). Are you all just gonna ignore this? I know real well that I’m literally a useless empathetic fool, but do you all not have at a tiny bit of sympathy towards him? He grew up feding for himself alone. THERE was NO ONE to TEACH him how to be considerate and take care of others because he was too busy focusing on himself to survive.

I’m not saying that his actions of killing Ding Qiuyun’s friends are justified just because he wanted to have Qiuyun all to himself, that is clearly against the moral rules of our society. But think of it like this. If his actions look extremely wrong to us, could you say that it was the same for him?

It literally said that he thought nothing wrong of what he did to Qiuyun’s friends. Like literally. Was he aware that it was wrong? Of course not!

Again, it’s because NO ONE TAUGHT HIM!!! Qiuyun gave and taught him what love is for another person. However, was Qiuyun also supposed to teach him how to treat others like he treats Qiuyun? Impossible. Because Qiuyun wasn’t aware that Gu Xinzhi’s personality was like this.

Anyway, I said what I said. I feel bad for Gu Xinzhi more or less since he’s literally not aware of the consequences of his actions, but it’s all up to you to believe what you think. phew wipes sweat

Thank for the translation! Keep up the good work! Stay safe and healthy! <3

    • I feel the same. It is his growth environment that made him like this. He really did wrong killing DQY’s team but as a person with psycological issue i bet he didnt understand it. For him DQY is the only person important to him and everyone else doesnt matter which is morally wrong.

Knowing he has mental issues, i cant judge him black or white.

  11. “061 had no other way and could only gently kiss Chi Xiaochi’s hair, pull up his sleeping bag for him, then stand up, pushing up the sleeves of both arms up to the elbow as he bowed his head to walk out of the tent.”

Hello. The puddle on the ground is my melted heart. Please take care not to step on it 🙂.

  12. Yeah, i feel bad for him too. He definitely has mental issues but i think he just need someone to guide him to be better.

    Thanks for the chapter

  13. How many more chapters are there in this arc?

It is making me feel things i shouldn’t for the scum

    😣😣😣

    Thx for the chappy

  14. Aish I feel so conflicted now ah…. Well anyways I’ll see how it goes… But aiyo it would be a lie to say that I wasn’t softened in the least by Gu Xinzhi, which makes things even more complicated (╯ರ ~ ರ)╯︵ ┻━┻

Thank you for the chapter~ 💞✨

  15. aaaaah! Gu Xinzhi, stop making me feel sympathy for you! It’s like punishing a cute puppy who’s also a psychopath and a murderer. You can tell GX still cares for Ding Qiuyun, he’s just too messed up to ever be healthy to love. i hope we’ll see some happy character development for GX…

  16. I do feel bad for Gu Xinzhi. Why? Because his feelings are “real”, DQ really means a lot for him and he is doomed because of his choices (and malicious heart). He is self-sabotaging because he is unable to separate his feelings from his malicious heart intentions. And yeah, he doesn’t regret what he did to QD friends before probably because he believe he did that for DQ’s safety and he would probably not regret doing something to keep him safe. So, yeah, I feel bad for his innocent feelings attached to his malicious heart, probably the result of a shit childhood and that he never learned thing right.

I wonder how MC would turn out if he didn’t have Lou-ge with him. Would he still be alive? Would he grow up making a lot of bad decisions?

  17. “Even now, he still didn’t know if he’d won.

    ‘…… Qingyun.’

After half a minute, Gu Xinzhi made a sound from outside his tent.”

I was catching up to the latest chapter and found out that, sometimes, Ding Qiuyun’s name becomes Qingyun. Curiously, every time it happens, it’s when Gu Xinzhi is either calling out to him, or thinking about him. 🤭🤭

I combed through all chapters in this arc and: there’s one Qingyun in this chapter, one in ch. 140.1, two in 138.1, one in 137.2, and a last one in 137.1.

Thank you very much for your translations!!

  18. If 061 had not been able to flash away and had worlds of fighting experience, Gu Xinzhi would have killed him for kissing CXC. I have a modicum of pity that he’s ill. But there is no trust. He can’t be where there are children and old people and the vulnerable. CXC said he would leave it up to Ding unless it became necessary to end GXZ. Ding should kill him before he does the unthinkable…

  19. I really can’t pity him at all. If I do that, I’ll soften and then my bottom line will be affected. I know he’s mentally ill and that’s exactly why I can’t. If I start to pity him, the next thing I know I’ll keep lowering my bottom line for him.

It may be just me but that’s how I feel about it. If you dare say or ask how it’s all connected, I’m just really a soft persimmon, really easily bullied by some people.🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🥺

  20. to people who feel bad for Gu Xinzhi,

this is exactly what our Xiaochi said in the omegaverse arc (4th arc); when u feel like u can fix this person u tend to forget what they are actually capable of doing. here, this psycho is feeling bad only coz Ding is becoming more distant from him 눈눈 let’s face it, even in real life people fight to the point of no return on basic incidents (¬¬ “) he literally killed Ding’s teammates in the name of “protecting him from the AI” but we all know he is too much obsessed and hates “sharing” with others. he is too unpredictable – one second u feel he will turn out alright only to realize in the next moment and feel like a clown ^-^

so yeah, i don’t like him… AND STOP INTERRUPTING THE VERY FEW MOMENTS OUR LIU-LAOSHI GETS WITH HIS XIAOCHI (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻

    • Can you all…. please stop telling / criticising how other people feels? It’s fine if you don’t feel the same way but why are you policing other ppls feelings? Also pity doesn’t automatically equal “we can fix him/her”. Sometimes it’s just sadness of knowing a person past and realising this is how they ended up. It has nothing to do with forgiving or second chances either

  21. I don’t feel like “look he’s not bad, I’m feeling sad, so don’t be like that” to him but still i’m feeling bad because he really is not aware of such things as feeling empathetic towards every person even if it’s not your lover. Don’t you think that he really kinda looks like an animal?Cause he’s thinking that Qiuyun is his person and being overprotective towards him and he thinks that as long as his person is alive nothing and no one matters and he was being alert whenever Qiuyun got close with someone cause he was thinking that his person is only belong to him

But ofc we can’t say he is innocent just because he doesn’t know much about being a human since being inhumane is the problem of every criminals whether they are aware or not

  22. Tried my best to pity Gu dude.. But what I mostly felt was wariness towards him.. He has no remorse for his past actions, except Qingyun’s death.. If given an opportunity, he seems like he could revert back to his previous nature..

  23. I feel bad for Gu Xinzhi for one simple reason:

He’s like this cause he doesn’t know better. There was no one to raise him or show him better, and hence he adapted from his environment and became crooked. He said earlier he’s learned to be like this cause that’s what his mum and dad taught him.

I’m not defending him, but as a psychologist, I tend to over-empathize, read and understand individuals.

Yes, the reason for his regret is wrong, but as I said, he can’t be blamed to an extent. I

He is still available, unlike some other gongs.

  24. The only reason why I kind of feel bad for Gu Xinzhi is because he seems to genuinely love Ding Qiuyun. He really does seem to, but because he’s a psychotic, obsessive, and murderous pice of shit, he ended up ruining the relationship. (;´д`)=3・・

  25. The only reason I feel a minuscule amount of bad for Mr. Gu is because he’s clearly a Sociopath so he doesn’t really understand feelings. The strongest he feels is jealousy and obsession. So, I can’t really fault him on the way his brain works, and if he wasn’t part of the task I would feel even worse on the way he’s being treated but since he is needed for his regret points… we’re kind of on a time crunch so let the little Masochist enjoy being stepped on by his obsession.

  26. The comment system doesn’t seem to allow for replies past a certain number of chains but for whoever needs to hear this (DeiStarr specifically), “evil” isn’t something people ARE, but something people DO. Labeling certain people as “evil” (and thus irredeemable) and exempting others who do the same because they’re “crazy” is just a different kind of ableism, suggesting they can’t be held morally accountable for their actions because of their mental illness. (And anyway, WHO does that leave in the “evil” category? No one who commits crimes against humanity has a working sense of empathy! What a useless system.) Gu Xinzhi is a fully competent adult who made his own choices–not for survival, but according to his own calculations of what would be beneficial for him–and those choices were evil. Any pity felt over the fact that “””he couldn’t help it””” is just ego-boosting wank over how ~empathetic and understanding~ you are.
    • Seriously, sociopaths/psychopaths (not a real psychological term, by the way) aren’t BABIES. They know the things they want to do are considered wrong by society and hurtful to others, and most of the people we’d label as such live more or less functional, “normal” lives because they recognize that it’s in their best interest to blend into society and just be thought of as run-of-the-mill assholes or regular CEOs instead of going to maximum security. They aren’t schizophrenic, they have the capacity to make their own reasoned decisions.

  27. HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHGFAGDFAHAHAHAHA AAHAHAHAHA- ahhahfhafheheheahehh.. .j jsfm . hrhrehehyhhuhhehagaghhja///. at this point he’d be happy even if you gstabbed as long as you gave him attention heahahahahehehe

  28. He’s a possessive madman. No matter how repentant he might act, he still views DQY as something that is exclusively his. He still hasn’t learned anything from those dreams.
