Xie Luyu first kissed Gu Qingchi’s forehead. He then quietly whispered good night and went to sleep with the other in his arms.
On the next day, Xie Luyu woke up first. Gu Qingchi was still sleeping. Xie Luyu was conflicted about whether or not to wake up Gu Qingchi. However, in the end, he didn’t. Gu Qingchi had this thing where, if he didn’t sleep his fill, he wouldn’t have any energy or any appetite.
Xie Luyu simply waited for Gu Qingchi to wake up on his own. He didn’t have anything better to do, so he propped his head up with his arm and watched Gu Qingchi. His affection simply grew the more he looked at him and couldn’t help but kiss him again.
Gu Qingchi suddenly giggled with his eyes closed. He nudged his hand against Xie Luyu’s.
“It’s itchy. Is this Woofie?”
Xie Luyu knew that Gu Qingchi’s family raised a puppy named Woofie. He also knew that Gu Qingchi’s brother had come up with the name. Xie Luyu laughed along with Gu Qingchi.
“Why didn’t you say anything when you woke up? Are you hungry? It’s almost past breakfast time.”

It’s not the sequel, it’s about if Gu Qingchi wasn’t transported to the parallel world (the main story) if I understood correctly.
So Xie luyu is the core of the universe like a god and the universe will collapse if he as the core of the universe collapse? And the thing that would only make him collapse is the death of gu qingchi? And then when time rewinded it’s like a story rewriting itself or a painting being painted again and Gu qingchi was set onto a blank one where his existence is still questionable, that’s why no one seems to remember him or if he existed and as time past the universe was able to turn everything back on the right track as it should be.
