Xie Luyu took a breath and walked to Gu Qingchi. He first handed the flowers and the trophy to Gu Qingchi. He then knelt down on one knee. He nervously licked his dry lips. He didn’t say anything fancy. He just got straight to the point.

This novel was tough for me. I used to be where Gu Qingchi was with my own depression because of various circumstances. I am still recovering from this today (but i’m much better!). Gu Qingchi’s situation seemed to follow my own, starting from his numbness and apathy. The entire thing felt very real and true to my own experiences! I cried multiple times for him while reading 🫠 Especially when he got to where he could finally ask for help, finally wanted to keep living. I was the same!
I extend my love and admiration to the author, because whether they watched a loved one go through this or went through it themselves, its hard! If this comment happens to be read by a reader who is in a similar situation right now, life does get better! It gets so much better! Depression is a behemoth. Getting out of the mire is a process.
