  8. I had a very bad childhood, I was psychologically and physically abused, I didn’t live, I was only surviving. I have many mental problems because of it years after. But I would never kill someone. I didn’t learn morality from my abusers, but I would never ever kill someone. It’s why I feel pity for Wen Chan, but I would never give her excuses because of her father’s treatment. She could do a lot of things to get out, anything really but kill 2 people.

    But I feel very bad for Xueli. He did what is, in my point of view, the best thing, he called the police. Not only was he badly traumatized, he was almost killed, and he saw the woman he loved kill herself before him. He need psychological help very badly, and nobody care enough for him to help him. I wish Xu could help him, but it’s not in his nature.

  9. I’ll be honest, the storyline of Xueli and Wen Chan is the only thing I like in this entire arc, if not novel (MC is painted like a huge dick here as well). I’ve MTL’d this arc a long time ago and it left impression on me because of these two. It would have been perfect if author haven’t mentioned few things at the end: 1) blood flowed from the back of her head, means she shot from the front, which isn’t really easy to do, it’s easier to point at the side of your head or you shove barrel in your mouth; 2) wen chan closed her eyes, incorrect, she couldn’t have closed her eyes, because brain damage is an instant switch off.

    But funny thing, I don’t really remember previous arcs (except crossdressing, well, that was handled horribly) and a week ago I just MTL’d till the end (o course not dropping spoilers), will just say that I was fairly disappointed with the rest of the story (except one idea i liked in the final) and the 10th arc oof, it has setting that I personally dislike a lot. Strange novel, here and there you can see interesting ideas, but not always handled well.

      The MC really is a jerk.

      I feel sorry for Wen Chan, who snapped from her abuse, and Xueli, who had finally found satisfaction in an average lifestyle. Hopefully, he can get some good treatment and move on with his life. I was impressed by Xueli’s quick thinking. Kudos to him for contacting the police in such a manner.

En este mundo, sentí pena por los protagonistas, WC…tuvo una vida miserable, me pregunto si la muerte de su madre fue causada por su padre, quizás por eso ella le dejó ese dinero, con la esperanza de que se liberara de su padre, pero al final tomó una mala elección lo que la llevó a seguir en el yugo de ese ser, la casara con otra bestia y ella terminara así.

    En cuanto a ZXL… simplemente fue lamentable en ambas vidas.

  21. Could relate to Wen Chan. Having controlling parent/s can really drive one to insanity. Good thing I’m quite rebellious and kinda willful or else I would really lose myself and become a puppet. Can’t have friends, can’t go to places aside school and home freely, etc. Feels so shit. Smh.

    Maybe it was a plan of the man and her father for her to have no other choice but to marry. We wouldn’t know but when it comes to a control-freak, they’ll do anything for what they want to happen.

  25. I feel bad for Wen Chan, but at the same time I don’t get it. She finally took her mum’s money that was left for her and was ready to run away… with her dad sending her abroad wouldn’t that make it even easier to escape? And why the heck would her dad find some random guy to marry her off? He made her study piano, dance and calligraphy to the point that she won numerous awards, had an offer to join a national ballet and the end goal for him was just to marry her off in her early twenties and not find a career path or anything ambitious??? What was the point of her studying so much for. I think the author dropped the plot on this story.
