Story of Another UsCh5 - Around Campus

“Augustine~!”

Necomir closed his mouth and rolled his eyes as he exhaled deeply. Sebi just stared at him curiously, wondering why he was irked. jCc9r8

“Woah, Bellona! You really located him! You don’t suck at your ability anymore.”

“Akhenaten, do you see my fist? I can break your jaw right now.”

Necomir rolled his eyes again and decided he didn’t want to stick around so he grabbed Sebi’s arm and pulled him away.

“Hey, he’s going away! Akhenaten, do something!” e8ES0X

“Necomir, wait up!”

Before Necomir could take another step, a wall of yellow light suddenly blocked them. It pushed him off balance, so he was forced to stumble back and look at their pursuers. Meanwhile, Sebi admired the wall, eyes widened as he reached up, probing it with his fingers before he tried pushing it away with his telekinesis.

“Hey!” the man named Akhenaten yelled when he felt his force field being forcefully undone. “Wait a minute, isn’t that Decebal Yan?! Bellona! Are you seeing this?!”

The beautiful blonde woman he was with walked towards them, ignoring Necomir as she reached out and touched Sebi’s shoulder. Startled, he turned around and went rigid when he’s met with clear green eyes.

“Decebal!” She grinned widely. “Wow, it’s really you! Do you remember me?!”

“How about me?!” the man she came with butted in. “Who thought we’d meet you here–”

“And with Augustine, out of all people,” Bellona  said, smiling wickedly at Necomir who looked like he wanted to throttle them.

Sebi racked his brains, trying to remember who these people were. He did remember who they were since they were in his memories, but he couldn’t attach a name to their faces. TNb4Mn

“I can’t remember much anymore,” Sebi sheepishly said, looking down at his fumbling fingers.

“Then I’m Akhenaten Hiraoka!” the man introduced himself. “We never crossed paths before, but I’m teammates with Necomir for Ability Enhancement Class.”

Akhenaten…? Isn’t that the name of a pharaoh from an old human civilization who wasn’t very liked by his people that he was erased from ancient archives…

Sebi decided to just keep it to himself. YeJgNL

“I’m Bellona Yahontov,” the woman spoke, breaking through his thoughts as she reached out with sneaky fingers to suddenly pinch Sebi’s cheek. “And I think you’re sooo cute, Decebal!”

Necomir decided he had enough of witnessing this outrageous scenario. He grabbed Akhenaten and Bellona by the scruffs of their uniforms and tossed them to the side mercilessly.

“I don’t want to be rivals with you!” Sebi protested.

“Whoa, Decebal doesn’t want to!” Akhenaten gasped. “So does that mean we can recruit you as our fifth team member?”

“Akhenaten,” Necomir warned him. giGcxV

“You need another member for your team?” Sebi asked with glimmering eyes.

“No,” Necomir groaned as he rubbed his forehead.

“Our class is uneven, so we are the only group with four members,” Bellona said, completely ignoring the displeased looks Necomir was throwing her way. “But now that you’re here, then we can be five!”

“But Neco doesn’t want to include me,” Sebi muttered. He really didn’t want to upset him, so even if he wanted to be part of his team, Sebi can’t just force his way in if Necomir didn’t want him to be part of it. 6XLUyY

Necomir looked like he was in pain as he watched Sebi’s face slowly droop into disappointment. He could only sigh and mumble, “I-It’s not that I don’t want you in…”

Sebi quickly smiled hopefully and said, “Then I can come with you?”

“Work on your abilities first before hoping you can get into the Hexagon,” Necomir chided him as he knocked against the top of his head. Sebi wanted to say that he had performed really well during his ability examination, but thought against it quickly.

“Decebal,” Bellona chimed in as she pushed Necomir away. “Do you want me to tour you around campus? I’ll even tell you some secret routes!” CQowAP

If a man was being eagerly invited out by someone as beautiful as Bellona, they would say yes in a heartbeat.

But Sebi felt shy, and the glint in Bellona’s eyes didn’t comfort him at all.

“Stop weirding him out, idiot,” Necomir recovered and pushed her away.

“Bellona! Why didn’t you tell me about the secret routes?!” Akhenaten angrily said as he pointed at her accusingly. “We’ve been friends since we were five!” r8PWgD

Bellona gave him a nonchalant look. “Just because we grew up together doesn’t mean we’re best friends. Chunmi is my best friend.”

“She doesn’t know about the secret routes, so why are you telling Decebal?!”

“Because he’s cute.”

“So you’re saying I’m not cute?” FHnbre

“No, you rhinoceros-looking fuck.”

Akhenaten feigned sadness as he turned around and said, “Thank you for everything, goodbye.”

Necomir and Sebi glanced at each other, wondering what on Earth was happening.

Bellona sniggered as she reached out and grabbed Akhenaten’s shoulder. “Hold up, I was kidding. Remember that electric kid who burned your eyebrows at the Hexagon? I know a way into his room.” btwgUY

And just like that, Bellona managed to coax Akhenaten and they disappeared, finally letting Necomir and Sebi have their peace.

“Are they…” Sebi mumbled, and even though he didn’t fully form what he actually wanted to say, Necomir was able to grasp what he meant based on his expression.

“Their mental stability is normal, it’s just that they are a bit hard to understand,” Necomir explained.

“Since they are your teammates, are they not hard to work with?” Sebi wondered. FyO0hL

“No,” the other chuckled. “They’re pretty efficient. Bellona is a teleporter, and Akhenaten can create force fields. We also have another teammate, she’s Chunmi Alvarez and she’s a technopath.”

“Your team is filled with very talented people,” Sebi acknowledged. “It seems like I do have to work hard so that I can get on your level.”

Necomir thought that if Sebi can cause that earthquake without much of a detrimental effect on his health, then he’s probably already more than good enough for them.

But he didn’t say it out loud and simply ushered Sebi to get something to eat. niAPqH

In his past life, the Eastern Earth Base had limited resources. Sebi was only able to cook and taste a small variation of vegan food. Even those in cafeterias only had vegan dishes.

However, due to his interest in cooking and as a major in anthropology, Sebi had the knowledge of other forms of food. Fish and meat were ones he was most interested in yet never had the chance to actually taste. He heard that the larger bases such as the Northern Earth Base had enough space for livestock, which also gave him the idea that if he graduated, he will definitely travel there and have a taste.

The desire to taste fish and meat didn’t have to take that long in this universe, because when Necomir gave a meal card to the cafeteria robot which had the diet plan made for Sebi, he was pleasantly surprised to see that his tray was filled with so many food, including fish and meat.

Sebi had to rein in his excitement as the aroma overwhelmed his nostrils. Vegan food was always delicious when prepared right, but the savoury scent of fish and meat activated this innate fondness of humanity for such food. 1L3tpr

“You need to eat all of that,” Necomir told him, misunderstanding the look on Sebi’s face as hesitance because of the outrageous amount of food the diet plan dictated.

He had no idea that Sebi was actually very excited to eat everything.

People stared, recognizing the strange duo as the two who always fought in elementary and high school. Sebi didn’t pay them any mind as he hurriedly sat down and let the robot aid lay his tray on a table that Necomir had chosen.

The first bite Sebi had of the meat was absolutely magical. It was made into a very savory barbecued dish that tasted so good with rice and the sauce. It felt like he had travelled back into time, when humanity ruled over Earth and had all this delicious food. 7ADW2p

The next bite was the fish, which was also very satisfying. It was made into a sweet and sour dish that he just couldn’t get enough of.

Necomir really didn’t have to remind him. Without being told to, Sebi would definitely eat all of this up.

“Impressive,” Necomir mumbled in approval, watching as Sebi practically inhaled everything. He didn’t find it strange. When they were younger, Sebi was actually pretty robust and big for their age. He may be small and pitiful right now, but it didn’t mean Sebi’s appetite lessened.

“You actually finished everything,” Necomir said in amazement as Sebi finally sipped the last of his soup. He was so full, and in a good way. He didn’t feel bloated at all. Instead, he felt like he had filled up the hole inside his body. nS9I7q

“The food is very tasty,” Sebi said with a satisfied smile.

“We should walk around the campus so that the food will digest properly,” Necomir said as he pressed a button to let the robot aids clean up the table.

He suddenly froze, his golden eyes lightly shaking. It was his ability being triggered.

Just as Necomir had pressed the button, the alarms started wailing, filling the whole cafeteria with red lights that signalled an emergency. vuw7ty

“There’s a fire,” Necomir mumbled.

“Attention, students. Do not panic. Please make your way out through the fire emergency chute in an orderly manner and stay outside while we contain the situation. Thank you,” came the announcement through the speakers, confirming his prediction.

“A fire?” Sebi wondered as Necomir grabbed his wrist and pulled him towards the fire chute.

“Well… not really a fire,” Necomir said as they entered the chute. P3MpCN

  1. Akhenaten was the Pharaoh who decided the previous gods were all garbage and the only god that mattered was Aten. He tore down previous carvings and banned worship of the old gods during his reign and built stuff only for Aten, so then after he died the next Pharaoh was like “………. ANYWAY, let’s go worship the old gods!” So the worshippers of the old gods decided to remove evidence of this heretic ruler so they scratched his name out of the records, destroyed his buildings, etc. Once again I love your historical names

I’m glad Sebi gets to eat the foods he’s always wanted to try ^_^ I hope Bellona and Akhenaten didnt get into too much trouble~
