It would have been more honest, and also acknowledged that YTH had suffered; he hadn’t deserved the way LXZ used to treat him. While still reaffirming that LXZ HAD changed; stating that he valued YTH and wouldn’t be changing back. It would have allowed him to escape actually making an apology, while still serving the same purpose; and since both YTH and DYY already knew about the way LXZ used to treat YTH, he wouldn’t be losing any face that they didn’t already know about. It would have helped heal some of YTH’s emotional wounds that he hasn’t acknowledged yet from their past, and explained himself a bit to YTH which would make him seem more sincere and trustworthy to both YTH and DYY – I have a feeling that ignoring this is going to bite LXZ in the ass at some point in the future! You mentioned before in one of your notes that in the future their communication issues will cause a big misunderstanding between them for a while; I bet this is one of the things that contributes to that!
Well, TWY has gained approximately 1 point in perception. But the fact that neither the discrepancies he’s noticing in HYR’s character from his rescuer as he spends more time with his new fiance, OR the slip-ups HYR keeps making that prove he doesn’t actually know anything about the time YTW and his rescuer spent together have so much as caused a single doubt to creep into his mind about his rescuer’s identity costs him a few more points for intelligence. And the fact that he and DYY knew each other so well for so long and he didn’t recognize his voice; or at least remember the first time he heard it again afterwards… TWY is just SO dumb, ugh.
If YTW’s parents don’t do any fact-checking and manage to sniff out that there’s something fishy about HYR’s story and insist on investigating it properly before agreeing to the marriage, they’re honestly as dumb as their son. IF he DID have trauma, he wouldn’t have wanted to be around YTW once he no longer had to to keep him alive.
