So I came up with this theory: What if Hong Shuoxue is one of Yan Tianhen’s missing parents!
Just think about all the similarities and the circumstances that correlates the two together:
1. Hong Shuoxue was born in the Yin year and Yan Tianhen has a strong Yin body.
2. Hong Shuoxue became a demonic cultivator powerful enough to slaughter his entire family. Yan Tianhen has a strong affinity for demonic cultivation and has learned the imperial corpse technique (remember Ah Gu?).
3. Hong Shuoxue was beautiful (a widely agreed opinion). Yan Tianhen’s real face is still a mystery to us and there seems to be an implication that the curse on his face was done for his protection.
4. Although legends implied that Hong Shuoxue died “in mutual destruction” when he slaughtered his family 20 yrs ago, it doesn’t mentioned whether or not his body was found. If Hong Shuoxue did survive and had a child, Yan Tianhen, then he would’ve had to conceal his face and identity. Which brings me to my next topic:
The Ghost Masked Man

2. Very low key person. Unknown identity. Wears a mask. Only appears when Yan Tianhen is alone.
3 . Seems to know a lot about Yan Tianhen. How did he even noticed Yan Tianhen who isn’t famous?
If Yan Tianhen was indeed Hong Shuoxue’s child, then Yan Tianhen would likely be just as beautiful….and also share the same tragic fate. Given this, it would make sense for someone (possibly Hong Shuoxue) to have distorted Yan Tianhen’s appearance.
