Transmigrating into the Reborn Male Lead's Ex-BoyfriendCh91 - Found a Good Friend

Two pieces of shocking news shook the upper social circles of the Capital, and both of them had to do with the Song Group. All of a sudden, the Song Family, whose influence had been declining in the last few years, was pushed straight into the limelight.

The first piece of news came out shortly after the news that the Xiao Family had found their long-lost eldest son had come out. It was said that this eldest son was dating the second son of the Song Family, Song Xuanhe. The two of them were very much in love and had only reluctantly decided to be apart, because Xiao Yuanmu had to go establish his company abroad. Therefore, when Xiao Yuanmu had said that he was dating Song Xuanhe during the first interview he had ever accepted as the eldest son of the Xiao Family, everyone in the upper circles of the Capital began to re-evaluate the Song Family’s status. This was especially because Xiao Yuanmu, who didn’t usually speak much, had expressed his appreciation and admiration for his boyfriend many times. It felt like he had been purposely shoving PDA down their throats.

The second piece of news was deeply connected to the first piece. However, it had a heavier effect on the Song Family than the first had. The Xiao Family had already formally announced the time and date of Xiao Yuanmu’s welcome back banquet. They had also sent invitations to the most influential families in the world and families with whom they had close ties to. Only three families in China’s Capital received an invite: one was the Guan Family—with whom they were connected to by family; one was the usually lowkey Zhang Family, and one was the Song Family, who outwardly seemed to have no place amongst the eight major financial groups.

People in the circles had all been shocked upon hearing that the Song Family had been invited. Although Xiao Yuanmu had revealed his relationship with Song Xuanhe during that formal interview, it still didn’t have much to do with the rest of the Xiao Family. Even though no one knew much about the eight major financial groups, there was one thing they knew well—the Xiao Family head had never been gay. dx8Gfl

The fact that the Xiao Family had sent an invitation to the Song Family was indeed something to mull over.

This was a public declaration that they approved of their long-lost son’s boyfriend. They were also discreetly saying that there was no hope for Xiao Yuanmu to succeed the Xiao Family.

Everyone had their own thoughts and conjectures. As the centre of this storm, many waves also billowed within the Song Family.

When the Song Family had heard about Xiao Yuanmu being the long-lost son of the Xiao Family, the Song Family had mostly felt shocked and at a loss. After all, Song Xuanhe had called Xiao Yuanmu in front of their faces in the past. The two of them had been cold to each other and hadn’t acted like a couple at all. Since they had already broken up, even if they wanted to use this relationship for their own benefit, they couldn’t.

Therefore, except for Song Guochao, whose expression got worse with each coming day, only Song Jiabao, who became increasingly more afraid as the days passed, cared about the sudden change in Xiao Yuanmu’s identity. Everyone else had already been shocked by Xiao Yuanmu’s company. As such, they weren’t as surprised to hear this new piece of information.

However, Song Xuanhe didn’t change his story. He still insisted that he and Xiao Yuanmu had already broken up, that they no longer had anything to do with each other. gtSMd5

At this point, it was no longer just Song Guochao who didn’t believe him. Even Song Yansong and Li Nianan doubted whether he was telling the truth or not. After all, they all knew about what had happened between him and Xiao Yuanmu at the beginning of their relationship. If it wasn’t because they truly liked each other and were still together, why would Xiao Yuanmu publicly announce that they were dating in such a prolific magazine interview at such a crucial moment in time?

But, what could they do if Song Xuanhe refused to acknowledge it? Even Li Nianan and Song Xuanlin had separately pulled Song Xuanhe aside into one-on-one conversations to confirm. Li Nianan had asked him if he was worried that the family would be against their relationship. She had also asked if Song Guochao’s words had made him reluctant to speak and be honest to the family about his boyfriend. She had comforted him, saying that if this was the case, he didn’t need to worry. Song Guochao would never be against him and Xiao Yuanmu being together under such circumstances.

Song Xuanlin was different. Today, he asked Song Xuanhe whether he wasn’t willing to let others know about his relationship with Xiao Yuanmu, because he felt self-inferior and was afraid of losing the other. Or, he was refusing to acknowledge their relationship, because he was worried that the company would exploit it. He said that if it were the former, Song Xuanhe had nothing to worry about. He then praised Song Xuanhe a few times. In the end, he told Song Xuanhe with an earnest expression that, although he was lacking in many areas, he was worthy of being with anyone he wanted to be with.

At this moment, Song Xuanhe just felt strange and completely baffled. However, he didn’t perceive any malice. All he could do was thank the other man, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. 4HeoBY

Song Xuanlin looked obviously unused to being thanked by Song Xuanhe.

He was silent for a long time. After some time, he sighed softly and said, “I know that I’m not a good older brother.”

Song Xuanhe turned his head, astonished. Song Xuanlin’s face was slightly raised as he took in the moonlight above them. The silvery-white light illuminated his profile. For once, there was a trace of frustration and dejection, commonly seen on young people, on his usually inflexible and steady face.

“Actually, I had never really wanted a younger brother.” Song Xuanlin turned to glance at him before looking back at the sky. He continued in a flat voice. “You were also far from my ideal younger brother at birth. As you grew up, I felt more and more estranged from you. Therefore, I started to keep a certain distance from you. That’s why I’d never thought about what I should have been doing as an older brother. All I knew was that I should succeed the company. Meanwhile, all you had needed to do was live your life the way you wanted.” sBWiQe

Song Xuanhe turned to look at him. Song Xuanlin’s eyes seemed to be a bit out-of-focus as if he was looking at a road to the future, void of any and all signs.

“But, the person Grandpa wants to inherit the company isn’t me. To tell the truth, I’d felt jealous of you. I’d even felt angry. Back then, I had wondered, how could I— someone who had given up on having fun with other kids my age for the sake of learning how to take over the company—lose to the affection Grandpa had developed towards you while raising you?”

Chrysanthemum Garden.

“Song Xuanhe has never wanted to inherit the company.” Song Xuanhe met Song Xuanlin’s eyes full-on. His voice was cool. “All he had ever wanted was a big brother.”

Song Xuanlin was immersed in his thoughts. He didn’t notice Song Xuanhe’s third-person appellation. When he had heard that last sentence, he was taken aback. He then quietly said, “I know. I only found this out recently.” loERp7

“So what? Do you still want to ask me whether I want to take over the company or not?” Song Xuanhe thought about their conversation last time that had been interrupted by Li Nianan. He also thought of all those times in the past where Song Xuanlin had looked like he wanted to say something, only to end up uttering something meaningless.

Song Xuanlin was silent for a while. Song Xuanhe tilted his head, gaze clear and limpid. “Why do you keep asking me if I want the company? If I said that I wanted the company, would you give it to me?”

“That’s not it.” Song Xuanlin shook his head. “I just wanted to confirm that you really don’t want it.”

“And then?” iPWM2q

“And then…” And then, I’d get rid of my desire to free myself of this heavy burden that is the inheritance of our family’s company. I’d give up on finding my life’s passion and completely dedicate my everything to developing the company. I’d make sure that you would never have anything to fear, even when faced with Xiao Yuanmu, who had built up RE from scratch. I’d make up for all those years I had failed you as an older brother.

Song Xuanlin wanted to say all of this, but none of the words would leave his mouth. He and Song Xuanhe had opposite personalities. Song Xuanlin was guarded and had many misgivings. Regardless of whether it was his real emotions or not, he didn’t really want to share them. He had hypnotized himself in an effort to get rid of any emotions that would affect his studying, work, or personal interactions. He had told himself that they weren’t important. Who knew if it was because the hypnosis had been too effective or if it had just been too long—he really did think that they weren’t important now.

All of a sudden, Song Xuanlin recalled a memory from a long time ago. Back then, Song Xuanhe had been seven or eight years old. He had always had a lovable appearance. Even when he had acted naughty, it had been hard to criticize him. At that time, aside from Song Guochao, who had rarely come home, no one could resist him—even the helper aunty couldn’t help but give him some snacks when she saw his chubby cheeks.

In this particular memory, Song Xuanlin had been rushing to leave the house in order to get to his teacher’s place for a make-up class. Because he had been afraid of getting stuck in traffic, he had been moving quickly. As soon as he had reached the door, he bumped into Song Xuanhe, who had been wearing a sailor-style shirt and a pair of overalls, as he rounded the corner. The incomplete model plane in the other’s hand fell to the ground and shattered into pieces. TfhEyX

Song Xuanlin had frozen back then, feeling helpless. He had thought that Song Xuanhe would cry. After all, in his mind at the time, his younger brother was willful and unbridled.

However, Song Xuanhe had only blinked his black eyes and sat down on the ground cross-legged. One hand gathered the pieces on the other ground while his other hand wrapped around his leg. He looked up and said, “Ge, my plane’s broken. It was so hard for me to build it. You broke it, so I want you to help me build it back together now.”

Song Xuanlin didn’t remember exactly what he had said. All he remembered was that he hadn’t agreed. In the end, he had left in a hurry in order to make it to his teacher’s class on time.

If this memory hadn’t been stimulated by the outside world, it would have probably hidden itself in the depths of Song Xuanlin’s mind, never to be unearthed again. 9aoTkW

But recently, one morning, the servants had opened up Song Xuanhe’s room to clean. Song Xuanlin had been passing by at that time and had inadvertently caught a glimpse of the shattered model plane in the glass display case. There were also many familiar and unfamiliar objects inside the case.

It wasn’t until the servants had asked Song Xuanlin if anything was wrong that he had suddenly remembered that everything in that case were presents he had given to Song Xuanhe before.

Even he had forgotten about these things. And yet, his younger brother still treasured them, carefully collecting them. At that moment, Song Xuanlin hadn’t known what the feeling in his chest had been.

It was also at that moment that he had subconsciously begun to observe Song Xuanhe more. He even wanted to interact with the other more. Unfortunately, Song Xuanhe had begun to avoid him. He was never able to see that expression he wanted to see on Song Xuanhe’s face during their conversations again. c ZedV

Song Xuanlin said: “From now on, I’ll learn how to be a big brother.”

Eve: Aw. Again, the og host did some awful things, but who knows if things would have changed if his childhood hadn’t been so dogshit? Can’t help but feel sad for him.

  1. Huaaaaaa 😭😭😭 Im feel sad for the original host. He didn’t have time to feel his brother’s affection before he left 😭😭😭😭

  2. I know that there are reasons behind Xuanlin’s actions but I can’t help but dislike him. I don’t like how he just displayed that “big brother” attitude coincidentally and timely when the convenient things are happening. I really don’t hate him. But it would have been better if this “big brother” thing happened earlier in time.

I really love that line Xuanhe said in third person, ” Song Xuanhe has never wanted to inherit the company. All he had ever wanted was a big brother.” Its a mind waking for Xuanlin. But I think it’s also a reminder that it’s too late to start the “big brother” attitude cause the original Xuanhe is gone.

I really love this novel so much. It never fails to make my tears gush out like a broken pipe.

Thanks for the chapter Eve ! I’m really sorry for the rant haha, just wanted to get it out of my system. Happy Holidays to you too !

  3. Wew, the original really has an ugly environment and people growing up. This chapter makes me tears up. (╯︵╰,)

    Thank you for the chapter!!

  4. thank you for the chapter!

he doesn’t even care for material goods he just wants to have a good time with you ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ

LN rlly be doubting the truth of SXH’s relationship XD (“ah these younglings and their messy relationships”)

  5. omg I’m sad I want the old Song Xuanhe to come back and have a good relationship with Song Xuanlin… I feel so sad TvT

  6. ohhhh the emotional whiplash…. i was having a good time. and then suddenly heart is hurting and my eyes are sweating….. It kinda hurts more bc it’s too late for him to be a good big brother to og song xuanhe…. I dont know…. i don’t hate him for it though. The most he can do is to do his best now…. at least he realized it too late rather than never ah…. thanks for the chapter !

  7. Can’t really say that the original SXH has no fault for his endings but still, the environment and people around him must have impacted him so much that the fluff original is gone after he grew up :((

  8. After i reading full chapter until here…. I’m not pissed with any character, but pissed with how great Author make storyline full of Sh#t…

How much hole, n ridiculous system he created. N Mc still stuck with thoughts ‘He not part of story, n even he try to change story the plot n system forbid him’

Make him locked his deep feelings, with his life on bet.. 😑🙄 including others character around him.

  9. Agree.. I’m so sad for the latter SXH.. ;v;)/

Thank you so much for the chapter!!!~ 🙇🏻🙇🏻🙇🏻🙇🏻🙇🏻🙇🏻

  10. Song Xuanlin said: “From now on, I’ll learn how to be a big brother.”

Ahhhh my tears won’t stop! I know its already too late and the past had already happened, but Xuanlin knowing that the intentions and feelings of the og Xuanhe was wanting him to simply just be his big brother was enough for me. As long as he knew ahhhhhh!

I’m happy for this two brothers making up! If only the original Xunahe got to see this (:’3」∠)

    Thanks for the chappie! ( ˘ ³˘)♡

  11. again, another sadness ibfeltnfor original host in transmigration stories, some of them is good people grow up in bad environment like this… they deserves better… wanna hug them (っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ

  12. ahh I’m crying why am i always weak for sibling relationships. i feel so bad for og song xuanhe😭😭😭

  13. “In the end, he told Song Xuanhe with an earnest expression that, although he was lacking in many areas, he was worthy of being with anyone he wanted to be with.” I adored this so much! I hope they can fix their relationship and become good brothers.

Thanks for the chapter! <3 and happy holidays

  14. I was really touched. Song Xuanli wants to compensate his little brother, but Xuanhe really doesn’t need an older brother now. 😭

    Thanks for the chapter!

  15. Song Xiantian said: “From now on, I’ll learn how to be a big brother.”

Well… pretty late big bro, if you start now… it’s already wrong person plus it seems in previous life you didn’t actually try… so yeah idk I doubt I can like this character (no hate tho) 😐

  16. I’m just thinking about how it was absolutely SXL who killed Lu Chao in the og timeline. Ofc he’d go absolutely ape shit after finding out that his naughty little brother — who only wanted a good relationship with his big brother — was tricked into drug addiction and sex work/sexual exploitation and led into an extremely fucked up death. Seeing that glass case full of all the gifts he’d ever given his younger brother, knowing that it was far too late to make amends and become the brother that Xuanhe had wanted to have.

  17. Ah I wanna hug both of them Q^Q

Happy Christmas Eve and have a nice holiday ☺️

Thank you for the chapter Eve😘

  18. the og host was definitely a bad person in the end but what made him bad was his surroundings. he wasn’t a bad person from start, he could’ve changed if his childhood was good.

  19. Awww Xuanlin went from sus to uwu,, I love character development– i cant deny i thought that SXL wanted to kill SXH for inheritance, but reading this chapter made me reevaluate him. I hope he becomes the big bro he wants to be QnQ

Merry Christmas Eve and Happy Holidays to y’all too!! Thanks for the chapter~

  20. …..I kinda wish there’s a side story were the old SXH was reborn together with his older brother…… though it most likely won’t happen. Haaaa the sad thing is the SXL doesn’t even know that the person he needs to make it up to isn’t even there anymore.

  21. 😭 😭 😭 waaahhhhh! This is so sad on many levels. I wonder what passions Xuanlin ge has given up on? I wish they all could have given each other the love and support they wanted and needed growing up. I hope he continues to grow and He bao can learn to count on him in place of the original…

Thanks for your hard work! Happy holidays!

  22. i wanna cry omg mumu can go on the backburner this brotherly love is all i’ve ever wanted… it’s a pity the true SXH didn’t get time to experience it :'(

    thanks for the chapter!

  23. If only your original bro could have heard any of this, Song Xuanlin… T_T

I guess, better late than never…

  24. The idea that Song Xuanlin might not have found any of those items until after Song Xuanhe’s horrific death in the original plotline, like when they had to clean out the room he left behind, is just…awful. And now the best he can do is still for the wrong person, and there’s no way Song Xuanhe will take the company so Song Xuanlin isn’t going to get to pursue his own passions either, it’s all just…the happiest ending for them isn’t even really happy! Unless Song Xuanlin learns from our Song Xuanhe how to combine business with passion and the original Song Xuanhe somehow experiences the brother’s love he always wanted vicariously, maybe. Anyway, Xiao Yuanmu’s announcement sure did stir up a lot of things! To some extent, by claiming to have a close and serious relationship with his boyfriend, isn’t he also subtly announcing that he doesn’t intend to return to the Xiao family? At least not as a conventional heir. But maybe he seemed so genuinely into Song Xuanhe that people thought he just happened to talk about it so publicly…

Thank you so much for translating! <3

  25. “Even though no one knew much about the eight major financial groups, there was one thing they knew well—the Xiao Family head had never been gay.”

I’m sorry for laughing omg 😶😶

  26. …f*ck, why do I feel like I was being force-fed dog food at the beginning? I’m obviously Aro-Ace, so how is this younger sister finally feeling the burn of a single dog???

sigh This older brother… really, I think the saddest part of transmigration stories, especially ones where the original MC was a “scum” character is the different opinions of the family members. It’s always sad to see the family have better opinions and relationships with the transmigrator vs the original… That’s why, Song Xiaohe’s “Third-Person” referencing hurts my heart so bad over here QAQ

  27. 🤔hmm.. reading this really make me work on my brain. I think, in the original story, the death of Lu Chao(he was murder same as how Xuanhe died) must had something to do with Xuanlin?probably, after Xuanhe death, he by any chance found out about all these presents in the glass case. And like in this chapter, triggered his memories bout their interaction in the past. Then he found out that Xuanhe actually admired him. And all those thing that Xuanhe had done was because he lack of love and attention from their family. (Being spoiled and being loved/cared/attention is 2 different thing and have different effects). So, maybe Xuanlin investigated all that happened to Xuanhe, starting from the drugs things. Or maybe earlier.. aiyo..i am really curious….
  28. As a younger sister, I understand the feeling to be acknowledge and able to spend time with older brothers. I even changed my tastes and aligned my views on their “masculinity” just to bond and fit with em. Gahhh (╥﹏╥) og SXH’s life is indeed I can’t help but sympathize :<

  29. If only you realized it way earlier Song Xuanlin. Maybe you could still see the smile you want from your little brother.

Now, all that left is a stranger inside your brother’s body who only called you brother because of responsibility.

Og Song Xuanhe died without getting the love he want from his big brother…

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa I’m not crying!! You are crying!!!

  30. ahh these moments where a relationship turns for the better once the host is gone is really :// sxh just wanted a brother sigh

    • hmm maybe lu chao’s death in the novel was sxl’s way of making up to his brother. it’s good that he would never feel that guilt anymore but novel!sxh will also never get what he really wants…

  31. Idk anymore…I just want the original host to feel the familial love he lacked, from a father, from a big brother. I know he was spoiled rotten by his mother and grandfather also loved him a lot but they have spent their love on him in a very wrong way. The original host thinking his brother don’t like to act affectionate because of company inheritance, how right he was. Agh why am I taking it so personally!

  32. what kills me is the fact that the og SXH will never be able to hear that

to SXH those words are meaningless

    really really sad

  33. Omg, I thought SXL had sinister intentions (although I still have doubts about him but it’s just a tiny bit now; I doubt everyone in a Cnovel hahahaha). 🙁 I thought he really wanted the company but I guess he was working towards that goal because it was what was expected of him? It made me sad that he never really got to explore what he wanted out of life but he knew it wasn’t the company. 🙁 What makes me even more sad is that it’s too late for him to be a big brother since original SXH is gone. And the original SXH wasn’t innately bad but he came to that end. 🙁

  34. I agree. Og might be saved if he had good big brother that he already worshipped since beginning had been administering his wrong. After all, OG had sh*t as a father, overly doting mother that is not beneficial in shaping his character, biased doting grandpa and estranged brother with sign “keep your distance away from me”.. then a heap of fake friends. If only Xuanlin realised it sooner. Aishh, I can only sigh remembering all that shaped OG to what he is right before Xuanhe transmigrate. I wonder where OG’s soul went though.

  35. Everyone feels bad for Song Xuanhe, meanwhile I’m crying for Xuanlin. He felt obliged to inherit the company, so he gave up everything he liked. I’m glad he can at least fix his relationship with his younger brother, but I really wish he could just dump the company and enjoy his life.

  36. it was so sad, all he rlly wanted at the end was his gege’s love and care 🙁 i feel bad knowing his life ended so tragically and he didnt get/feel his gege’s love or care

  37. I don’t feel bad that OG Song Xuanhe died. It’s regrettable how things ended with him but I’m not gonna brush off how he treated pre-rebirth Xiao Yuanmu.

Still, I can’t help but feel sad about how a baby only wanted his brother to love him. I’m sure he was sincere when saying he didn’t want the company just because he loved his big brother. And the saddest thing is that this big brother was only able to realize some of his feelings when said brother is already gone.

I loved that our Xuanhe specifically told him in 3rd person. A subtle way to tell the big brother, “it’s too late”

  38. No sympathy for him he had a chance he wasted on material things in fact the right answer was in front of him just like life don’t let u do over similar he can’t do over 😿

  39. honestly, the og’s childhood was so sad. if he maybe had someone who would stand by his side and help him, he wouldn’t end up becoming how he did when he was older. :’)

I rmb commenting that the brother was somewhat heartless, to not have partiality to his own blood brother but now he prob had too much on his own plate as the eldest son and esp so when he saw his younger brother acting as he wanted.

I’m happy that SXL is trying to be a better brother and that he realized how much og loved and respected him but I’m sad that the og never got to experience that. :’)

  40. I believe that every family in this novel has something wrong in their head. They made it a habit to hate their kids. 😂😅

  41. That kinda sad. I feel bad for ogxuanhe. Eventho he became a jerk (because his family), his ending is a little too much in my opinion. Why the family didn’t help him I wonder? I guess they just realized ‘the feeling’ after ogxuanhe died tragically right? But it still too late. I can’t help but kinda don’t like the family.

  42. It’s sad… It’s just very sad Q-Q They missed each other for many years, so they didn’t know each other :<

Thank You for the chapter -ω(´•ω•`)♡

  43. Too bad, the one who need to hear it no longer around, saying it to someone else doesn’t really mean anything 😮‍💨

It’s the only downside of transmigration, it was only when the original gone then the people around start to care, it’s good for the new host but in the end they’re not the original so the feeling really wasted as it never reach the original, although it’s likely impossible sometimes I really want those people to know that the person they want to apologize to already gone, it’s kinda unfair that they have the chance to “make things right” and eased their guilt while the original never had the chance to fix things, I mean getting someone take over your body doesn’t fix the past, after all it’s no longer the original, I’m actually curious if the original have a chance to get back to the past like ML what change would he do to his life
