He was wrong. This was hell. It was the deepest darkest pit where even Satan himself was too afraid to enter.
Kloh laid on the ground in an extremely pitiful state. His usually calm and reserved face was filled with fatigue and frustration. Beads of sweat ran down his face and into his messy, tangled hair. His ears, neck and cheeks were tinted red and he was struggling to catch a breath. The peach shirt he wore clung to his soft body with each breath he took, completely saturated. His black shorts were covered in handprints and dirt. His arms and legs ached fiercely. He couldn’t move. Looking into the sky he blinked back tears of defeat and squinted at the sun. This is it. This is how he’ll die. Just then a beautiful ebony face came into view, blocking out the beating sun.
He was tall, maybe 6’2″, and muscular with his short black hair neatly styled. His red shirt clung to the contours of his muscular body. His loose black shorts showed off his long pretty legs. This was an alpha. An extremely beautiful alpha with full pink lips and a slightly crooked nose and a chiseled jawline and deep eyes. And this extremely beautiful man was nothing like the pitiful Kloh. His breathing was steady. He looked calm and wasn’t at all tired. Kloh, with a barely functioning arm, reached up and mumbled out to him.

Kloh whined in pain and let himself be pulled. As he stood, his weak legs trembled and immediately gave out. Before he could tumble to the ground he was caught.
“Just leave me to die Mars. I’m already embarrassed enough.” Kloh tried to shake off the man’s grip, determined to wallow in shame.
“Again, can’t do that. Sorry.” Mars laughed again and nodded over the tree closest to them. “Lee will kill me if I leave you behind. Dex as well.”
Kloh groaned and covered his face. Dex was watching him! Fuck! He had embarrassed himself in front of Dex. He completely lost the will to keep going. Kloh shuffled around silently using Mars to hide himself away. Mars couldn’t help but laugh again as he realized what the younger alpha was doing.
“Come on Kloh! You’re almost done!” Lee yelled from where he was sitting under a huge tree with Dex and Wesley.
The three omegas sat comfortably on a large picnic mat. In front of them was a beautiful picnic basket that Kloh had filled with food and drinks the night before. The first five passes were okay. By seven his body started protesting. By the end of the eight lap he was close to collapsing. By the ninth his body just gave out halfway through.
He panted heavily as he followed behind Mars. The last leg of this course was a 500 meter dash. But as far as Kloh could tell it was a 5 mile marathon. Each step he took was grueling. Ahead he could see the rest of his class sitting around relaxing as they waited for him and Mars to finish. Most of them had finished the 10 laps easily. Even the slowest among them didn’t struggle as much as Kloh. He could see them looking at him and whispering to each other and laughing. And if that wasn’t enough to add to his embarrassment the fact that Mars, who could easily do 50 laps, had slowed down to accompany him.
Slowly but surely they reached the end. From the sideline the three omegas led by Lee cheered widely. Kloh covered his face and simply wanted to crawl into a hole. Mars clasped his shoulder with a laugh and nearly sent Kloh flying. Kloh caught the cry of pain that tried to escape.
“You did good. Take a break.” Mars nudged him towards the bench.
With shaky steps, Kloh managed to make his way over to the empty bench. Immediately he collapsed onto it. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. A moment later he felt a cold bottle pressed against his face. Peeking an eye open he saw Lee looking down at him with a sympathetic look.
“Lee, I’m dying.” He simply said and let his eyes close again.
“I know I know. You poor baby. Here lift your head.” Lee sat on the bench as Kloh barely lifted his head.
He scooted over so that Kloh’s head was in his lap. Taking the towel he brought with him, Lee slowly wiped the sweat from Kloh’s face.
“Here, drink some water.” Kloh took the bottle and drank the whole bottle at once.
The cold water was refreshing. It was blissful. Coupled with the cold dry towel wiping his face, he felt more normal.
“How bad did I embarrass myself? Does Dex think I’m weak? I’m clearly not a good enough alpha for him or anyone for that matter.” Kloh sighed heavily.
“Hey! You should know by now that Dex isn’t the kind of person who cares about things like that. Plus for a guy who lived the life of a lazy omega up until 2 two weeks ago, I’d say you did pretty good.” Lee comforted him, placing another dry towel over Kloh’s face.
“Then why didn’t he come over?” Kloh softly complained.
Lee laughed lightly. He looked up from the tired alpha to his older brother, who was intently staring in their direction. The moment they made eye contact, Dex raised a brow at him. Then nodded to Kloh asking if the man was alright. Lee smiled and nodded. Dex relaxed and smiled. The man didn’t even realize that he was tense. Lee held back a laugh then looked back to his best friend.
“He was going to but we figured you’d be too embarrassed to see him. So I came.”
“That’s fair. So he’s not embarrassed of me?”
“No. I’d say he’s more worried. After all, we spent all of our gym classes sitting on the benches or playing light sports. Going from that to a full military style course is enough to give yourself a heart attack.” Lee pinched his nose through the towel. “If I knew it would be like this, I’d have forced us to at least take up track.”
Kloh didn’t even have the energy to bat away Lee’s hand. Instead he relaxed. Letting his mind empty, he listened to sounds around him. He easily picked up on the conversation happening close by.
“How’s he got three pretty omegas cheering for him? He barely finished the course. Is this the type of alpha omegas like these days? Pathetic.” Person A said.

Sam’s head snapped to Kloh in anger. Kloh calmly stood, his body still burning with pent up anger. He felt some of that anger disperse after punching Benny in the face. When he saw Sam charge at him, he was actually looking forward to releasing the rest of his anger on the lumbering alpha. His body tingled. As Sam descended on him, so did his pheromones. The disgusting smell wafted towards Kloh and agitation was added onto the bubbling fire. Immediately he felt a different kind of control shatter.

Sam abruptly doubled over. His body strained against an invisible pressure. His face flushed red. Behind him Benny screamed again as he fell to his knees, gasping heavily. In the beginning of his third year of high school Kloh had inadvertently become a legend.
Earlier that year in May he had celebrated his 16th birthday. Then three weeks later, right before the end of the school year, he had differentiated as an omega. That summer was spent learning all about suppressants and mating. All to his embarrassment of course. He even attended several self defense classes. Outside of meeting his friends at their homes, he did not interact with others.

A scowl on his otherwise calm face. He held both Lee’s and Noe’s hand in each of his own, the two still a bit flushed and still scared. For a moment the feeling that he gave off to Adam was one of an alpha protecting his own people. He knew at that moment that the source of the pressure was coming from Kloh.
“Okay cool. No numbers. That’s fine. We’ll just go now.” He forced out a smile, sweat beading up on his forehead as he shifted uncomfortably.

And just like it appeared, the pressure vanished. The three alphas took in a shaky breath. They quickly gathered themselves and fled away from the table. When they were out of sight Noe turned to Kloh with glittering teary eyes. He sniffled as looked at his friend.
“Noe……” Kloh let go of their hands and opened his arms to the smallest and most sensitive one of their group.
Noe instantly jumped into his lap and hugged him, tears falling. Lee took several shaky breaths and leaned his head against Kloh’s shoulder.

Many of his omega classmates had come up to him in the following weeks to ask for his help in turning down alphas or betas who were courting them. And being the nice guy he was, Kloh couldn’t find it in himself to turn them down. Especially the shy ones who would’ve probably been coerced into a relationship they clearly didn’t want to be in.
Most alphas didn’t believe in either rumor. But when the omega they were trying to get with ran over to Kloh before confirming or denying their relationship they grew wary. The ones who did end up in relationships were grateful to Kloh. Meanwhile those who were rejected solely blamed him and not their lack of appeal for the rejection. That unfortunately led to many alphas showing up in front of him throughout the day demanding an explanation. It wasn’t until he once again unconsciously released the pressure on a group of alphas who came to bother him during gym class and broke one of their noses that people started fully believing both rumors.
It could be said that that year and following were two of the most peaceful years in the school. No alpha dared to act out of line towards an omega. The omegas felt safe and comfortable when they were at school. Such a nurturing environment was beneficial to everyone. And it cemented Kloh as a defender of omegas, which he found absolutely embarrassing.
All the attention had actually attracted several alphas to him. The most noticeable one being Adam. The alpha had decided that he was in love with Kloh and wanted to he with him. He followed Kloh around, fighting off alphas who came to bother him and even defending omegas who were trying to chase away suitors. It was actually quite endearing. Kloh caved and dated him for a month before Adam graduated. They parted on good terms and Adam even occasionally reached out to him to this day.
In those two years other than the first couple of times he unconsciously released pressure against alphas who bothered him he never had the feeling again.

As the instructor listened to Lee describe what happened, the two bleeding alphas had were taken to the medical office. Off to the side Kloh gave Dex, Wesley and Mars a more detailed explanation of what happened. Mars nodded in understanding when Kloh mentioned the reason why he initially punched Benny. As an alpha with a mate he clearly understood the reasoning behind Kloh’s action. He couldn’t guarantee that he wouldn’t have done something way worse if someone talked about his Wesley like that.
“Right on. They totally deserved that.” Mars reached out to fist bump Kloh.

No offense Kloh.” Mars explained as he wrapped his arm around Wesley, placing his hand on top of the shorter man’s head.
Dex paused for a moment, thinking over Mars’s explanation. After a moment he nodded, apparently agreeing with the train of thought. Then he turned back to Kloh who was watching him. Kloh’s eyes widened for a second as they made eye contact. His heart picked up for a second before he tore his eyes away. This was the first time the two had seen each other in person since the imprint happened. All the feelings of closeness and need had sprang forth the moment he smelled the distinct scent of Dex’s pheromones.
“Well this isn’t how I expected our first meeting to go but what can you do?” Dex finally relaxed, a small captivating smile appearing on his lips.

“Not my in a weird possessive type of way. Shoot ah sorry about that. You’d think that I of all people would get the whole ‘my’ thing. I promise I’m better than that.” Kloh babbled nervously.
Dex held back his smile as he listened to that young alpha scold himself. Looking back and forth between the two, Wesley’s lip twitched with excitement as he finally realized that this was the alpha Dex had previously mentioned to him. When Dex had invited him to oogle alphas, he naturally agreed. He clearly didn’t connect the dots to the reason why Lee had texted him the day before. With bright and shiny eyes he pulled out of Mars’s arms and stood in front of Kloh. Hand held out, he interrupted Kloh’s rambling and introduced himself formally.
“Hello Kloh, I’m Wesley. Dex’s best friend and the person who you need to impress in order to win Dex over.” He grinned widely at Kloh who stared down at him dumbly.
It took a second to register the words said before he eagerly reached out and shook Wesley’s hand.
“Nice to meet you. Hopefully I’ll be able to impress very soon.” Kloh replied with a laugh.
Wesley looked him over and nodded in approval. So far he liked this dude. And so it seemed Dex did as well.
“You’ve already impressed me once today.” He said and leaned forward and whispered with a devilish smile, “Impress me once more and I’ll hand over his virginity to you. You seem worthy.”
Kloh choked on his breath and blushed. Stuttering he shook his head and glanced over Dex who had clearly heard what Wesley said. With a glare he whacked Wesley upside the head.
“Stop promising my virginity to people. It’s not yours to give away.” He hissed at his best friend, unable to stop the blush that covered his ears when he felt Kloh’s intense stare on him.
Wesley only grinned and dove back into Mars awaiting arms. Mars could only roll his eyes and rub Wesley’s head where he got hit.
“Correction, it’s no longer mine to give away. It seems you’ve found your alpha. Don’t forget about little ole me when you pass it on.” Wesley sighed wistfully and Dex reached out to slap him again but he hid in Mars arms.
Mars laughed loudly and apologized to them both before carrying his obnoxious omega away before he got beat up. Kloh and Dex stood in an awkward silence as they both tried to ignore the implications of Wesley’s words. Dex cleared his throat. Kloh looked up at him.
“I have to go to the lab.” He said.
“Oh, yeah. Okay. Uhm have fun.” Kloh replied.
“Are you coming back with Lee this weekend?” Dex suddenly asked.
“He hasn’t mentioned it but yes I will come. Only if you want me to though.”
“No, yeah. I mean I do… I do want you to.” Dex cleared his throat and pinched his ears to stop from blushing.
“Okay then. I’ll definitely be there.” Kloh now smiled.
“Okay then. I’ll see you there.” Dex nodded and set the picnic basket next to Kloh’s feet.
As he straightened up he realized how close they were. His breath faltered for a second. The unique musky smell of Kloh’s pheromones faintly floated into his nostrils. He passively breathed in several times. Kloh stood still and allowed the man to scent him. Although his instincts were telling him to wrap his arms around Dex and fully surround him with his scent, he didn’t. His eyes drooped slightly as he also took in the intoxicating smell of Dex’s pheromones. Then he felt a pair of soft lips brush against his cheek. For a moment he was stunned. His eyes fully opened only to find Dex several steps away, rubbing his burning neck.
“Thanks again. See you Saturday.”
“Anytime. See ya then.”
