The analogy with the fish is weird… and the abalone shell looks like a shimmering oil stain… But that moment of “the night is beautiful” and Saman having this “I’m a desert you’re an ocean it’s your motion that I need” thought is quite heart warming. It doesn’t even have to be romance, because the love of family or friends also has that safe harbor feeling. But I really do hope that Saman also gets to see A Fei’s other sides.

  7. There it is! Ren Yifei is just too real in a world that doesn’t quite live up to it. I like that we get to see the real reason for Saman’s infatuation here, beyond the characters Ren Yifei plays—the very fact that he’s playing characters at all. And, though he doesn’t know it, that Ren Yifei who lacks and somewhat disdains emotions still persistently chases after them in his roles rather than resign to apathy. Definitely a good place to start for them
