hi. sorry i haven’t said anything or replied to comments at all. to put it simply, well, i’m just…tired, i guess. so many things happened that they’d be too long to be told. in any case, this chapter marks the end of the main story, so i ought to write a thing or two i think. more like a ted talk, but oh well.
in my opinion, the story ended pretty well. it might not be the perfect ending for some, but i think it’s the best for everyone. this is a happy ending yes, but author left it for us to decide how the couple lives on. i won’t say much because my opinion doesn’t matter anyway, but again, let’s respect what the author writes, especially how she has decided to end this story. please remember that this story was completed in 2017, which was like three (or four?) years ago. the way she writes might have been different, and i’m sure she has improved a lot. i honestly like her simple approach in writing this story, because the story focuses on Ye Chen’s daily life. hey, i like complex writing/stories too, but reading such a light-hearted story is also great in my opinion. not everything has to be “complex” to be “good”. and hey, who doesn’t like a happy ending? 🙂
starting from this paragraph forward would be more about me. anyhow… i started playing Yakuza~ it’s primarily consisted (?) of beat ’em up, but there are a lot more array of genres inside the game too, mostly in the mini-games. long story short, i got very, very invested (?) with the plot… really, it’s a lot more than just “beating people up”. myfuckinggod thIS CHARA IS DED!? wounded charas? tragic backstories?? hUH MORE PUNCHES??? This novel feels like a healing cookie perfect for reading after some dog blood drama haha

Personally, I love the whole novel, too. The sweetness and angst level are good enough and there was no unnecessary dogblood drama. Not to mention, every character are all lovable in their own accord. It also teaches us how to treasurer our love ones if we are lucky enough, and also shows that working hard also yield good result(such as Ren Jing and Gu Xi). People experience different lives. We couldn’t judge others in a bundle nor at one look. It also showed the darkness and the brightness of human’s heart and soul. For me, its really filled to the brim. I really have no complaints.
Honestly even if, (im saying if coz i really enjoyed every bits of it) i somehow did not like this at first, I would keep going to read it. I trust Long Qi-laoshi’s writing. She won’t leave a story empty. There will always be something worth-seeing.
I love Long Qi’s works so much. And she is kind of my awakening and my light as well, hehe.
Anyway, all in all, this story is now one of my most favorite in all her stories. Same level as Game Loading in my heart. Well, there’s still her Glory that I need to pick up reading, soon.

But for a lighthearted, funny, plus a lot of romance kind of novel, the contents are so much entertaining, at least for me. Even if we were to talk seriously about it, like what you’ve said, we could get some precious life lessons from it. The novel might not use a lot of poetic or flowery words, but from them alone I came to imagine if these characters are real, they’d be great friends!
If I have to be very honest with you, I decided to pick up this novel solely just from reading the first set of available translations. YEP, IT’S THAT SPONTANEOUS. And I’m not regretting any bits of it, because even from the earlier chapters I know that I’m going to love it. So of course, I carried on till the end~

Regarding that, the author never really elaborates further, which is such a shame because we want to know!! In any case, this is just a personal observation but judging from the last part of the movie, it probably ends with a bittersweet ending. Can’t say for sure if the main leads get together in the end or not, tho… Again, considering RJ’s “monodrama” part, it probably ends sad… But we’ll never know for sure 😭 I guess in the end it’s up to our interpretation how the story ended~
