So our main character, Ye Fei, is reborn two years before his death. After a long period of abstinence, our Ye Fei wants to indulge and live freely. So he slaps the face of his father and brother (Chapter 1), and decides as his first act, he wants to rid his image of an old-fashioned executive! He ditches his black suit, his glasses and goes to a hair salon! Only for him to meet… his contractual husband, Yan Xiao. (Chapter 2).

The contractual husband, about to ditch the hair salon, finds the will to remain next to Ye Fei. Ye Fei had married Yan Xiao to save his family company, Dingyuan, from financial difficulties. This contract was to last for ten years, but Ye Fei decides to break off the marriage. He asks Yan Xiao for a meeting, and Yan Xiao cancels his meetings for the day. As Ye Fei smokes, waiting for Yan Xiao to finish, Yan Xiao asks for a cigarette. He immediately starts coughing once Ye Fei leaves. (Chapter 3)

Ye Fei decides that Yan Xiao was such an eligible bachelor. It was a waste, and so he announces to Yan Xiao, let’s divorce!(Chapter 4) Stunned Yan Xiao.jpeg. He must be drunk, maybe he’s angry. Oh, let’s buy double skin milk, Ye Fei loves that! (Chapter 5)

On the other hand, Ye Fei, free of burdens, decides to go (pick) out (up) with(some) his(hot) friends(guy). They go to a particular dating hotspot, and his remaining friends are stunned. Who is this beauty? Ye Fei unfortunately encounters his mean little brother before he was even able to make a move. (Chapter 6). How unlucky! They shoot barbs at each other, and “The Way to Upgrade the Concubine” is brought up. Having been almost bankrupted by the show, Ye Fei persuades his friends not to invest in it. Ye Yao, having lost the battle of words, stirs shit by contacting Yan Xiao. Yan Xiao now knows where his husband is! In the meantime, Ye Fei convinces his friends to invest in some shares he knows will go up. His friends, more worried about the ongoing marriage crisis, ask if he’s in love with Yan Xiao.

“Not a bit.” Such are the words heard by the heartbroken Yan Xiao. (Chapter 7). Ye Fei asks how Yan Xiao had found out, and pits his brother afterwards. Ye Fei shares a cigarette flame with Gu Ruijia, and a jealous Yan Xiao snatches the cigarette instead. Our jealous husband brings Ye Fei home, sneaking a touch. (Chapter 8)

Ooh, lookey, those shares went up! In the meantime, Ye Fei is engaging in aggressive flirting, and Yan Xiao is being shifty as he starts talking about Ye Fei’s past. (Chapter 9). Childish Ye Fei’s pit is revealed; Ye Yao’s beaten up face is worn on the T-shirts during the company’s anniversary. In the meantime, he joins his friend Gu Ruijia’s company. Having successfully pitted his brother, Ye Fei is advised by his good friend that rather than plowing his efforts in work, he could maintain his standards of living by remaining married to Yan Xiao. (Chapter 10).

Ye Fei is pissed, but starts looking at investment opportunities. Hey, this sci-fi drama looks good! Gu Ruijia: It’s a fraudster. Ye Fei arranges to meet his friends once again to get them to invest. In the meantime, he messages Yan Xiao that he’ll be out today as well. Yan Xiao is overjoyed, but Cheng Minghao, his subordinate and friend, is suspicious. (Chapter 11)

It turns out that while Ye Fei thinks that they have never met before, Yan Xiao has seen Ye Fei seven years earlier. Then why did their relationship start with a contract then? Yan Xiao thinks Ye Fei doesn’t like aggressive people. Cheng Minghao, filled with bitterness as to how his friend turned from academia to entrepreneurship, advises his friend on the difference between aggressiveness and not even showing interest. Yan Xiao now knows that the way he was pursuing Ye Fei was ~wrong~. On Cheng Minghao’s advice, he sends Ye Fei a headline… featuring baldness.

Yan Xiao heads over to Ye Fei’s side with the precious double skin milk. All varieties this time! Can’t go wrong after all! (Chapter 12) He comes over and completely spoils their game of Cluedo with his intellectual capabilities. The group asks Yan Xiao to take a photo of them, but it ends up being a photo of Ye Fei alone with the others blurred out. (Chapter 13).
