  1. And this is different from what Gu Zuo did to his competitors in that big pharmacist tournament…. how, exactly? Gu Zuo, don’t be such a c-novel hypocrite!

    • It is called “tit-for-tat”. He was just returning the favor. It’s the golden rule, right? Treat others the way you wish to be treated. If that dude from the Chongyun Sect wanted to mess up someone, he should’ve thought about the consequences of his actions.

    • In the pharmacist tournament GZ used his psychic power to asses the others’ pills refining, not to sabotage them (he used special pill & pill refining for that). So I don’t see your point about him being a hypocrite to be valid at all.

    • The pill tournament uses defensive and offensive pills. Gu Zuo used the devouring pill thing and won fairly. In this case they are using foreign power to disrupt the process of other competitors, not pills.

    • I think you miss the point of the pill battle competition. They use attack and defense throught their pill’s refining. He won by producing a Top grade pill which the refining method can absorb the other pharmacists pills being made, so by his OP refining skill. Yeah he has a golden finger for the prescription and skill books etc, but he won by his own hardwork and talent that he can refine the pills he learnt.

This one the “enemy” want to attack using psychic power to ruin both the pill and the pharmacist, which is despicable when they’re supposed to battle talent and skill. GZ never hurts anyone who doesn’t deserve to be hurt. This time it’s not just about winning or losing. Duh…

    • bro have you even read the novel? GZ used his psychic power to observe his opponents. the thing that actually disturbed his opponents was the pill he was refining in the previous tournament, which was literally what every single pharmacist was doing. Reading comprehension is really important for these kinds of danmei, you know?

  2. I was worried he would chose to not make a move out of worry of being discovered, or that he made a move and got discovered by the other side’s elders, which would be worse. But I’m glad his golden finger is still working just fine.

Honestly, the other side needs a face slap so bad that I suspect fate worked to deliver them to our protagonist’s front door.

    Thanks for the chapter ~🌸

  3. While what GZ did here isn’t the same as the Danyun city pill battle, it is veering a little into the grey area. Theoretically, a pharmacist’s psychic powers are as much a part of their cultivation as a martial artists fighting techniques after all, so why shouldn’t it be allowed as part of pill battling? If both sides were equal(ish), the pharmacists would be dueling mentally at the same time as they refined pills. If Chongyun had shamelessly announced at the start that there’s this ability and it’s allowed for the battle, Qingyun Sect wouldn’t be able to much but take the loss.

Anyway, no translation issues this time. 🙂

    • It’s not that it isn’t allowed, it’s just that they didn’t know it was being used. If they know, they could prepare or find a way to block it, or they will just accept defeat justifying it with the reason of having no psychic power. But if they didn’t know, imagine a normally outstanding pharmacist has his/her pill destroyed at this time with no rhyme or reason, not only would the sect lost more face, that pharmacist be ridiculed, that pharmacist would also be suspected on colluding with the enemy and cause infighting. That’s why GZ called it despicable.

  4. Thanks for the chapter! GZ will get practical battle experience with his psychic skills… this will let him assess psychic skills used by other pharmacists, and perhaps allow him to subtly direct his sect’s pharmacists to explore new ways to use their powers. It has been pointed out before that other pharmacists on his current continent seemed to have a very narrow understanding of how to use and strengthen their psychic abilities. This may inspire some changes. I suspect that this visiting sect came to bully them because they made their own breakthrough regarding psychic powers and wanted to use their pharmacists to crush the confidence of the Qingyun Sect. Don’t think they are ready for someone who is aware and likely much better than their guys to secretly step in, so this may end up as a massive unexpected face slap to the Chongyun bullies…
