Hi! It’d have been better to make a separate comment rather than join this line :’DIf you want some numbers – the novel is around 250 chapters long. Xie Yi kinda likes Shi Yue since the start, but openly acknowledges it to others at around 2/3 of the novel. You get development from Shi Yue’s side towards 3/4 of the novel, with them getting together another bit later. A lot of the first half of the novel is Xie Yi being very young, so there’s no development there.
The synopsis was interesting and temptingly good but I’m not a fan of slowburns so I’m having doupts if I should read this, someone please guide me how much of a slowburn this is?

Is this like other novels where the MC likes him but he’s indifferent so later the MC kinda stop so when he realized that he likes him also, he’ll regret it then now he’ll be the one to chase after the MC like they’re just pushing and pulling?
In a way, but not the exact trope you mean. MC has been open about his interest from the start, but he never planned on pursuing ML in the first place. While MC is a kid, ML is obviously not interested in him (he treats it like you’d treat any elementary school kid crushing on you), so he falls for him later.
Tgere’s not really pushing and pulling going on, their romance is rather straightforward
