The boy was creepy and Yao Ming did not like him but for his uncle, he tried his best to get along with the creepy child and that elusive wife his uncle had brought home.

He hadn’t liked his servant but it was his servant after all, so he had asked his family to help search for him when he appeared to have vanished into thin air.
They found him.
They preferred they hadn’t.
The sight of a young boy, barely in his teens, happily crunching down his distorted teeth on the servant’s arm had caused the childish Yao Ming to retch.

But then he fought.
There was no way for a street-rat to fight like that and suspicion came crashing down again.
The looks he always gave Yao Ming when Shi Yue wasn’t around – not that of a child. Not that of a human. He held no care for the dead beast in front of him.
Too abnormal.
Yao Ming couldn’t tell if it was fear crashing down on him or hatred. Things like these had killed his father. Things like these had destroyed his family’s peace. Besides, even if this thing was obedient now, what about later? What if it grew? What if it started to attack the sect from the inside?
Aah. Actually, couldn’t he get rid of that thing, now while it was still young? He’d be a hero. So far, that thing kept itself under control so he had time…

Pause for a moment and consider how insanely suspicious Xie Yi is to anyone in this setting, let alone a traumatized young man. Of course Yao Ming didn’t react the right way, but that doesn’t mean he’s evil.
Yao Ming isn’t the great big villain of the story, so I saw no reason not to give him reasons for acting the way he did. He’s convinced he can take care of this himself, without implicating his family by revealing the truth that he knows about a being he’s not supposed to know about.
Wait so, is Xie Yi really a demon spawn? Or did Yao Ming ‘thinks’ he is a demon spawn?
From the text, it’s seem the one killed his uncle wasn’t Xie Yi, and despite his bloodlust, Xie Yi wasn’t a cannibal.
Anyway, my most pressing concern is whether Baby Yi is saved in time 😨

Finally get to the part of YMs reasoning and I love the story. I agree, I never saw him as a villain but an antagonist since we never know his reasoning until now. From early chapters I had thought him more complex, not the usual villain senior who got jealous that’s common in other stories after I was wrong during his first three appearance. I quite like him as a character
