“Not bad,” he added with his chin tilted up, his lips curling into a small smile, “Your human form is very adorable, just…” he paused for a moment, staring at the bump on Shen Yu’s abdomen. “I wasn’t aware kittens could also get pregnant. Was it a rogue? A self-insemination?”
Shen Yu was speechless, his earlier dark thoughts forgotten in the wind. A self what?

Shen Yu hoped he wouldn’t, he didn’t want to be picked up by some crazy person who let his kitten walk around free of reign and thought his kitten could morph into a human.
“What are you doing here?” he asked at random, looking bored.
Shen Yu didn’t respond, he didn’t feel like responding to a crazy person. He wanted to be alone.
After a while of silence, the person said, “Ah, how boring, you a mute? I don’t know sign language, but I can read your answer if you write it down somewhere.”
“I am not mute,” Shen Yu said after a while, his voice coming out hoarse after all that crying, “I am Shen Yu.”
