Two days passed, making tomorrow Chang Min’s first actual date.
For the past two days, Chang Min had been in a daze, wondering if what happened was real. He knew it was real because he can still feel the kiss on his lips. Plus, Ye Xun texted him, reminding him of their date. But he still couldn’t help questioning it.
Chang Min softly groaned, covering his face while sinking into his seat, as he still did not know what to do on the date. When he and Ye Xun went on fake ones to act out his scenes, it was easy since they were make-believe.
Now, he did not know how he was supposed to act.
Does he act like his usual self, or like how TV and books show first dates?
Chang Min felt his mind going in circles at what to do; he was so close to slamming his head on the table to shut down his thoughts.
“Son, what’s wrong?” Chang Ying asked, watching her son silently freaking out. “Do you want to go back home?”
They were currently at a small breakfast restaurant, enjoying a meal together. But halfway through the meal, Chang Min grew silent as his facial expressions went through a rollercoaster.
Chang Ying and Chang Liang started to grow worried when they saw him sinking in his seat while covering his face. They knew Chang Min was still not okay with being outside with surrounding people, so they thought that might be the problem.
Shaking his head, Chang Min forgot that he decided to eat out with his parents for breakfast.
Even though he did not want to go, he tried to push himself for them.
Plus, it is always amazing to see his parents light up when he agrees to go places with them outside.
He bit his lip, wondering if he should tell his parents or not. After a few seconds of thinking, Chang Min gave a verbal response, “S-So, I-I uh….have a date.”
His parents looked surprised before it melted into smiles and teasing expressions. “So, who is this lucky person taking you on a date?” Chang Liang asked.

Chang Liang touched his chin, feeling the stubble on his chin as he looked thoughtful from his wife’s words. “You are right, honey. Chang Min is practically obsessed with Ye Xun.”
Chang Min almost jumped up from his seat due to his parents’ injustice. “What! No, I’m not!” Then, when he saw the surrounding customers turning towards their table from his yell, Chang Min sunk back in his seat.
His cheeks were completely red as he wanted to disappear at the moment.
Chang Ying closed her eyes as she nodded her head in agreement with her husband. A hum left her mouth before she started speaking, “So true. Chang Min cannot go a day without mentioning Ye Xun to us.”
“Did you know that Ye Xun is so amazing? Sometimes I wonder why he still hangs with me. He is handsome, intelligent, and has a top-tier job. Yet, standing next to him is like a dull bulb mixed with bright ones.” Chang Liang imitated his son’s voice, repeating words Chang Min spoke before.
“Mom, why is Ye Xun so busy? I want to see him already. Sometimes writing is not enough to cover my loneliness when he is not here.” Chang Ying joined in, recounting what her son told her last month.
Chang Min wanted to scream.
Why can’t he remember saying those embarrassing things! And he knew his parents would not make it up because it does sound like something he would say about Ye Xun.
“Mom, dad,” Chang Min groaned, “can you please stop? I get it, so please, no more embarrassing words.”
Chang Ying laughed, reaching over as she pats her son’s shoulder. “Sorry, honey, we cannot help but tease you. I think it is nice that you are going on a date. Are you nervous? When is it?”
“Yes, and it is tomorrow. I don’t know what I am supposed to do for the date.” Chang Min answered, not discouraging his parents that his date is with Ye Xun. There was no point in trying, and he had nothing to hide from them.
“Be yourself,” His father responded. “There is no reason to think so hard or worry: you and Ye Xun have known each other for years, already knowing what to expect from the other. So, calm down and enjoy yourself, son.”
His mother nodded, “I agree. You will be okay, honey. But, if you keep stressing over the date, it might not end well. On the other hand, I can tell and see that Ye Xun cares about you a lot, so I know he will treat you right.”
Chang Min straightened in his seat, breathing calmer than before as he released his anxious feelings over the date tomorrow.
He knew his parents were right.
They have been through some things together, so one date should not ruin their relationship, even if it goes wrong.
“Also, no sex on the first date.” Chang Liang added.
Chang Min instantly broke out his thoughts, choking on his spit when his father’s words registered in his mind.
“Dad!” Chang Min yelled as his whole body turned red. He waved a hand in front of his heated face, trying to calm down from specific images popping in his mind.
“Chang Liang!” Chang Ying scolded, “Watch your words.”
Chang Liang shrugged, not understanding why his wife is mad. “He is an adult; it is fine for me to say that.”
Chang Ying sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose as she tightly squeezed her eyes shut; she shook her head.
Picking up his fork as he stuffed food in his mouth, Chang Min was happy that his parents were not paying attention to him.
His mind would not stop replaying his and Ye Xun’s kissing while grinding on each other. He did not want his parents to see his flustered expression and question him some more.
Chang Min already reached his embarrassment meter for today and did not need any more added to it.
His mother decided to drop it, switching the conversation back to a PG version, “Honey, I hope you will wear a nice outfit to go out with and not your usual.”
Food dropped out of Chang Min’s mouth as he paused with the fork halfway inside. He looked a bit pale, “I thought you said to be myself.”
His mother sighed once again, “I will help you pick an outfit.”
The day of Ye Xun and Chang Min’s first date is here. It is two hours until the appointed time that Ye Xun will appear.
Chang Min’s outfit laid next to him as he typed on his computer, trying to calm his nerves. Yesterday, his parents calmed him down, but now that his date is two hours away from happening, he is nervous again.
He was halfway through his new chapter when his phone vibrated. Chang Min grabbed it, seeing that he had a message from Ye Xun.
Ye Xun: Are you okay if I can stop by your house early? The date won’t start until 6 pm, still.
Chang Min quickly slammed his computer closed, silently apologizing for the abuse as he set it aside. Then, he stood up, looking at how he was still in his pajamas and hadn’t showered yet.
He swiftly grabbed underwear, running to the bathroom with his phone in his hand. Once he entered, he locked the door and turned on the shower before sending a text back.
Chang Min: That is fine.
Ye Xun: Okay, I will be there in an hour.
Chang Min sighed in relief; by then, he will be clean and dressed.
I am stopping the contest and ending it since no one joined. I believe only two people said they would.
