Apparently, it’s a common type of elixir in novels where its function is just to heal/regrow limbs so you might have seen it before.

There’s a phrase 起死人而肉白骨 (qǐ sǐ rén ér ròu bái gǔ) which means to bring the dead back to life and make the dead bones grow flesh. I guess like a skeleton turning back into a human? Though it might be a metaphor for rebirth.

    This author is amazing at setting up situations. Unfortunately, because of a setup with an unfortunate resolution I’m now more disappointed than I’ve been in a while (but still eagerly enjoying the story, of course). The author set it up perfectly for the “I’m raping you for your own good” trope but then almost immediately subverted it by n ot only having MC ask for permission but also offering another option to survive for if ML refused! But before he even got an answer MC went “nah, I’ll just do it and ask for forgiveness later”. If not for asking for permission and the other option I wouldn’t have gotten my hopes up for a first time with affirmative consent but now they were raised so high only to be crushed :'(

    • Agreed, that was a clear decision by the author, they chose to not make it consensual when it very easily could have been. Even though I’ve been looking forward to this development, I was also really hoping for it to be consensual. It seems to me as if the author played it this way in order to make it “funnier”, showcasing the shamelessness of the MC. I know a lot of people do find the lack of consent somehow entertaining, I’m just not one of them. I’m now hoping for a strong backlash at MTL for very clearly not giving QT the choice, even if it’s a super painful one. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets away with it.
