Translator's Note

Okay, so trying this format out for Alya~ Remember that Shan Haoyu is from… 1933… Even if he’s not at all intending to be old-fashioned, in some ways his thinking is still a little antiquated and he had these things explained to him as a child, by another child, so… His impression is men being women, but he means well, honest!

  1. well i was not expecting xiwei to be the top that’s for sure 😂 would be nice if they switched later~ and thanks for the food

    • This is indeed a switch novel, though I went back and forth on who would start things off!

In the end, even if it eventually settles into like a 80/20 split (with Shan Haouyu as the top, haha), for the first time Zhou Xiwei knows more about what to do (even if he has no direct experience) and can take the lead as the more modern person. Leading by example and all that.

      😅 😉

      • i love switches 🥹 but not so much gong protagonist… don’t ask me why even i had no idea why i have such a hard time reading novels with a top mc but i love switch the most 😂😂 though even if zhou xiwei ended up being a full-time top i would still read this novel cause there’s no way i can stop now

  2. (*//艸//)♡Love your beginning of chapter warning. No worries about reading it at work, but maybe having to hide it from over the shoulder peekers.

  3. It has been an interesting change from my first impression of how they related to each other. In my mind, someone who is comfortable on a boat, enough to pull others in board without tipping, is a strong and confident person. So when they met, Shan Haoyu was the pillar and Zhou Xiwei was wearing a dress he never would have chosen for himself . Then Shan Haoyu was shy, then he was fragile, and every reveal has made Zhou Xiwei into someone who can decide on his own whether he wants to wear a dress or not. While Zhou Xiwei is thinking hard about staying, he should bear in mind that you probably don’t walk away from a half-celestial who looks at you as – or better than – an equal.
    • To be honest, I think Zhou Xiwei is one of those people who gets his strength from supporting others. Only, in his regular life, he’s the baby of the family, and to top it all off, he’s grown up living under the auspices of a rich family that he’s not technically a part of. Because of that, I think he developed a much more insecure and unconfident personality.

How he acts with Shan Haoyu is probably closer to who he would have been, if his parents hadn’t passed away and he hadn’t developed that streak of inferiority and guilt.

Meanwhile, when dealing with bad people, Shan Haoyu is the most steady. But once he’s exposed to softness, all the parts of him that he had to hide away for the sake of keeping his brother safe reappear, and he’s a soft young man that just wants to be understood and become worthy of the person he loves.

  4. So romantic! And hot!

Also, where’s Uto with his manifesting supplies when you need some lube, dammit.
