ohh i was off: Director Xi had the suicide death (explains his extra guilt). so prob Shan Yutian was the accident and Shan Haoyu was violently murdered which is why he cant remember cause that life-ending trauma is memory-locked? ….but then how did the 3 of them (and the priest guy) become like this? the way Shan Yutian blamed himself, i thought perhaps he did some ritual to save the lives of the two people who showed him kindness and then joined them in the same form (of which the priest guy was an unfortunate addition crossed into the ritual)
