  1. i didn’t think they were dead, but more like their bodies just stopped aging for a certain reason… but if they dead then that means they really can’t leave uto huh 😭

    • +1 all this time I’d been wondering, “Aiyaaaa… how old are they??”

      On a side note, that place has been closed off for a long time, and Xiwei received the multi-sensory treatment (￣ψ￣٥ ) He was so happy to find the hidden clues he didn’t react to the musty air poofing out? I’d be freaked out before seeing the photos… Bro, what did you breathe in? We’re talking about cursed people here, and let’s not forget the undying guy who reeked so badly everyone who touches him wants to scrub their skin off.

    • It totally helps when the author is incapable of writing a BE. I mean, it’s great to have variety, but some of us (me~ ❀(σ´∀`)σ ) are more than happy to seek that in all stories without a BE.

    • I’m REALLY late adding to the game (finally catching up!) but I had guessed at least that poor lover boy was dead, with him being patched up from fragments and fully unable to leave 😥

  7. I guess it makes sense, in a way. The main factor that keeps most of us from killing evil or even just annoying people around us, is that we recognize that they are live humans just like we are. It looks like Shan Yutian has not thought himself the same as the shipwrecked humans for a very long time. He doesn’t need them, they use resources and require work to maintain. Is that at least partly a result of being objectified? And does he keep Shan Haoyu from remembering everything that broke Zhou Xiwei? Because that shattered reaction reminds me of when I watched Given, the anime, gave myself a crying headache, and wished I could forget it even a year later. I need my brain for this story so I try to catch up on the days I have one 😜.
  8. i guessed those three were long-dead at the story’s plot summary ‘:D but i didnt feel confident they were all ghosts until Shan Haoyi was talking about all the others who came through and i thought it odd they survived all that (thsi suspicion combined with Shan Haoyi’s memory and cracking problems + little phrases/thoughts from the other two, they must already be dead). …i read a lot of horror love stories akdhskdh

    btw i’m enjoying this story!!! i was a bit uncertain at first (with my life xp, i get easily confused by strong crushes) but ive gotten really drawn in with tryna decipher the island’s mysteries!! and the Shan brothers and Director Xi and Zhou Xiwei are really cute (๑˃ᴗ˂) i think Shan Yutian is prob my fav tho; he is so quick to murder alxhskdn

    ah my first guesses on order: accident was Shan Haoyi (reasoning: gut. tho i can see murder; either way i think he died protecting his brother against the unclean priest guy), murdered was Director Xi (another in Shan Yutian’s defense; could also see accident that happened when he was trying to protect the Shan brothers), and suicide was Shan Yutian (likely by a cyanide pill. he seems very familiar with it)

  9. But like… Are they really all the way dead? Its Uto after all. Even the donkey man died like what, twice, but is still breathing. 😂 Anyway, I knew from the start they’re at least stuck in some time loop of not aging, so being kinda dead totally checks out.

  10. I was on the fence about dead vs. trapped in some sort of time capsule limbo, but felt dead was most likely after the chapter where SY drowned the trashman. The author’s note made it clear that Uto couldn’t punish the dead (undead?) and SY admitted himself to several murders so it seemed logical that he, at least was no longer living.
