The Black Saint is My StalkerCh95 - A foreign name whispered

Edited by dreamandwonder

Aoibhinn. nOw7EH

That name alone carved a spot in Han Li’s heart, causing chills to travel down his spine, goosebumps arising on his flesh. While the rest of his team was poised for battle, Han Li’s mind was elsewhere.

The memory fresh, resurfaced like an aching ghost, desperate for a haunt.

Graham’s breath against his nape.

Arm around his waist.  5LWazM

His back against that wide chest.

A foreign name whispered: “Aoibhinn.”

Was this the same Aoibhinn? Or was Han Li going insane, like some psychotic one-night stand who couldn’t stop himself from falling into deep infatuation, obsessively conjuring assumption after assumption about his crush.

He blinked, feeling disoriented. Inwardly, Han Li cringed at himself, hating that he so stupidly snapped out of professionalism for even the briefest of moments. It was hardly the time to be thinking about his extremely unfortunate attraction to one Saint of Eternity!

More importantly, he had to deal with his assigned target, the Crimson Witch!

This Crimson Witch who might have some connection to the Saint of Eternity…

No! Han Li hissed at himself, vowing to properly put away thoughts about one Graham Astley and focus on the Crimson Witch that stood before them.

She tilted her head and placed a dainty finger on her rosy lip. The church, cold, had no heating but Aoibhinn wasn’t bothered in the slightest with her lack of appropriate wear. “You know of my name but what of yours? I find it lacking in manners to come to another’s abode without even announcing oneself, don’t you think?” JgupUo

Leonie cautiously took two steps forward. The mid-tier desire demons still remained lined up against the wall. Though they’ve whittled the numbers down to eleven, there were still enough demons to cause alarm and pose a threat to the team.

“Trevor,” Leonie scolded, “I understand your impatience but—“ z6flY8

This time, it was Oscar who cut her off, “Sorry, ma’am. But I’m with Trevs on this one.” In comparison, Oscar was a lot less snappy than the rude shithead that was their exorcist. But that telltale sparkle was equally present in the paladin’s eyes, his gaze locked onto Aoibhinn.

That was all that Trevor needed to launch himself at the Crimson Witch, fist raised and battle cry on his lips. Oscar was right at his side, the two leading the charge into the fray.

“How rude. To think that I had even gone out of my way to put together a welcoming party for you lot…” Aoibhinn complained with a soft huff. She raised her hand and snapped her fingers; the rows of demons that stood vigil on the sides of the hall roused with a snappish jolt, dashing right into the two charging hunters.

Trevor cursed as he was forced into a halt, rounding and redirecting an attack to one of the horse-like beasts that came at him with their claws and hooves. “Don’t just stand there, the rest of yous! Get that cunt!” Tf4gQF

Leonie sighed deeply but did as she was told, joining in by swinging her oversized lance, creating space for the hunters to maneuver around.

Meanwhile, Valtteri was still out of sight, perched up somewhere just outside the shattered windows. At times, crossbow darts would part the crowd, setting off explosives here and there.

Han Li, on the other hand, bit back all his complaints and just did as Trevor told. If that blockheaded idiot wanted to ignore all their designated roles and disrespect him like he did, then what was Han Li supposed to do? If Trevor wanted to be the vanguard so badly and get caught up in the main crowd of enemies, he should have just said so. Han Li had no qualms playing paladin instead.

So like any dumb ass paladin that packed more brawns than brains, Han Li dashed past the mid-tier demons and went straight for the prize. For Aoibhinn. FqBVLO

She stood there like a statue, completely calm and unconcerned about the chaos that unfolded before her. In fact, she seemed to be basking in it, her smile gleeful and eyes dancing with joy.

The Crimson Witch didn’t even flinch when Weian’s silver blade was coming down at her.

A loud sizzling sound could be heard when Han Li’s sword came into contact with a barrier. It wavered and faltered at Han Li’s brute strength, but at the same time, he had bitten off a bit more than he could chew.

In order to get up close and personal with the fabled Crimson Witch, Han Li might have disregarded one too many of those mid-tier horse demons. Just when he was about to slice through Aoibhinn’s thin barrier, claws came swiping for his neck. Han Li managed to jerk his sword at the offending claws at the very last second, protecting his delicate neck from the blow. But the block was clumsy and he was easily knocked off his feet and pushed away from Aoibhinn. prEyk5

Han Li cursed, partly at his own carelessness, partly at the fact that none of his teammates have helped him even the slightest during this entire hunt. He rolled back onto his feet and readied himself to charge at her a second time.

Only to stop.

Han Li stood still, watching as the barrier repaired itself without any movement or incantation from the Crimson Witch. Not even the most powerful of witches should be able to cast magic without some form of invocation or medium. And on top of that, she had barely moved from her spot, standing there with that gleeful smile on her lips.

Something was wrong.  t6Q7JO

Suddenly, Han Li found himself reeling and wanting to use his third eye. But he held back. Biting back his apprehension and gripe about his teammates, Han Li shouted, “Hey, is it just me or something really weird’s going on here?”

“Yes, I do believe so,” Leonie was the first to answer as she swung her lance down into the ground and heaved for breath. The weapon opened up into that large umbrella-like structure, which she used as a shield to fend off aggressors. Though she replied quickly, Han Li could tell straight away that she wasn’t invested in what he had to say.

Better than that fucker Trevor who cackled like a hysterical hyena, “Why are you just stating the obvious? The Merrivan is taking a piss, isn’t he?”

Oscar merely clicked his tongue. “Just focus on your job and stop fucking around.” WAvsGF

Why did Han Li expect anything different?

He had enough. Fuck protocol, fuck everything. It wasn’t like they were keeping tabs on him anyway. Quietly, Han Li put himself in a darker corner of the church, away from the fray. He closed his eyes and tugged on that bubbling rage that sat below his belly. Han Li removed the magical artifact around his neck.

A black eye peeled open on his forehead.

Except, it revealed…a mess. rMwfvc

Han Li cursed, feeling suddenly dizzy. All the spiritual auras that usually lingered in the air seemed strange and blurred.

It was then that he noticed the bright glow of runes that were etched around the perimeter. Oh right, that.

Without anyone else noticing, Han Li slipped out from the fray.

Valtteri was just camping.

Minding his own business on the church’s rooftop. They had blown holes into the windows and roof earlier, giving Valtteri plenty of opportunities to snipe from the comforts of his little spot, far from the fray.

Was he a stellar sniper? Heck, no. But as long as it didn’t seem like the rest of the guys were struggling, Valtteri didn’t particularly feel a need to do anything differently. So he gazed down from his lofty spot on the rooftop— only to jump like an idiot when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

“Sorry, it’s just me.” LaKBAc

Valtteri almost suffered the tragic fate of biting off his own damn tongue but luckily that didn’t happen. When he looked up, he realized it was only Han Li, that NUM kid that was supposed to be their vanguard, staring down at him with three dark eyes. “Why…did you have to show up so suddenly…?” he sighed in complaint.

Wait.

Valtteri quickly snapped his gaze back at Han Li. This time his eye went directly toward the black eye at the center of his forehead. “You— that— You have a third eye—“

Han Li blinked, suddenly feeling extremely self-conscious. He refrained from reaching up to hide his third eye and tried to shrug off his anxieties as always. “Erm, yeah about that. Are you the one that set up the weird perception-altering spell around the church? Can you please…take that down for a sec? I kind of want to get a better look at the Crimson Witch.” 51vLC

Valtteri blinked once then twice and Han Li really thought the guy was going to say no. He really didn’t expect the scout to suddenly leap up and grasp Han Li’s shoulders. Han Li had never heard the guy sound so excited before. “That’s a brilliant idea! Why didn’t we do this earlier!?”

‘Why didn’t we do this earlier—!?’ Han Li could almost scream. Of course, no one else would want to…!

He felt his smile twitch. But Valtteri was so honest in his excitement that the half-demon didn’t say anything, watching the scout draw digital runes on his wristband. With a brief incantation, the spell around the church began to dissipate.

  2. Okay, I like Valtteri. If you kill him I will… steal Han Li?

    Thanks fir the chapter 🍆🍆

  3. Han Li’s about to discover some(one)thing big, and it reaaaally might be a good moment for a big-bang entrance of the certain Saint…

Really, Valtteri should survive, he is the least annoying out of the team. Don’t kill Valtteri, give him a chance to find a husband! And Leonie, giving your name to a witch is a very dumb thing to do, she can use it later.

    Thank you for the chapter!!

  4. if, at this point, Han Li and the Crimson Witch are fighting and Assholey shows up, who will save? His long lost love? or his new, maybe love? Will his decision be hard even if she’s evil? Or was she already evil and that’s why she was sealed up?

    thanks for the chapter <3

  5. This team is… Can it even beconsideted a team :/

I honestly can’t wait for the angst that comes with Graham having to leave his old lover go and falling in love with Han li… hehe
