The Black Saint is My StalkerCh58 - Call me noona

‘Han Li, fall back!’

It wasn’t as though Han Li didn’t register the commander’s words. Hfilpn

He did. He truly did but he wasn’t really thinking things through. Must have been the miasma, getting to his head. A venomed claw came to his left, Han Li blocked it with Weian’s silver edge. Something was throbbing in his skull, likely his own pulse fueled by a tingling sensation that was without a name.

Han Li wet his lips.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

“Han Li,” Graham’s voice was sharp and steady, even as the saint descended with a downward cleave. Clarent caught the demon’s arm, the silver blade fell upon the narrow gap between armored scales with pinpoint precision. Black blood oozed. The lord made a sharp hissing noise, the serpents in her hair striking at the Saint of Eternity.

“I’m fine,” Han Li hissed through gritted teeth, pulling out a talisman with his left hand. Lightning sizzled and at this close range, he was able to aim his attack at the striking snakes that slithered about in the lord’s hair. “I can still hold on for a bit longer.” WZ OQC

The Saint of Eternity took advantage, with the serpents held by Han Li’s crackling spell. He was able to slice even further into the lord’s arm.

She shrieked, flailing her massive serpent’s tail in a wide arc, simultaneously pushing back both Graham and Han Li.

The two hunters stood side by side. Han Li’s grip around his blade tightened. His vision was narrowing along with that painful blaring sound in the back of his ears. Han Li bit down on his bottom lip hard enough to draw blood.

‘Han Li…’ Seoyun sighed, dancing with her fan to puppet her summoned spirits. Her ritual was, unfortunately, clumsy as thoughts churned in her mind. It wasn’t that she was exasperated or even angry that Han Li did not follow her instruction. She wasn’t blind to the situation either; the boy was a stellar vanguard and who did his job enabling his partner. It made dealing with the lord much easier for Graham.

It didn’t mean that the issue was one to ignore either. For Han Li’s movements grew more erratic with each step, each swipe of a sword. That gleaming twinkle in his eyes changed from focus to madness.

Seoyun watched her two fellow hunters as they clashed with the red-haloed demon lord. In the midst of battle, Graham’s resolve was ironclad as he marched onward with the sole intention of smiting his foe.

The mall rumbled as the three dueled, exchanging blows and blood. The building’s foundations trembled at its core. The walls were coming apart; the glass atrium shattered above, drawing patterned shadows as sunlight filtered through.

But Jong Seoyun personally found it difficult to stomach such a situation. She didn’t want to. She couldn’t.

Han Li’s eyes bore that telling ruby glow, his lips slowly stretched into a smirk, revealing fanged teeth. The ring that hung from the silver chain around his neck was burning a hole through his skin but he didn’t care. It also couldn’t stop him, not fully. HzLmRA

The fire in his heart grew exponentially and the odd tingling in his chest blossomed into lust. A lust for bloodshed. He chased after his foe with reckless abandon, uncaring if the powerful tail crashed into his thigh, or the venomous claws grazed his skin. His role as a vanguard was discarded as Han Li’s thoughts were clouded by frenzy.

The lord hissed and brandished her pointed claws. The venom that dripped from their tips became more vibrant in its vermillion hue, flowing freely with a strong stench of miasma. Han Li didn’t so much as care about this development, rushing in without a single regard for his safety.

That was until he was rudely jerked back. Weak spirits passed through him and Han Li found himself momentarily stunned, allowing a dainty body to ram against his ribs.

Han Li was knocked off balance, a flare of anger roared in his veins and he twisted towards this offensive new opponent with Weian raised— Only to jolt when he realized that it was in fact the commander who had so rudely slammed into him. cM8u Z

It was at that moment that things spiraled out of control. A poisoned claw came down and Han Li had been too shocked to react in time, only flinching when he saw the bright glint of venom that splayed towards him.

And Seoyun did them no favors, or at least none to herself when she shoved him out of the way, shouldering the brunt of the attack as claws tore through her fan and came down on her arm.

Graham was fast after the lord with Clarent shining bright. An arc of light came into the demon lord’s neck, causing viscous blood to gush out like a broken fountain.

Han Li moved Seoyun out of the way with a shove, discarding Weian in favor of using his bare hands, claws in place of fingernails. He caught the lord’s wavy black tresses, snakes and all, uncaring of the brandished fangs and incessant hissing. The demon screeched a terrible sound but Han Li pulled with all his might while Clarent sliced through muscle, tendon, and bone. SJKjeR

The lord’s head is cleaved right off. Han Li tossed the shrieking thing to the ground, before mercilessly stomping on it with the heel of his boot.

The body too was not done flailing, long arms clawing blindly while a black tail flicked back and forth. Graham kicked the torso down before raising Clarent high. The lord’s body was hacked into pieces, meaty chunks littered the floor, twitching in a pool of blackened blood. It wasn’t long before the solid bits began to melt into liquid and the entire body was reduced to a gooey substance that coated the floor. Even the enormous serpent that had since laid without movement slowly disintegrated into the blackened tar.

The lord was returned to its realm.

Han Li’s shoulders heaved, still fighting against the ringing in his mind. But he recalled something, a sharp feeling that ebbed at the madness and reminded him of a matter of importance. He cursed, snapping out of his daze as he rushed towards Seoyun, who was lying on the ground, unmoving. kDqCSt

“Fuck!” He tried to prop her up and check her vitals. She was alive but just barely. There was light upon her brow, where her false third eye glowed but it was dimming. She had tied a piece of her shirt around her bloodied arm, which had swollen into a giant, red, pulsing thing. Whatever was in the poison, it was wreaking havoc on the limb as well as the rest of her body. A shadow fell over Han Li and he recognized Graham’s boots.

“It needs to be severed,” Graham said, with that sharp, stoic voice of his.

Han Li paled with understanding.

“Hold her down.” AQd45C

“O-okay.”

Graham sheathed his sword and took out a knife from his coat. He was quick to work through the flesh of Seoyun’s arm.

Han Li held her, his grip tightening as she jolted, breaking out of unconsciousness with a blood-curdling scream.

They wiped her sweat and bandaged up the bloodied stump with bits of cloth; whatever they could find that still seemed clean. Graham used his divine powers to cleanse her of any lingering miasma and it wasn’t the best, but they did everything that they could. Her black hair laid around her, messy and knotted with filth. Color was drained from her face, darkness gathering beneath her eyes. It seemed as though death might claim her at any moment. 61TLoJ

Seoyun’s breath was staggered, her skin damp and feverish to touch. Han Li tended to her while Graham excused himself, making a report or something with higher-ups that Han Li wasn’t privy to. He used a cloth to dab Seoyun’s forehead and pressed his cooler hand against her neck.

A dark well of emotions churned in Han Li’s gut and he couldn’t tell if it was anger or sadness. Why did Seoyun jump out? Why did Seoyun hold him back? Han Li was so angry that she took the blow for him. If it had been him then there was a good chance he wouldn’t have suffered nearly as much damage, thanks to his demonic disposition.

He gritted his teeth, aggressively dabbing away at her brow, hoping that they could bring her back alive.

She blinked up at him with bleary eyes, her head resting on a makeshift pillow made with random articles of clothing found in the mall. Sunlight beamed down through the atrium, illuminating her ghastly visage. “Kwangmin?” she breathed, “Kwangmin, you’re safe.” uSskhp

Han Li’s lips pulled taut, unsure of what to do or say.

“I’m glad you’re safe, Kwangmin. Let’s go home, Mom misses you. Dad too,” she mumbled, lashes fluttering as she fought the drowsiness.

“I— you shouldn’t talk right now,” Han Li said awkwardly.

Seoyun drew in a deep breath, “Call me noona.” TyqcWL

“…” Han Li frowned. He cleared his throat first because fumbling over the foreign word, “Noona…”

A soft smile pulled at her lips. She sighed, her voice forlorn, “Don’t worry, this time noona will protect you properly. You don’t have to worry about a thing…”

Han Li couldn’t help but scowl at her. “You’re rambling…” he mumbled. Somehow, this only served to make her smile widen.

  1. Oh my gosh. You’ve out done yourself. The gore and sadness! I’mma cry over in a corner now for that noona! Waaaah!!

  2. Another great battle. They’ve literaly butchered the Demon Lord. Let’s hope Seoyun survives loosing her arm. And I guess it’s not yet the time for Han Li to raise to the next level of his demonic existance.

    Thank you for the chapter!!!

(I must be a real b*itch, not even sad for Seoyun… I should reflect on myself ? but i kinda love when battles don’t end with “every good one is fine, every evil one is down”, of course there are casualties)
