Translator's Note

Nainai = paternal grandma. I kept it in its Chinese form because paternal/maternal lineages are distinguished very clearly in the language. It’ll be used whenever it comes up in dialogue.

Translator's Note

Yeye = paternal grandpa

Translator's Note

He uses the sentence ending modifier 嘛 (ma), which drags out the sentence and implicitly asks the other person to agree with the speaker. Not to be confused with 吗 (ma), the sentence ending modifier that shifts the statement into a question. It’s very contextual and there’s no good equivalent for it in English so I made do with a “~”. When kids do it, it’s cute. When grown men do it, it’s not that cute anymore.

Translator's Note

He means female friends, not actual sisters.

Translator's Note

家、公司,两点一线: basically means the only thing his life revolves around is going to work, then going home.

  1. 7 years is way too long though 😭 I would expect Qi’an to at least try to keep contact with him. Like after graduating and shit. What has the man been up to leaving his poor bubu alone for 7 years 😭😭💔
