Story of Another UsCh30 - Almost Like A Date

Sebi smiled widely. “Neco!”

Necomir had his hair up in a ponytail while wearing the training uniform. He was a lot taller than Behroze, and with his overly proud way of staring down at someone without bowing his head, he overshadowed the president by a lot. x2G9FI

“Cousin, aren’t you busy?” Behroze continued to smile. “I can help Sebi, it’s no big deal.”

“He’s a hatchling I’m raising, I’ll handle it,” Necomir mindlessly mumbled as he pushed past his cousin, who stared at him, speechless of his behavior.

Behroze realized this was a scene he never expected to see from this stony, rock-hearted cousin of his. Thus, he could only smile mischievously as he stood at the side and watched curiously, popcorn only the thing he lacked as a spectator.

“Neco, you even know how to use this?” Sebi asked, looking over his shoulder as Necomir stood behind him. 6WYh3m

“Mn, it’s very simple,” he hummed as he suddenly grabbed Sebi’s shoulders and made him face the target. “Now, lift your bow.”

Sebi clumsily aimed, his body severely uncomfortable as he struggled to pull back the hard, deadly string that could launch a quick, powerful blow all packed within a slender arrow.

“Your back should be straight,” Necomir instructed, patting his lower back. “Your arms should be firm, and your shoulders should be relaxed… Mind your feet…” Necomir adjusted Sebi’s archer’s position until it looked proper. “There. Now, try to shoot.”

Sebi pursed his lips, feeling a bit itchy because Necomir’s hands were on his waist. He tried his best to ignore his presence and focus on the target a few meters away.

When Sebi let go of the arrow, he knew it wouldn’t hit properly. He suddenly got sneaky and deliberately controlled the arrow’s direction.

The moment the arrow landed perfectly in the center, Sebi looked at Necomir with a timid smile.

“You definitely cheated,” Necomir chuckled as he messed up the sneaky hatchling’s hair.

“Sorry,” Sebi laughed brightly. “I didn’t want to be embarrassed.” 7x1B6Z

“It’s not that bad,” Necomir shrugged as he took out a knife, tossed it in the air and threw it at the target. Sebi gaped in awe as the blade reached the center of the target so naturally.

“When you’re out in the world and you need to fight for your life, there will be no distinction between actual ability and cheating.”

Sebi nodded vigorously, eyes shining as he stared up at the man.

“Baby, you suck at this.” hHV8tv

“Who are you calling baby?! And so what! It’s just a gun!” Misharu shouted in irritation as he pushed Akhenaten away.

“You said it yourself. If you had a gun, Tyrranus Armant would have went down before he did anything,” Akhenaten teased.

Misharu perked his head to the side. “What do you mean?”

“Our members can try throwing weapons at you, then let’s see if you can dodge it,” Behroze suggested. “How does that sound?” qrLAjm

Sebi’s mouth dropped open upon hearing the proposal and he looked at Necomir in dissatisfaction.

“Neco… tell your cousin that’s dangerous. Misharu will get injured,” he telepathically told Necomir, who flinched in surprise as he looked at him when he heard his voice in his mind. He nodded then looked up to Behroze.

“Hey, don’t get too excited,” Necomir called out. “Misharu Tsai isn’t like us.”

Despite his intentions of stopping something potentially dangerous from happening to Misharu, Necomir sounded condescending. Misharu was quick to take offense, and he shouted, “Of course I’m not like you boors! Don’t look down on me! I can kill everyone inside this place so you better fucking respect me–” u4dJsP

Akhenaten suddenly took Misharu’s hand and attempted to calm him down. “Alright, no one is better than you here–”

“Then, I challenge you,” Behroze smirked, his aura suddenly changing from easygoing to something a bit… darker.

“Let’s just calm down, alright?” Sebi finally intervened, feeling a bit nervous as he gazed at the president who was leaking with provoking energy. “This is just a booth, there is no need to– Neco!”

Necomir glanced at him innocently after loading three arrows into the bow.  5IulXC

“Shut up, Decebal,” Misharu smiled in that familiar sinister way of his. “This fucker asked for death, I’ll give it to him.”

Sebi felt an incoming headache. “I’m pretty sure that’s not what he said–”

“Don’t worry, Decebal Yan,” Behroze waved his hand as he walked in front of the target. “It’s my ability. I’ll do it first.”

Necomir stepped in front of Sebi and suddenly shot. Three arrows moved swiftly through the air, the force he inserted making them whizz like missiles. If it was a head in place of the target, Sebi swore it would have been detached from the body and ruthlessly flew away. d2jYMs

When Sebi blinked, the arrows were suddenly inside Behroze’s hands.

Misharu gasped. “How…?”

“Super speed,” Behroze said smugly.

Sebi nodded, impressed to find that there was someone within Necomir’s ability range who was as good as him. 8u9S0v

“I won’t lose to you!” Misharu eagerly shouted as he rushed towards the front of a target. “Hurry up! Shoot me–”

In a blur of motion, Necomir rapidly shot two arrows before Misharu could even do something. The speed of him doing this was a surefire way to kill Misharu especially because it didn’t give Akhenaten and Sebi enough time to react and help, if not for Behroze suddenly dashing in to interfere.

With his own eyes, Sebi saw him move in a rapid blur of motion that he had not seen earlier.

Behroze chuckled as he threw back the arrows that he had caught to Necomir. Misharu was still standing in front of the target, confused at how fast things happened. 4wyi2Q

“That’s what you get for being arrogant,” Necomir mumbled as he caught the arrows, giving Misharu a smug look. It was obvious that he still didn’t like him after everything that he had done.

Red energy surrounded Misharu’s head as he angrily attacked Necomir.

Before Misharu could do anything, Akhenaten zoomed in and picked him up, the same way that night during the attack.

“Let go of me!” Misharu shrieked as he struggled against his hold. 5dT7U3

“President, Necomir! I’ll just take this kitten out for a walk,” Akhenaten grinned cheekily with a wink as he took Misharu out of the tent.

“That was amusing,” Behroze mused. “Anyway, isn’t Decebal a telekinetic? Does he want to–” He was startled when he found that he was left alone. Necomir and Sebi who were supposed to be there with him also disappeared.

Sebi, who had been swiftly dragged out of the booth, looked up in confusion at Necomir. “Neco, isn’t it rude to leave the president behind like that?”

“He’s annoying,” Necomir dismissively said. “I’d rather take you to eat. What do you want to try?” jGuvRk

It’s almost… like a date…

Sebi’s heart immediately fluttered, but he quickly scolded himself for thinking such things.

After weeks of being in this universe, Sebi has a good understanding of the kind of person that Necomir was. He’s easily bored and wasn’t afraid to blatantly show disinterest, but when something does pique his curiosity, he’s passionate and lively. As a person he wanted to beat, Necomir was specifically vibrant around Sebi, especially after they have matured away from their childhood hostility.

While exploring the several booths prepared for the day, Necomir and Sebi gained a lot of attention. Necomir was the one who attracted the most eyes, especially since his training uniform exposed more of what was usually seen. Men and women around them gawked at his good looks and his well-sculpted arms with skin that had a rich, healthy glow under the sun. His long hair also gave him the look of someone detached from worldly matters and only cared for warfare, like a god of war on earth. oRW9su

But despite all this, Necomir looked bored and only showed enthusiasm when stuffing Sebi’s hands with food.

“I’m going to get fat at this rate,” Sebi complained as he struck a potato with a stick in his box then put it in his mouth.

“Hatchlings have no right to complain,” Necomir said. “You need all the sustenance you can get so you can grow bigger and taller.”

Sebi made a face when Necomir wasn’t looking. “Then what will you do if I surpass your height!” ydfWxA

Necomir stopped and suddenly towered over Sebi. He stooped down, eyes narrowed as he answered, “Don’t be so confident with what-ifs. Make sure you reach it first. Let’s talk it over once you do. For now, forget it.”

Sebi’s face turned red from anger and fluster as he kicked Necomir to vent. The taller simply avoided him with his long legs, smirking at him.

“You’re a bully!” Sebi cried out. Necomir glanced at him and smirked even wider, satisfied with the cute little pissed expression across his face.

“Weren’t you the one who was willing to let me bully you so we can be friends?” Necomir teased him. vuptUi

Sebi pouted. “Whatever, don’t talk to me.”

Necomir blinked. He fell silent and watched the shorter man keep on pouting. Thinking that it wasn’t good to let him sulk in silence, he leaned over, his face dangerously close to Sebi.

Sebi quickly felt surprised and gasped. “W- What do you think are you doing?!”

“Looking at your pouting face,” Necomir nonchalantly said as he leaned away. 3zJvSi

“For what!”

Necomir hummed as he seemed to think about it.

“Satisfaction?”

Sebi felt angry again! DpMTLR

I’m thinking about writing longer chapters and then posting them once a week… I realized we’re hitting Chapter 30 already but the pacing is kind of slow…

  1. This chapter was cute! Instead of almost like a date, it is a date, and you can’t tell me otherwise.

I’m liking the story so far, their interactions are cute, except when that cousin dude tried to harm one of MC’s friends… Obvious judgemental eyes.

You should take your time to write, if you feel like it’s too slow, then adjust it to your own pace. It isn’t like someone here never read a slow paced romance, the slowest romance i read had the ML introduced in the latest chapters, and then their love just blommed. So, take your time to write and take care of yourself.

Thank you for the chapter! <3
