Story of Another UsCh29 - Freshmen Welcoming Day

The terrorist attack didn’t stop the Academy of New Humanitarian Sciences from conducting a large event.

Especially if the event was something for the whole student body. uJjxZd

So, a week after the attack, the Academy held this year’s Freshmen Welcoming Day. It served to introduce the new students to the lifestyle, system, and organizations within the academy, but it was also an opportunity for the higher years to socialize.

But this proves to be difficult, as all of Sebi’s friends were involved in various clubs. Necomir was part of the Weapons Guild with Akhenaten, while Chunmi and Bellona were in the Builders Guild. Even Alexandra who found it difficult to mix in at first was busy preparing to do a showcase for the Elementals Guild.

Sebi was considering tagging along with his fellow anthropology majors who invited him to hang out with them when he suddenly heard someone call out to him.

“Decebal Yan!” Z2anYc

Sebi turned around and yelped when he was suddenly forced with something big and fluffy.

“Misharu?” Sebi said when he saw Misharu standing in front of him, arms crossed and impatient. He squeezed the thing in his arms and tried to turn it around with much difficulty. Eventually, he realized that it was a massive teddy bear that was almost his height.

“Is this necessary?” Sebi was helpless. Misharu was an idiot and he didn’t know how to deal with him.

“You looked like a lost child so I gave you a bear,” Misharu boredly said. “Just hide it in your infinite bag then let’s go.”

Sebi’s eyes suddenly sparkled as he glanced at Misharu like he was his hero. He finally had a comrade today!

“But I don’t have an infinite bag.” Infinite bags were little bags but can contain several items even though they are bigger than the physical bag. It was a new technology that was too expensive for Sebi.

Misharu rolled his eyes and took off the small leather bag that slung over his shoulder. He tossed it to Sebi and dismissively said, “Stuff it in there and hurry.”

Sebi had principles but abusing the rich without a guilty conscience has become an exception after pondering over it. g8xtYf

Once he had stuffed the bear inside the bag, Misharu haughtily turned around and dragged him towards the sprawling Sundry Field, where the guilds had their booths propped up.

During this time, it was too early for anything. Everyone was still rushing about and preparing their booths. According to the schedule, everyone should proceed to the Student Covered Court where the opening program will take place.

Although the program was only mandatory for freshmen, Misharu dragged Sebi there.

“You’re still ignorant about lots of things, so you need to attend,” Misharu told him off when Sebi showed a bit of unwillingness. BugDak

With much reluctance, Sebi let Misharu drag him to the court just in time for the program. The audience wasn’t organized among year levels and everyone could sit wherever they wanted. The two sat down among a couple of freshmen since it was the only area with a few more seats available close by.

As students who have made it to the gossip forums, Misharu and Sebi were subjects of curious glances from the people around them. Sebi was ignorant to their thoughts as someone who has exercised restraint from looking into people’s brains for fun, but Misharu was the exact opposite.

“Decebal Yan looks very cute in person!”

“His skin! So clear! Too unrealistic!” 0ALdH3

“Didn’t Misharu Tsai hate Decebal Yan…”

“Why does Misharu Tsai wear a blindfold? Does he have the middle school syndrome?”

Sebi glanced at him nonchalantly before opening his lightband and pressing on Akhenaten’s name on the contacts. When Misharu saw his finger hovering on the ‘call’ button, he trembled and quickly said, “I’m calm! Fuck, who wants to see him!”

Sebi smiled smugly. “Why don’t you want to see him? Didn’t you give him a ring?”

“None of your business!” Misharu said in irritation. yR4YjB

“Then I’ll ask him–”

“No!” Misharu cried out, his lips quivering pitifully.

Sebi was amused to see him like this, but felt a bit guilty. “Alright, I was kidding. Calm down, okay? Stop listening in to other people’s minds. You can’t control everyone’s perception of you.”

Misharu grumbled under his breath, but obediently listened to Sebi. NnZ 3B

The program finally began. It was boring, even Misharu who brought Sebi along seemed to have dozed off behind his blindfold and was pretending to be attentive. Meanwhile, Sebi was well-behaved and listened carefully.

After the opening ceremony, Headmaster Juno took over and personally welcomed the freshmen. Sebi listened to her say some inspirational messages before she introduced the next speaker.

“And now, let us welcome the Academy Student Council President, Behroze Saif Aquila, for his opening remarks!”

Sebi perked up in interest. He recognized this person as Necomir’s cousin who was a year older than them. Sebi could hear lots of people around him swoon as the council president took the microphone and stood on the podium. He was relatives with Necomir, but he didn’t look like him at all. The only similarities they had were their family name, their good looks, and their proud bearing. GdtCZ

“Welcome to the Academy of New Humanitarian Sciences, freshmen,” Behroze smiled, an alluring one that immediately sent the student body on a heavenly experience.

Sebi nodded. Although President Behroze’s smile was inferior to Necomir’s, Sebi was still impressed that he found someone who could rival Necomir’s beauty.

“Fucking annoying,” Misharu mumbled, finally awake as he picked his ear and rubbed the inside because of the noise around him. “Can we leave? I want to eat something.”

“Let the president finish first, then we’ll go,” Sebi said. He was also feeling quite hungry and despite wanting to stay around to listen, he wanted to prioritize his hunger. He did eat just a little this morning, after all. aFLn8W

After the president has finished, Misharu dragged Sebi outside towards the food booths. Their mouths watered as the smell of barbecue and streetfood wafted through the air and invaded their nostrils.

“Holy shit!” Misharu cried out. “There there, those skewers first!”

Sebi’s mouth was watering. He quickly ordered for the two of them, eyes wide as he watched the owner grill.

“I’ll pay,” Sebi announced once their order was finished. H1lZyP

Misharu scowled. “Don’t you dare look down on me! Keep your stupid cash, I’m the heir of the Tsai Clan!”

Sebi, whose stupid cash mostly came from this bumbling idiot of a rich brat, was speechless as he stared at Misharu dully, slowly solidifying the impression that being an arrogant, edgy, stupid rich heir was Misharu’s distinct character design.

After eating through their skewers, Misharu dragged Sebi off again to eat a bit more. Once Sebi couldn’t swallow anything more, he took Misharu for a walk to aid digestion.

Most of the guild booths were ready by the time Sebi and Misharu came by. There were so many that even if they spent a whole day checking each one out, they wouldn’t be able to finish everything. d7KL1M

The first booth was by the Code Breaker Club. Sebi stared at the assortment of little geometrical devices and holograms of codes that made his mind whir about. Misharu was curious as he picked one code up while Sebi picked another.

“Do we get prizes if we break them?” Sebi greedily wondered.

The students manning the booth laughed. “Okay, we’ll give prizes if you do.”

Sebi had no idea how to break codes, but he eagerly made the device levitate in his hands as he moved the parts about, trying to match each side in order to break it. The students stared at the two interesting men, watching who would finish it first – if they were even able to do so. PL2zMN

While randomly twisting and turning the device, Sebi pondered over how to approach the little inscriptions on each side. They were simple mixes of numerical digits and the Latin alphabet, and Sebi had to figure out what they mean so that he’d know which side he should match.

While he was still trying to understand the inscriptions, Misharu suddenly excitedly yelled, “I’m done!”

Amazed, Sebi abandoned his device and reached over to Misharu, demanding to understand the device.

“Alright, I’ll teach you since you’re so dumb,” Misharu smiled in satisfaction as he shoved the device into Sebi’s hands and began explaining. 3KYXqx

After Misharu was fully satisfied, they moved on to the next booth.

A familiar face came up and greeted them. “Welcome to the Weapons Guild!”

Misharu raised an eyebrow. “Eh? Isn’t this that peacock of a council president?”

“Misharu, you didn’t say that telepathically,” Sebi sighed, glancing at the president who continued to smile at them despite the rude comment. 6r9kEY

“Oops, I’m sorry,” Misharu said. He was definitely not sorry.

“That’s alright,” Behroze laughed as he waved his hand. “Sophomores?”

Chrysanthemum Garden.

“Yes,” Sebi nodded. “What’s your guild about?”

Behroze looked at him and seemed to have stared at him longer than was necessary before saying, “Weapons, of course. We practice using all sorts of weapons.” bId2Op

Misharu showed interest. “Can we see?”

Behroze gestured towards the tent entrance. “Follow me, respected guests.”

The president led them inside, showing a neat, orderly area lined with racks of traditional hand weapons along with standard handguns for students.

A couple of students were already inside, crowded around someone who was effortlessly throwing knives at targets one after another. Sebi wanted to rush over and look, but Behroze led them to the other side. LbjXSu

“We have bows and arrows, knives, spears, and guns. Which do you wanna try?”

If Misharu’s eyes were exposed, they’d be sparkling for once. He rushed over to a rack and pulled out a gun.

“If I had a gun, that Tyrranus Armant would have been dead before he did anything!” Misharu haughtily said, waving it around.

Someone suddenly reached out and caught the wrist of Misharu’s hand that was holding the gun. “Only if you know how to use it.” 0yrdzp

Misharu immediately went docile right in front of Sebi’s eyes.

“A-Akhenaten!” he yelled, pulling away.

“Why are you so surprised to see me, cutie?” Akhenaten grinned flirtatiously as his hand slowly moved to hold Misharu’s hand that was holding the gun.

“N-No…” Misharu consciously mumbled, blushing as Akhenaten held his hand. Jt3Tu0

“What ‘no’? Come here and I’ll teach you.”

“I’m fine! Just–”

“If you don’t shut up, I will kiss you right here.”

“What the fuck!!! Don’t be shameless!!!” l9XP5v

Sebi couldn’t bear to watch the dramatic scene anymore and took the bow and arrow.

“Decebal Yan, do you know how to use that?” Behroze mused, watching as Sebi nocked the arrow on to the bow.

Sebi truthfully shook his head. “I honestly do not, but I want to try.”

“Then…” Behroze smiled at him, one that could send anyone’s heart racing like a starship travelling through lightyears. “Shall I teach you?” iBX6zE

Sebi gripped the weapon and was about to answer when someone suddenly approached them.

“I’ll teach him.”

  1. Do not***, touch the bean! My eyes are glued on you, Behroze. If he **daresto do something that our baby doesn’t like, i’ll be ready! Ominous tapping.

I’m glad Sebi has more friends now, even if it’s a former rival. The side CP is kind of cute, look foward to their interactions with our main couple in the future, because, maybe our main CP will need help to develop in the future.

Oh, well, Thanks for the chapter!

  2. we all know Neco is a huge walking jar of vinegar that even if (or maybe especially if) it is his cousin, he is NOT allowed to flirt with Sebi.

We also know Sebi only has eyes for Neco.

    thanks for the chapter <3
