Story of Another UsCh15 - Darkness

It wasn’t uncommon for Necomir and his team to practice for several hours. Despite Chunmi’s calm temperament and Bellona and Akhenaten’s goofiness, they were all quite ambitious and wanted to tear through the Hexagon Tournament championships.

In the middle of fighting through a simulation, Necomir suddenly froze, his golden eyes bright as they shook slightly. CkHa0L

Akhenaten was the first one to notice. He quickly stopped the simulation through his lightband and cautiously went up to his friend.

Necomir’s ability was impressive in battle with his quickness, agility, and his very efficient precognition through his clairvoyance, but sometimes he would receive very serious, longer premonitions of danger that made him like this. These premonitions only warned him about impending danger that would affect him, which were quite quick and didn’t last past ten seconds.

“Hey, what’s the hold up?” Bellona called out from across the room.

“Necomir,” Akhenaten simply said. f8okzT

Bellona and Chunmi crossed the room towards him upon noticing what was happening. But by that time, Necomir had finally moved again.

“Sorry,” he mumbled, squinting his eyes and shaking his head to bring his mind back to focus. “It’s Sebi…”

They all quickly understood what this meant. Necomir’s ability was everything about danger and how to avoid it, so it made them feel worried.

“He’s being bullied by someone,” he mumbled as he turned around to head for the door. He didn’t even question why he was receiving a premonition about someone other than himself, where he had nothing to do with it.

“Wait, we’re coming too,” Akhenaten hurriedly reached out and grabbed him by the arm.

The training uniforms were sleeveless, and it meant that Akhenaten had directly come into skin to skin contact with him. His clairvoyance wasn’t the level of efficiency as telepathy, but it was good enough for him to uncover certain things he needed to know that happened to people in the past.

Upon skin contact, Necomir was suddenly given a flashback of Akhenaten from earlier that day.

He had been on his way to his classes in the architecture building when a slender figure suddenly blocked his way. qeXFCK

“Why can’t I get into your goddamned mind?”

Akhenaten gazed at a pair of clear, soulless gray eyes.

He blinked dumbly, suddenly stricken by how beautiful this person was. His eyes were very alluring, quite magnetic the longer he stared. It took him a while to realize that this person, with his white hair, cold aura, and the significant white blindfold stuffed within his hand was actually the infamous Misharu Tsai.

“Oh,” he mumbled.  CFAG4S

Misharu raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean by ‘oh”?”

“You’re pretty cute without your blindfold,” Akhenaten shamelessly complimented him.

The white-haired man chuckled darkly. “You dare say that? Come over here.”

“I said, fucking come over here,” Misharu repeated, his eyes seemingly glowing as he exerted more effort.

Akhenaten couldn’t resist anymore. He walked over and stopped in front of Misharu. He was taller by a few inches, making him tower over him. But despite this, Misharu was the one showing an intimidating demeanor.

Reaching out, he harshly grabbed Akhenaten’s jaw. With his eyes glowing, he said, “Tell me which dormitory your little friend Decebal Yan lives.” 1mE 8o

“How do you know him?”

Misharu sneered when he still questioned him, but he still answered, “I saw him at the Ability Enhancement class. He’s quite powerful.”

“But–”

“He’s not as powerful as me though. I need to find him so that I can make sure,” Misharu’s eyes glowed with such an intensity that Akhenaten couldn’t control himself anymore and simply submitted to him. “Now tell me where his dormitory is.” 4r1oqY

After Akhenaten pointed him in the right direction, Misharu ordered him to forget everything that happened.

When the flashback ended, Necomir looked at Akhenaten with a dissatisfied gaze.

“…what?” the dork asked, tilting his head to the said. He looked a bit like a dumb husky.

“It’s impressive that you can block telepaths,” Necomir suddenly said. “But don’t be lazy and work harder. If you can block them, then block them completely. Why did you let Misharu play with you?” 7DmYEv

Akhenaten gaped at Necomir as his words triggered his suppressed memories to leak out.

“Ah! Such a cutie actually made me forget about him?” he sorrowfully said. “Not everyone gets to see his eyes, I feel so honored! Even though he’s kind of a jerk…”

“You’re the only person I know who thinks Misharu is a cutie,” Bellona laughed.

“We need to go, Decebal could be in danger,” Chunmi butted in. “Misharu is ruthless, he pushes the boundaries of telepathy. He might be challenging him.” OqhNJT

After wasting seconds of talking, Necomir and his friends were teleported by Bellona back to their dormitory. He used his ability and tracked his way to Sebi, leading them back to the User Training Facility.

“Over there!” Bellona pointed down the hallway.

A lone figure was there, levitating a few feet above the ground. Necomir and the others could sense the dense energy of his ability fluctuating in the air. It made them slightly dizzy, except for Akhenaten who quickly placed a force field around them.

“This doesn’t feel right,” Necomir said. “I need to get to him.” d2kyRK

“Then let’s go,” Akhenaten said.

The four of them approached Sebi, whose eyes were shut and he was deep inside his mind. His eyebrows were scrunched together, a thin sheet of sweat dripping down his face as he exerted effort against who they could only assume was Misharu Tsai in a distant battle of minds.

When Necomir was close enough, Akhenaten let a little opening in his shield, wide enough for him to slip his arm through. Necomir then reached out and touched Sebi’s legs.

A crazy barrage of flashbacks attacked Necomir, overloading his mind as it made him flinch back in fear, nearly toppling over the others if they hadn’t caught him. sFftHM

“What happened?” Chunmi asked worriedly.

“Sebi… he was up against Misharu,” Necomir breathed, his mind still flashing to the incomprehensive flashbacks that he had seen. “But that’s not all… There’s something else…”

Did Necomir even have the right to tell them the kind of thing haunting Sebi?

“Destroy him, destroy that human. What are you so afraid of?” cWyir5

That was definitely not Misharu. Necomir didn’t understand who that was and what they meant.

Even Sebi didn’t understand that.

Misharu was testing his ability, touching the surface of the lake and only halfway reaching the bottom. He launched psychic attacks on him, trying to either take control of his mind or break it just enough to prove a point.

Sebi was strong enough to resist his attacks, he wasn’t someone who could be easily overpowered by another telepath. UHkEmi

But midway through fighting against him, Sebi felt a force enveloped his mind.

“Destroy him, destroy that human. What are you so afraid of?”

He had no idea what it was. Sebi didn’t know if this was another one of Misharu’s tricks, or if it was something entirely different. He had to split his efforts in order to deal with two opponents.

It took him a while to realize that this thing wasn’t hindering him. b0CdGH

Rather, Sebi felt it empower him.

“Destroy him, destroy that human. What are you so afraid of?”

It kept on repeating this, and each whisper sent Sebi an exhilarating shot of energy. This was very dangerous, because Sebi was already filled with so much energy and power to sustain his ability that these excess shots of energy from the unknown source leaked out of him.

Necomir and his friends were witnesses to this leak. At first, it was only the energy fluctuating in the air. But as it grew stronger, it began to become denser and its effects also grew more serious. The walls began to shake, and there seemed to be a second possibility of an earthquake happening in the Academy because of Sebi’s ability. dMO1eK

Misharu felt this sudden strength without really knowing the kind of trouble Sebi was going through, so he smartly slithered away to think about his next move.

It left Sebi with the strange force inside of him to fight off. Even though it gave him strength, it felt very dark and chaotic. It wasn’t something he dared to tame.

Story translated by Chrysanthemum Garden.

Sebi’s resistance seemed to be strong enough. Without tapping into that energy, the thing just simply lost power as it failed to make a connection with him.

It all finally ended. oErdTR

Sebi weakly fell, gravity doing its work. Just as he expected to fall painfully to the cold ground, he felt someone easily catch him.

“Why are you always causing earthquakes, Sebi?”

He opened his groggy eyes, squinting as he made out Necomir’s handsome features looming over him.

“Neco…” Sebi called out, reaching up to touch his cheek. 8koPaf

There it was again.

Necomir froze, Sebi’s touch giving his ability fuel to act up again.

Destruction. Death. Life. Friend. Love.

I can’t lose you again. xCV1ZF

In this life, we’ll both stay.

“Au-Augustine…” Bellona called out as she peered over his shoulder to check on Sebi. “Is he okay?”

Necomir stared at Sebi, who was curled up against his chest and had fallen asleep.

“He’s tired,” he said as he hiked him up his arms again as gently as he possibly can. 2XC by

“We may need to report Misharu Tsai,” Chunmi said, her eyebrows furrowed together. “He nearly caused Decebal to leak and cause an earthquake.”

“We need to get him to the clinic first,” Akhenaten suggested.

Everyone nodded and they rushed away.
