Story of Another UsCh14 - New Enemies

“Where’s Sebi?” Necomir grumpily asked when he and his teammates met up for a practice session.

Bellona shrugged as she lifted her leg straight up and stretched it, flaunting off her flexibility. Chunmi glanced at her, seemingly nonchalant as she quickly looked away again – if not for the pink on her cheeks. 8RfO0c

“I don’t know, he went somewhere without telling me anything.”

“Help me do that against the wall!” Akhenaten eagerly said, to which Bellona grinned devilishly as she placed her evil little claws on him. She’s clearly up to no good, but Akhenaten never fails to just fail at sensing it.

“I saw him rushing towards the training facility,” Chunmi supplied, pretending to be blind to the atrocity that was about to happen. “Maybe he just wants to practice on his own.”

“He should have asked me to accompany him,” Necomir grumbled as he put his hair up into a ponytail. MFVPOt

“No need to look so scary, Augustine,” Bellona teased him. “Your Sebi just wants some alone time. Why, scared you’ll lose him again for another six years if you take your eyes off him for just a few hours?”

Necomir glared at her, but strangely felt attacked. He initially only felt like it was strange for Sebi to avoid him like the plague, but after what Bellona, he was frightened by how it actually pathetically resonated with him.

He may have not shown it, but Necomir did have a period back then when he had been in such low spirits due to Sebi getting into a coma.

Necomir’s relationship with Sebi was strange. He looked at him as a rival and often fought with him both in and out of the Hexagon, but he never felt hatred. Actually, he even felt some sort of deep understanding towards him, a twisted kind of connection where he unknowingly began putting Sebi into the center of his life.

His family was filled with military men, so Necomir had always felt an unbearable pressure over his shoulders just so he could excel. He was hardworking but hated it, because he’d always loved science over fighting.

Then Sebi came, all proud, confident, powerful and perfect.

It aroused Necomir’s innate competitiveness.

He began to train and work hard so he could match against Sebi’s level. Necomir fought against him in academics, in the Hexagon, argued with him over petty things. People think their relationship was terrible, but Necomir had a different way of looking at it. pWxZal

In a way, Sebi was like Necomir’s Sol Star.

This is why it was easy for Necomir to feel care for him, because he already held concern for him deep inside ever since such a long time ago. Alongside this, Necomir still held the competitiveness they had within their dynamic, desperate for Sebi to recover and be like the person he used to be.

“Ah! Ah! Bellona, stop!” Akhenaten suddenly screamed, like someone being slaughtered as Bellona laughed maniacally and pushed his leg upwards even more. It didn’t look that dangerous, but Akhenaten’s limbs were so stiff. Just a little bit of flexing would make him feel pain.

Sebi was happy to come over and check on her. After all, it has been a week since the last time they met. He wanted to see how she was doing, and maybe try to see if there was any progress with her mental health.

Alexandra looked quite normal, even nonchalant, when Sebi came.  DL8UQP

“Hello, Alex,” Sebi greeted her with familiarity.

She smiled at him, softness rushing over her features. “Glad you came, Decebal. Sorry I had to ask you, I suck at making friends. No one wants to talk to me, especially because of the fire.”

“Why so?” Sebi wondered.

She shook her head dismissively, looking quite forlorn as she rubbed her arms. “I don’t know, maybe because I’m not the most pleasant person to be with. Or because I’m a lunatic.” xK2dhv

“Don’t put it that way,” Sebi comforted her. “Your mental illness isn’t your fault. Besides, you’ll get better soon. Are you complying with your therapy?”

“Of course,” Alexandra said. “The doctors are amazing, they’re probably the only reason why I’m still functioning properly.”

“That’s good,” Sebi reached out and patted her shoulder. “Let’s go train?”

“Sure. That’s what we came here for, after all.” UvwPp9

Sebi had initially viewed Alexandra as a person with a cracked area in her being. Although he tried hard to see her more than that, it was quite difficult. He could see that she did have an unlikeable personality, but Sebi didn’t think that. He just thought it was her way of protecting herself, the way roses have thorns to scare away predators.

But as Sebi watched Alexandra shoot at targets with her amazing, strong flames and a rare look of enthusiasm over her features, he could see her real personality unfurling right in front of his eyes.

Alexandra was a bright, active person, reflected by the warmth and energy of her fire. She was bold, but also held a soft femininity that made her seem more concrete as a human being past her traumas in Sebi’s eyes. He could easily see that now, and it will help him treat Alexandra even better. He wished she could show other people this side of hers more frequently, he was sure they’d flock over her and realize she wasn’t so bad.

But Sebi knew that can’t be forced. He could only accompany her while she healed. ioPmzV

“Let’s have a match,” Sebi suggested as the robot aids cleared out the charred remains of the targets.

Alexandra was quick to shake her head. “You’ll get hurt.”

“I’m more capable than you think,” Sebi smiled mischievously. “Come on, it’s going to be fun.”

Sebi wanted to be good enough to go against Necomir, so this was his chance. Alexandra was filled with so much raw power, it will definitely be a challenge for him but at the same time, she was also inexperienced so Sebi didn’t feel that much pressure compared to when he went against Necomir. He can keep a steady fighting mindset. Twi97L

Alexandra was hesitant at first as she moved forward and blasted a handful of flames into Sebi’s direction. Even though she was hesitant, this blast was still packed with force. It made Sebi exert effort, thrusting his hand out and deflected the flames with his telekinesis. The flames were directed to the sides, making a breath-taking visual.

The woman looked quite surprised, initially thinking he wasn’t able to deflect her weakest blast before he quickly proved her wrong. Alexandra’s lips slowly tugged up into a smile, her veins buzzing with fire from the stimulation of a strong opponent.

“I’m very capable,” Sebi pointed out when he saw her expression.

“I can see,” Alexandra laughed excitedly. “Alright, I won’t hold back.” 34Dd1G

Alexandra has recently become one of the strongest fire users in the Academy. Her raw power was just too explosive, and not anyone could easily suppress her. There was one medical personnel tasked to fight with her routinely. She was quite a powerful molecular manipulator who could use or break molecules, usually in the air, but she could never last an hour-long session with her. Alexandra even needed to be easy with her.

But Sebi was perfectly capable of going against her. His petite face was calm and made him look quite confident despite the energy it demanded from him. It made Alexandra happy to just let go and blast fire at him without worries.

…to be honest, Sebi was indeed quite out of breath just keeping up with her. He lacked physical training so even if his ability didn’t tire him out, all the moving did.

“Alright, let’s stop here,” Alexandra finally announced once she was satisfied. “I’ve never went up against someone as good as you.” 9ZwAm3

“Don’t flatter me, I know you’re just saying that so we can spar again someday,” Sebi chuckled as he went over to his things and drank some water. Checking his watch, he was surprised to see that it was already five in the evening. They’ve been doing this for three hours already.

Sebi put his bottle down and thought about telling Alexandra that they should cooldown before they go.

“Let’s do stretches,” she beat him to it.

Sebi was about to nod, but suddenly ended up shaking his head and threw his bag over his shoulders, intending to already leave. VYJ1Bh

“Eh? Decebal?” Alexandra gave him a confused look.

“I… suddenly got an emergency,” he mumbled, blinking as he scrunched his eyebrows, seemingly deep in thought.

“Mn… Then see you later,” she faintly said, feeling that there was something wrong as she watched Sebi hurriedly leave.

Sebi also felt like there was something wrong, but this thought was suppressed by something. It was strong, and he didn’t realize it until he was alone down an isolated hallway. 3lQupw

He suddenly stopped.

Darkness clouded Sebi’s sight, but he wasn’t closing his eyes. It was someone blocking his eyesight through his mind.

“I thought you’d be a threat, but you don’t seem so keen. You’re easily manipulated, Decebal Yan.”

Sebi made a little whimper when he finally felt that familiar pressure over his mind. hj8iNV

It was similar to how he would slither into other people’s minds.

Sebi wasn’t weak. He pushed against the mind of the person assaulting him. It was as hard as a rock, unmovable, but Sebi was able to push them away and regain control of his senses.

“Impressive.”

Another wave of pressure attacked Sebi without restraint, suddenly plunging him into darkness again. nXC6AM

This finally angered him, intolerant of this intrusive behavior.

“Misharu Tsai, you better stop this.”

What’s the deal with the other guy?

Also how do they expect Sebi to be at their level when he has been asleep for 6 years?

    Thanks for the chapter! <3

  3. im glad we get to see alexandra again!! im so glad she’s enjoying herself and im glad she and sebi are sparring buddies. i didnt know sebi was necomir’s emotional support rival too… i guess it goes both ways.

what a way to say hello, misharu. i guess he’s also pretty bored bc no one can compete with him. meeting sebi should be fun for him bc then he’ll actually have a worthy opponent to train to defeat. this is giving me teru meets shigeo vibes from mp100 but this time i have no idea whether misharu or sebi is shigeo

    • when u think about it, same-sex rivalries are very gay in nature… you just get so inspired by someone’s achievements that it makes you want to do your best and go up against them and your rival just lives rent free in your mind 😂

I’m so disappointed in myself, I’ve never watched mob psycho 100 and now i need it skskskss
