I like the fact that you portrayed the husband being the one abused, because there are a lot of people who think a woman cannot abuse a man, especially if that man is a well off, so I really apreciate this point in the story
Me too! I find it ridiculous that people always portray females as the pitiful ones. Just because of societal norms we just assume that a woman has to be one being oppressed. Men are human too but due to a stigma, they are unable to express their weaknesses.
It is ridiculous. Some people are oppressive and some people are gentle and easy targets for them. That’s not gender, that’s personalities!
A lot of people think that the abused spouse only stays out of fear. That is dismissive of the people who love unconditionally, and only leave when someone else they love is hurt by it. Seems like she ruthlessly took advantage of that love until she convinced herself she had gotten everything on her own. Nasty piece of work.
