Hello everyone, I'm Fish! I started translating since I had a lot of time and wanted to share these lovely stories. I hope I can provide you guys with enjoyable reads, and if you want, you can support my reading addiction by donating (but of course, you should prioritise yourself first!).
Translator's Note
OG idiom: 只有千日做贼,没有千日防贼 – there’s only a thousand days to do theft, not a thousand days to prevent theft
Translator's Note
氪金: kè jīn – to make an in-app purchase in a game
Translator's Note
Xiao Qi (Little Seven) was previously mentioned in chapter 66
Translator's Note
蝴蝶: hú dié – butterfly
Translator's Note
坟头草盈盈 – meaning that the person was long gone.

First briefly mentioned by a player in chapter 82:
“…In her world, Chen Shen was the strongest of all the soldiers in the army and became the commander a few years after she changed her career. She was also well-versed in developing masses of organised armed forces…”
I know some people don’t like the protagonist always shining as the best, but in this case, I feel that if Ren Yifei isn’t the best, he’ll die. So, even in the coming high-end game, A Fei will probably mop the floor with these delusional people…
Thank you for the chapter!
This is a very interesting perspective! And I agree. With RYF’s character setting and circumstances, he’s kind of forced to be the best in order to survive.
I think it also helps that he’s the best in a way that’s different from the other “best” players. If he solved the instances the same way everyone else solved them but was just better than all the veterans despite being a rookie then it would read like an obvious power fantasy starred by Mary Sue.
Yes, yes, but correction Feifei won’t just mop them, he’ll clean them up and take out the whole crew like some dang trash 😂 Also I gotta feel bad for Feifei because he obviously just wants a career and a peaceful home but he’s being targeted by assassins and a pervert who smells like a bakery 🥲
Well that escalated fast.
Thank you for the update ❤️💯
I feel like the reason he didn’t want to do a high end game quite yet wasn’t because he thought he couldn’t handle it but because he thought he couldn’t 100% it. So being thrown into one isn’t a huge problem so much as an annoyance because he might break his streak.
Hahaha, can’t wait for them all to fail again >D
Thx for the ch ٩( >ヮ<)۶
I thought that the drone man drowned?
Yup, he did drown in the previous instance. However, it is likely that he had more than one ‘life’ (I think each player gets three lives when they first enter the Cape of Desolation). So, although he did die in the game, he still has another chance.
ohh thanks for explaining
A small typo
If a genus->genius is made of one percent inmate talent and ninety-nine percent hard work,…..
Good luck to Ren Yifei!
Thank you for the correction! Muuah~ (U 3 U)
Ah, yes, how dare he not die on command. A real scoundrel
I love that it’s their misattribution of both his motivation and his character that cause them to fail against him, as both are a direct result of his focus on acting. He seems non-aggressive and “naive” because his assigned characters tend in that direction; it makes him seem unworldly when he is really, seriously not. They expect a completely different focus, like solving a high-end instance, when in fact he’s just going to concentrate on getting his character right as usual. They’re only making trouble for themselves
Thank you so much for translating! <3
It would be extremely funny if in the next instance Ren Yifei pretended to be a normal player (hired killer) and joined them to catch Black Rabbit. And it would be even more diabolical if he made them suspect random NPCs to be him, so they would kill those NPCs and end up as their targets.
