1. LMAO that was a quick turnaround at the end there- Is it cause he unsealed Gluttony? Food becomes so enticing now?

   I’ve seen many people complain that this arc is dragging on for too long and can’t wait to see the next one. Or to see more of Saman and A Fei being a lovey dovey power couple. Which would be true but not completely in character yet. Also, I personally think that it’d not feel too dragged on if this arc was read continuously without waiting for updates. The story is magnificent as always and there’s just enough about the Nobody Knows world and Scarlet Witch as there is about Ren Yifei and Saman. It should be remembered that A Fei was on the monster’s side unlike past instances where he could mingle and see both players and NPCs everywhere. So we’d know nothing if all the author did was follow A Fei every time.

   This way, both stories gets a spotlight. I like it 👍 Respect for all the intricate NPC back-story and development! Can’t wait for Boss A Jin and crew’s reaction to this one XDDD

2. SSR with 100% favourability! Oh course this would be given to A Fei who successfully fulfilled their dream, but its also interesting to note that these instances are not isolated events, but would become a dream projection to the OG world.

   One of the previous paragraphs says that Sandman only has one life left and no life giving props like Nirvana.I hope he is safe in the coming chapters…🤞

4. Thank you Fish for explaining! This made the end of this instance a lot clearer and easier to understand.

   I also saw Synth’s comment — gluttony might not seem like much in furthering A Fei’s and Sandman’s relationship, but first of all: food, and secondly: Saman, according to A Fei, smells really tasty. So that would be a motivation to team up in the future.

   And Synth’s also right about the pacing of this arc. It’s done very well, and also very well translated, it’s just that I get very excited every time I see an update here, and I haven’t re-read the chapters up till now because, while I forget some details (like the unlocking of gluttony), I still remember most of it. So, confused and excited, left hanging every weekend, I get kinda impatient… Though, it’s a special joy to wait for the weekend like this.

   • Plus, we know that one of the very few pleasures that A Fei will actually splurge on is getting himself treats from the bakery. As someone who lives off the bare necessities that shows he must really like sweets. Add gluttony to the mix and I expect A Fei has turned into a total foody.
5. I’m so happy to know that what happens in the instances, the things they discover, have some real use to the worlds they’re based on! Also it makes Ren Yifei’s decision to act as a coherent part of the instance worlds even cooler. The rewards this time are really worth the low luck before, they’ll all be highly helpful in letting Ren Yifei focus on acting without concerning himself too much with base survival! Speaking of his acting, aside from his unusual mercy to Saman it’s actually true that Ren Yifei takes his characters more seriously than they took themselves—outside of his advantages as a player, that’s part of why he keeps succeeding in these instances where his characters initially failed; their wishes, abilities, and lives matter more to Ren Yifei than anything else, and few people can be so purely and wholeheartedly “themselves.” As a side note, it’s great that Saman legitimately would have contested with Ren Yifei for the ghost card if he were sure enough to literally bet his life on the guess, makes it more exciting! We love a partnership of complementary equals

   • This real world connection is another thing that supports something I’ve been thinking about for a while. It’s easy to say A Fei does as well as he does because he’s the MC and plot armor and what not, but I think there is more to it. I think A Fei might actually be doing things the right way. He’s solving the instances the way they’re designed to be solved. By integrating into the world and then understanding the problem and solving it as if he was really there. Multiple times it has pointed out that “players” are ruthless and don’t care about NPCs and usually when I read those parts it’s worded such that I get the impression that that’s a bad thing. But the NPCs are incredibly helpful if you treat them well, as A Fei has proven multiple times. And look at how easy it is to get ghost cards when you do thing A Fei’s way. They just hand themselves over! And all his good props are related to him helping the instense reach it’s best conclusion (the fan, the two he got this chapter). And the rules of the instanses in general tend favor A Fei’s method. So yeah, it really looks like A Fei found the right way to do these things.

     • A-Fei lives the instances like they’re lives, other players beat it like a video-game. So yeah, I think he does it the right way.
     • I agree! And that also might make sense of how he gets characters related to the storyline a little more often than statistically probable—once the system noticed he could do so much even with “bystander who genuinely liked grandma” it’d be happy to give him roles that would make him more engaged and keep it up, or the hardest roles to act well under greater scrutiny. If these instances are caused by ghosts’ obsessions interfering with reincarnation, then perfectly solving their obsessions could be the main goal of the system? Those who can identify the ghosts can forcefully take them away too, but it’s obvious that “favorability,” best obtained by genuinely handling their obsession, is their real power, so it should be that forcing them is far from the best way. Actually, even the fact that there’s a type of currency specifically for NPC favorability/integrating into the instance that can’t be exchanged from other currency (and, even more so, is the only way to get items from a “real world”) suggests the importance of forming this connection as well. And that ghosts can’t attack “NPCs”… As you say, there are a lot of clues from the setup alone haha
