  1. Thanks for updating. I’m happy that Meimei now knows about the universe and that there are people outside of Earth. I’m worried about him becoming weaker though. Great overall chapter! Two other things though:

First, I thought Jian Mei was in high school? Wasn’t there a time skip? I thought he was at least 17 yrs old at this time in the story… so he shouldn’t be in second year middle school anymore.

Second, when calculating the distance for interstellar travel, it’s typically in light years, parsecs, or astronomical units. I don’t think I’ve ever seen distance calculated by “star years” as that wouldn’t make any sense given the spectrum of stars and how each of them have their own lifespans. So I think the terminology to be used here is “light years.” Of course this is a fictional work but still, I think this could be corrected.

      • From my short research just now, in China, middle school seems to be broken up into two parts. And Meimei, being 17, should be in the senior part of middle school, what they also constitute as secondary school. I can see now how the word usage and sentence structure was confusing and misleading. That being the case, it was simply a translation hiccup and interpretation that made it seem like he was in his ‘second year’ of middle school instead of secondary school. All in all, I really don’t mind the school system, I only want age consistency and to be sure that we’re all on the same page.

  2. Damn if he has the phone can’t he look up cures for himself as well? It is a divine phone after all with medicines and prescriptions from different worlds

    • You opened my eyes! I originally thought Lu Xingwang would help heal him with alien technology, but he could have just used the app on the phone… However, Meimei is so used to being terminally ill, it probably didn’t even cross his mind that he can use the phone to try curing his disease

  3. I just had a thought, according to the description they’re going to be separated for a year and Meimei will have to use an interstellar message to find Lu Xingwang, but Meimei now has the obsidian, so how can they lose each other??? Did the author just deviate from the description? Not that I mind, just confused as to how this will play out

  4. I truly love this novel and the story. As stated previously, waiting and hoping this gets picked up by another translator. Always grateful for all the hard work translators do here. Thank you!

  5. Looks like Xingxing is the one who will lose contact this time.

Anyway, looks like there is no next button. Rolls up sleeves time to translate the raws!
