Synopsis

The story of autumn set against a Republican China backdrop, a period of socio-political unrest. The Chief of the Jingcheng Police Station, Jiang Yuelou, who is neither wholly good nor evil, leaves drug-smuggling criminals trembling at the sound of his name. As Jiang Yuelou tracks down an opium case, he encounters Doctor Chen Yuzhi by chance. One’s a killer, the other’s a healer.       In this first volume we don’t have too much Boss Yu and Executive Zhan moments but we have a lot , l ike really really a lot of bickering, cute, lovely and sweet moments between Jiang Yue Lou and Chen Yu Zhi ( so much more compared to the drama). This book 1 is almost entirely dedicated to the two of them. It’s all about what they thought about each other, how they interact together and we get also more background on them! And yes the “love at first sight” of our police chief is totally there! The guy was whipped for his doctor since day one 😍

      • Whew. Fortunately, the novel is HE. Because i read somewhere that BL drama can’t be HE. Only BE. So that happened to the Killer and Healer. Fortunately, Word of Honor got that special ending. Otherwise i would seclude for the later half of my life. 😭😭😭

    Did the author write this novel before or after the drama?

    I know that the novel was released after the drama…… but was it written before or after?

    The reason why I am asking is because the novel is a HE (read in the comment section 🙃) and the drama BE.

    Did the author felt bad for us fan and decide to give us a consolation present or is it “meanie” director that wants us to cry 😆

    And yes, the drama is so underrated. – I love our police man. I just love his gaze and tiny smirk 🥰

    And btw Im not the type to hate something just because it has a sad ending, in fact the show was perfect in my eyes.     I have a question about the couple Exec Zhan and Boss Yu: I wanted to know if there are more detailed sugar scenes (more BL oriented scenes) of Exec Zhan and Boss Yu in the novel than in the drama?? I really love this couple!!!!! I want to know if i would enjoy their scenes even more in the novel!!!

    and I hope the happy ending is not just for Yue luo and Yuzhi, but also for Yu and Zhan. I hope they won’t die in the novel, thereby having a happy ending with Zhan asking for Yu’s forgiveness and Yu forgiving him!!! and at the end they live together apart from others forever!!!!!

    if not this, then I hope that the writer would write several extra chapters on ZhanYu couple! (their own story, etc.)

Well now I’ll camp here….I watched the drama version and I was totally dissatisfied w/the ending cause doc Chen dies and it made me cry for a whole day I swear….how sad that Jiang lefts alone ik it’s just fantasy and not real but still it feels so frustrated I wish the story didn’t have angst ending 🪦🚶‍♀️….anyways but the plot is op and I watched the drama ig 3 times even after knowing it will hurt in the end….
