Waking up in the wee hours of the morning
Patient 203 threw off the quilt and rushed to the cubicle, where his nursing aide was sleeping soundly.
Patient 203 stared, suspicious and puzzled, at Lin Yi. He kept looking Lin Yi up and down. Patient 203 couldn’t understand it. He suspected that Lin Yi was already on to something but Lin Yi showed no intention of running away. During the day, the door of Room 203 had been wide open but Lin Yi did not run away. And now, he’d ‘accidentally’ fallen asleep but Lin Yi still didn’t run away.
He’d waited so long for this ‘new body’. He was constantly worried — worried he might not get it, worried that he might get it and then lose it and worried that something might go wrong with his ‘new body’.
