青出于蓝而胜于蓝 – Indigo pigment (靛青) is made from the indigo plant (蓼蓝), but its “blueness” is even deeper. An analogy where teaching the younger generation allows them to surpass their predecessors.

    This chapter made me love the ML to death but the MC seriously made me blow up a fuse! (/= _ =)/~┴┴

    Yes, he may be cowardly but after staying in this world for so long, he doesn’t think realistically at all. Does he really think he’ll be capable of completing all his missions if he is alone? If you decide to rely on someone, then rely on them whole-heartedly! What is this hemming and hawing and doubting them at every turn? It’s insincere, disrespectful and completely hypocritical. Grrr. Anyway, he better make up for it by selling meng and showing meticulous care.

    • I feel like MC was a very sheltered kid even before he transmigrated, who’s never played video games or read fantasy stories before. Thus, he’s not really genre savvy and doesn’t understand that he needs to level up through challenging himself. He’s still under the impression that he can level up and get to the tranportation pill to return home just by grinding pills in the tutorial zone.

      • cries bitter tears charysa-san, do you have an idea of when he will be enlightened? I will probably cough up a ton of blood by the time he does. But it’s ok. I can take it. This novel is just right. I’m quick to anger but quick to forget as well. So next time I’ll probably be squealing about what a cute wabbit the MC is.

        • The character growth of the main character in this story is really gradual done. The subtlety is very much a kudos to the skill of the author. Often times, you don’t notice the changes in the MC’s personality until you suddenly stop and compare him to the very beginning and realize just how far he’s come.

          In my personal opinion, I think Arc 3 provided the most growth to the MC, getting him out of his shell and engaging with the world, more than just blindly following ML. At the end of that arc, I think MC can be considered to have “gone native” and left behind his innocence/modern attitudes. Though, he doesn’t truly shine as an equal (or better) compared to ML until…Arc 7-8 ish, I think.

      Yes, the system will eventually manifest as an avatar. Unfortunately, from the general reader response to the original story, it seems like the system was more likable before we see its “true” face.

    Anyway, translation notes:

  12. Why do I feel like…I love the system very much….system merely doesnot like indecisiveness and is actually really good… I mean wasn’t the question supposed to be five med qi? but after the initial transaction all the other questions asked were literally free….
    When the system cant take stupidity from the MC it simply threatens the MC to do it or die..
