毒入膏肓 – Du ru gao huang, derived from the phrase 病入膏肓, the disease has attacked the vitals. This is an idiom meaning that the situation is hopeless and that one is at death’s door.

    • I was actually wondering about that part. This is how I think the author is trying to portray things.

      Pretend GYTH is a playable character in a fantasy RPG game. He has a mana pool of 600 MP, and other prodigies have 100 MP at the same level. The ultimate knowledge Great Asura Hand uses 50 MP. In this case, GYTH is using only 45 MP to use a slightly weakened Great Asura Hand. Even though he’s spamming the skill, he’s also auto-regenerating his MP.
