    But even though he had never seen a pig run, hadn’t he eaten pork? –> Even if he hadn’t eaten pork before, haven’t he seen a pig run? (idiom meaning that one should have some knowledge of common things)

      For that part, I deliberately switched the saying around because it seemed more believable for a city-boy like Gu Zuo to have already eaten pork than to have seen a living pig.

  10. The author should have thought of growth enhancement pill for Gu Zuo. LOL

    I don’t really like the trope in a romantic plot where an MC’s appearance is obviously inferior to a his/her romantic partner. It spawns insecurity.

    Anyways, this is fiction and the trope is overused in Chinese BL novels. I hope Ah Zuo will grow taller as he progresses but it seems my deduction to retain his twinkish height is a conclusion the author prefers for this kind of BL pair. It’s somehow similar to the smut novel, the Legendary Master’s Wife. I hope I am wrong.
