  4. Out of the probably hundreds (?) of danmei I’ve read by this point, I think Huo Qu might be one of my favorite characters of all time. He’s just so genuinely pure and good. 🥰

  5. the “rejecting means allowing” part made me think if there will be a papapa scene and that phrase would be used for some reason 😭 bruh really dug his own grave haha

  6. All these talk about “No mean yes” is freaking me out. The cause of thousands perhaps millions of SA all around the world. Giving bad premonition to what’s going to happen later on. Bruh….which year did the author wrote this? 1980?

    • I get why you’re concerned and honestly I do agree — especially since Huo Qu doesn’t really understand the concept of consent in the first place — but I think Yu Qinghuan is referring to consensual non-consent (which is in and of itself a tricky subject to navigate and he’s not doing a spectacular job of explaining it).

I have faith that the author won’t allow this to snowball into a sexual assault incident where Huo Qu thinks Yu Qinghuan ‘wants’ it even though he’s not consenting, but I may very well be proven wrong.

Most other works I’ve read that deal with consensual non-consent involve neurotypical characters, which is why I, in true neurotypical fashion, initially didn’t see a problem with it being here. Now that I’ve thought more about it, Huo Qu being neurodivergent definitely complicates matters.
