  20. It was nice to get the full background for this story and Ye Cang’s side of things! It definitely had a different flavor, what he notices and thinks of as important isn’t the same as what Gu Bai does and it does a great job of adding depth. I feel like the author was pretty consistent with the meta story, which is a nice bonus for these kinds of quick transmigration novels. There’s even a good reason for the way Gu Bai acted all along, it’s a very fun concept

    I found this story so long ago, it’s pretty wild that it’s actually reached the end now, especially with all the translators and editors who contributed along the way. Thank you so much to everyone who brought this story to us! <3

    I couldn’t help but notice a bit of pararel between Bai and that Mo guy who betrayed his shifu, took away the flower and then discarding his master’s feelings, eloped with some guy he met previously. There are similarities and I was wondering whether it makes Bai a hypocrite or not. In the end I decided that not really as he didn’t want to steal anything, nor wanted he to hurt the one that created him, it was also a way to stop the war if he was let go. Additonaly, he was not treated fairly nor he had any friends. In this case I’d say that he was mostly in the right?
