Don't Pick Up Boyfriends From the Trash BinCh150.3 - Raising a Big Cat in the Apocalypse (End)

For Yan Lanlan, there had been a lot of happy events in the city recently. jMtQvf

Shu Wenqing had come to the central city. This time, she was here to deliver medicine and find Yan Lanlan.

Yan Lanlan took Shu Wenqing’s hand and led her on a tour around the city, babbling that there was a sewing shop here, and a meat steamed bun shop there.

Shu Wenqing spoke very little, but she looked often into Yan Lanlan’s eyes, nodding gently when she spoke.

As they walked, the two of them came to a particular street. MJqB1R

Yan Lanlan’s eyes shifted around, and she saw a familiar figure in front of a machinery store.

As her eyes lit up, the little guide dog also turned its head her way.

Yan Lanlan exclaimed in surprise, “Is it you?!”

The little guide dog looked at her for a long time, remaining motionless until it heard her voice. Then, it took the initiative to come closer, saying gently, “It’s you, gas station little miss.”

lK36Nw

Compared to last time she’d seen the little guide dog, the guide dog was now cleaned up very well, and its injured paws had been wrapped up properly. It appeared that someone had been taking good care of it.

Yan Lanlan crouched down and asked, “Have you found your master?”

The little guide dog shook its head in a gentlemanly manner, “I was brought here by another young lady. She seems to need me very much. I have to take this young lady home safely before I continue looking for my young miss.”

Yan Lanlan had originally wanted to say something else, but she had been stunned speechless for a moment. nvLY0E

This was because she’d noticed that the little guide dog’s left eye was broken, and the light in the dog’s right eye was also significantly dimmed. It probably only provided a sliver of vision.

She couldn’t bear it and took the initiative to offer, “Do you need me to…”

But she soon heard a slightly anxious girl’s voice calling out, “Orr! Where are you!”

A girl in a red trench coat walked out of the machinery store. Looking at the way she dressed and the traces of marks that extended from her wrists, she was obviously a new human. RLdUc1

The little guide dog looked back, “Sorry, I…”

The girl gave the little guide dog no chance to explain as she picked it up and went back into the machinery store.

Yan Lanlan thought for a moment, then ultimately decided to follow them inside. Shu Wenqing followed her lead.

The little guide dog was being held up by the owner of the machinery store while politely struggling to refuse, “Miss, I’m sorry, it’s too troublesome…” nbNftk

The girl interrupted it, “Don’t talk anymore. I told you to go, so go.”

Yan Lanlan rubbed the back of her head in some embarrassment, “No, I just met it by chance, like patches of drifting duckweed…”

Shu Wenqing, however, had noticed some clues from her attitude, “Excuse me, you are?”

“Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself.” The girl said, “My name is Xu Jingyuan. I’m Orr’s friend.” Pi0x7a

Over the next hour, Xu Jingyuan told them about her life after leaving the little guide dog, Orr.

She had had a tumor in her brain from birth. The pressure of the tumor on her brain caused her eyes to become blind, so her parents had bought Orr and instructed it to remain by her side.

After disaster struck, her parents had only had enough time to take her away and had forgotten about Orr.

Later on, her father and mother had died one after another as they fled. Without the drugs controlling the tumor, it deteriorated into eye cancer. She died, then resurrected, and ever since then, she had been hunting for a living with a new human team. lQKvhs

Later on, she found Orr, who was on the verge of breaking down from damage, inside a hyena’s den during a hunt.

Orr had been in very bad shape. Its vision system had been nearly scrapped, and its cognitive system was malfunctioning.

It had forgotten is name, and its memory had regressed. In its impression, the young miss was forever eight years old. It could recognize Yan Lanlan, who it had met by chance while wandering, but it could not recognize Xu Jingyuan, who looked to be nearing 15 years old.

Xu Jingyuan couldn’t prove to it that she was Xu Jingyuan, so she simply didn’t explain any further to it. She picked it up and came to Ding Qiuyun’s city along with her team. cS4erb

She’d heard that the central city was the most technologically developed, so she took Orr here for ‘medical treatment’. Unexpectedly, Orr had run out while she was talking with the owner of the machinery story and wasn’t paying attention, then run into Yan Lanlan.

Xu Jingyuan said, “The boss checked it over. He said that it hasn’t been seriously damaged and can be repaired.”

After listening to this story, Yan Lanlan’s heart felt warm and she simply accompanied Xu Jingyuan to wait.

An hour later, the boss brought the little guide dog Orr back out. urqc7z

Orr’s eyes had been replaced with new parts, but Orr still needed to reorganize and debug its own data. As long as it was taken back to rest for two days, all of its original functions would be completely restored.

Xu Jingyuan thanked the boss several times, then reached out to pick up the little guide dog.

Please visit chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

Orr was a very independent AI. It was a little bit muddled at being carried around everywhere like this.

It kicked its legs gently and requested quite politely, “Miss, I can walk on my own.” RibCy2

Xu Jingyuan refused flatly, “No way.”

…… It had been walking alone for too long.

This time, she would walk together with it.

Yan Lanlan watched Xu Jingyuan step out of the store. ZsuHVT

The wind lifted up her long, red coat. Wrapped within was a little guide dog who still didn’t know that it had already found its owner once again.

After returning, Yan Lanlan recounted this happy story to Ding Qiuyun, who was watering the flowers, from beginning to end.

Ding Qiuyun set down the watering can and took out a small silver flask from his pocket, drinking a mouthful of alcohol, “Is Orr the reason why you insist on having the dog?

Yan Lanlan chuckled twice. day1RH

Indeed, Yan Lanlan had always wanted to have a dog after meeting Orr twice.

On her birthday a few years ago, Ding Qiuyun had brought home a small, unmutated brown puppy from somewhere unknown, and he’d even tied a tidy bow around the puppy’s neck.

The little puppy was very obedient, and it was very sticky. It never flailed when Yan Lanlan held it.

It had to be acknowledged that getting a live dog during the apocalypse was more complicated than getting a tiger. BL1lqQ

After Boss ran away, no one had dared to mention raising animals in front of Ding Qiuyun. It wasn’t until he gifted Yan Lanlan with a puppy that everyone relaxed a lot.

After cracking a few more jokes, Yan Lanlan coughed and returned to normal. She said, “Captain Ding, if Orr can find its owner, then Vice-captain Gu will definitely come back. Everyone is working hard and will definitely be able to bring him back.”

Ding Qiuyun smiled slightly and was noncommittal.

Three years ago, when his benefactor had left him, the system 061, who had turned into a black panther who kept guard by the benefactor’s side, had told him that he had left him with two more options. E On5Q

He’d said biological data was really difficult for AI to manipulate. It had only been after Gu Xinzhi died that 061 had been able to invade his weakened brain waves to preserve all of Gu Xinzhi’s memories, storing them in a memory crystal.

If Ding Qiuyun wanted Gu Xinzhi to be resurrected, then he could let him be resurrected.

Read more BL at chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

If he didn’t want to, then he could do as he liked.

Ding Qiuyun had held onto the crystal and hesitated for a long time. Finally, he’d given the right to make the decision to his team members, and asked them whether or not they wanted to do such a thing. GPMXFl

He hadn’t expected that his team members would be even more excited than he was after learning that Gu Xinzhi could be saved.

Without waiting for him to mobilize anything, everyone had already started taking action.

The photo of them with Gu Xinzhi that had been taken in the supermarket became a key prop for restoring Gu Xinzhi to life.

In the past three years, they had introduced technology that could simulate a human being. Sun Bin worked on the system, while Sun Yan looked for suitable materials. Yan Lanlan did the 3D restoration of his face and body personally, while Uncle Luo ran around everywhere to collect the rarest nano materials. rJRus2

Everyone was busy, working together towards the same goal.

Ding Qiuyun had been shocked for a long time when he saw this, but he finally figured it out, and he still found it funny and ironic.

… After all, he was the only one who’d experienced a rebirth, and the only one who remembered those things.

Now, everyone wanted Gu Xinzhi to live. They wanted to have that somewhat detestable, but cold and strong Vice-captain Gu. TsFyCW

Forget it, forget it.

As of now, everyone had already died once before. Since they were starting from scratch, then there was nothing he could say.

Yan Lanlan accompanied Ding Qiuyun for a while, then suddenly received a short message. She didn’t even say goodbye to Ding Qiuyun before running off joyfully.

Ding Qiuyun took another sip of his alcohol and thought helplessly that she’d probably gone off to accompany Shu Wenqing again. qdXjM

Forgetting her captain after having a fiance was really enough to make a person go bald.

He put the small silver flask away, then picked up the small watering can and continued to slowly water the plum blossoms.

In this eternal winter, the white plum blossoms bloomed incomparably brilliantly. They gave off a faint fragrance that could leave people intoxicated.

Not long after, Ding Qiuyun heard the sound of footsteps coming from behind him. LXkDA2

The footsteps sounded very familiar, but he was momentarily unable to place who they belonged to. However, only people from their base could come in, so he didn’t look back and continued to water the plants, “What is it?”

Instead of answering, the person who’d come over placed a slightly trembling hand on his shoulder.

Read more BL at chrysanthemumgarden (dot) com

Ding Qiuyun stilled. The watering can in his hand was still tilted, and drops of water fell, sprinkling over the backs of their feet.

The man opened his arms, wanting to pull the person in front of him into his embrace, but he carefully retracted his arms just before he was about to touch him. WUDof1

Finally, he stuffed something into Ding Qiuyun’s pocket.

Ding Qiuyun froze with surprise, then reached his hand in to feel what it was, “This is…”

“…… My controller.”

There was infinite joy and pent-up desire in his voice, “Captain Ding… in the future, please take care of your Vice-captain. Is that okay?” kPYpns

  1. MUHUHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHA! I knew it!!!

    Thanks for the chapter ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  2. Yay at least …..

Thank you for letting him live… In this arch I was so torn between whether to label Gu Xinzhi as a scum or not. I really couldn’t hate him although what he did was wrong🥲. Finnally now that he had paid his sins with his life and come back from dead they both can have a happy ending…. 061 is really nice 🥰

Thank you for the translation 💖

Looking forward to see what the next arc will be 🤩

  3. …hmpft!

I am not so happy with this ending actually.

First of all, Gu Xinzhi is now a robot, at least his body is robotic, that means he won’t age with everyone and he’ll live past everyone else.

Secondly, I am so sad for him, first he was allowed to die then he got reconstructed? Why did Ding Qiuyun change his mind? At first he didn’t want him to survive and now he says it’s okay? I wish author elaborated more…I do believe that death isn’t something to joke about so if Ding Qiuyan had the determination that he doesn’t want to be or meet with Gu Xinzhi ever again why has he forgotten about it after a few years?

Great job with translation and I don’t want to say it’s a bad ending but it just feels all sorts of wrong for me! Feel free to discuss it with me

Gu Xinzhi isn’t a machine and so he shouldn’t have to have a fate of one… I believe he should be looked at like a human more. Maybe he isn’t suitable to be with Ding Qiuyan again but giving Ding Qiuyan a controller so he could be controlled doesn’t allow him to change and learn like a human but more to be used like a tool…

In any case, I said what I think and this ending made me really really conflicted

    • For me, I feel GX shoul be feeling extremely happy to be a robot cuz as we know he was not exactly normal..Even before our MC was basically controlling GX in a certain way and I don’t think GX would care if he was human or not if he could stay with DQ. And since he has all the memories and everything, it is technically only his body that is robotic and not his mind. In GX’s case, I don’t think they will certainly use him as a tool and even when he was human, he wasn’ exactly human y’know and since the memories and feelings are intact, maybe he can act more humanish as time passes.

tbh, I particularly like this ending.

    • I also feel that DQ was always feeling conflicted because in his memory, GX killed all of his teammates and I feel DQ truly loved him but that act of his made him want to kill him. Now that the same thing hasn’t happened and CX prevented that and since all the teammates want GX to be alive, DQ can let go of his inhibitions and let him get reconstructed.

      • I agree with you, he had a chance to save him from dying the 1st time and he didn’t. It makes no sense for him to do it now without a good reason. I totally don’t feel that ending. Maybe for the sake of pitying him for all the effort he put into being a better person I would have wanted for him live otherwise these sudden change of mind has no literary effect, it just falls flat with me.

    • I think Captain Ding would never forget what Vice Captain Gu did in his past life and I don’t think he would heal from the betrayal, but as he said, he consulted his team and their answer is that they want Vice Captain Gu to be resurrected. He wanted to let his team be a part of the decision in resurrecting GX because GX had already been a big part of his team’s lives. It was not his decision alone. Since his team decided then he’ll let go of his hatred but won’t never forget. Also, it was obviously painful that Captain Ding haven’t moved on from GX. We can definitely see (or read) that Captain Ding also wants to let GX live but is conflicted with his trauma and pain he felt from the betrayal. Also, GX wants to be used as a tool for Captain Ding. He doesn’t care about him being a robot as long as Captain Ding is the one controlling him and he’s by his side. Even when he was a human, he had never thought about anything other than staying and atoning his sins as long as he’s beside Captain Ding. So, I think this is the right ending for them. I wouldn’t say the best because I couldn’t think of any other ending than this.
    • Given his sadness when GXZ died, I think he didn’t save him not because he didn’t want to, but probably because he was also thinking about the other people killed by GXZ. So when things were “evened out” after GXZ’s death, it was turned into a choice for him and the other victims together.

  4. I really love how the author will include side lesbian couples in some of the arcs! It just makes me feel happy and gay! 🏳️‍🌈

  5. I cant help but cry on this.

I think DQY really loved GXY but since GXY killed many of his team mates before, DQY decided to let him die. DQY cried so it means he still have affection to GXY in the end. When 061 gave him another option, DQY decided to gave the decision to the team. I think he was thinking that if the team wanted to save GXY then its time for him to forgive and start all over. Im glad at the conclusion of GXY giving the controller to DQY. For it shows that GXY was willing to be controllled as long as he could stay with DQY. it also shows hope that GXY could change.Thank you so much for the chapter!

  7. Ha— i went back to read an earlier chapter and feel that our CXC’s psychological quality had improved quite a lot which make me feel really happy. He can sleep by himself and show a lot more actual emotions than in earlier arc. For his haphephobia…um theoretically speak , there is no cure for this phobia though. Only manages the condition to not let it effect their daily life, and learn to not develop other types of phobia, which could be say that CXC already did very well. After all, the symptoms of haphephobia didn’t make one feel fear and disgust when touched, it was hurt. (But if author gonna let him be free from it, I would also like it though. That phobia is really a bad one)
  8. Oh my gosh! Author-sama, I knew you wouldn’t do us so dirty like that! I’m so happy for them now!

  9. Finally, I feel relief with this ending. I’ll take this. And after fully reading this arc I feel like this is ending was probably needed for Gu to be completely reborn and for everyone to openly welcome him in . As sad as it is Gu and QD needed the hug of forgiveness the tears, and Even the death to realize the love the team had and to put down the burden of the past. Ofc I can say this because of the ending. Also Gu reborn in peace 👍 also love that this arc need with them kinda together.

  10. I’m excited for the next arc now. It will probably be even harder but it will bring the otp closer and maybe put some puzzle pieces together for CXC

  11. Yay, happy end! I like that Gu Xinzhi gets a second chance. If Gu Xinzhi died died, I would also find that ending acceptable (although sad/’bad’) because it’s kind of a perfect circle; the first time, Gu Xinzhi sacrificed everyone for Ding Qiuyun, which ended up killing Ding Qiuyun and his love for him; the second time, Gu Xinzhi was the only one sacrificed for everyone, and Ding Qiuyun can begin to accept him again. But it’s a ‘bad end’ because the acceptance only comes after he’s dead ): Although the last few lines still point to a rather narrow world for Gu Xinzhi, surrounded by people who care about him, hopefully he’ll continue to learn more empathy and Ding Qiuyun and Gu Xinzhi can heal their relationship (it may not be lovers, but at least Gu Xinzhi would know what it means to truly care for Ding Qiuyun, and Ding Qiuyun would recognize the new Gu Xinzhi).

    Thanks for the chapters 💕

  12. AHHHHHHHH HUHUHU I AM SO HAPPY!!!I I- CANT DESCRIBE IT IN WORDS…ill just scream then.AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  13. Hi Xiin, are you okay?

There haven’t been any updates to your novels and we are all wondering if everything is alright with you irl. Please take care and get back to us whenever possible! ❤️

  14. Gu’s story. He killed all Ding’s friends. Ding killed himself as atonement. Gu saw his cold dead body. Time went back. Gu didn’t meet Ding yet but nightmares had been haunting him.

Things had happened and he finally realized the essence of life. But he died.

And everyone, including Ding, wanted him back. Gu was revived.

In short, everyone died once and this was their second life. I hope this time they would have a happy and fulfilling life.

  15. Hmmm, so does this imply that natural death is a thing of the past now? If someone is sick or old they can just backup their memories and get a new body, or even choose to do so at any point? GXZ should have stayed dead. He already had a complete arc. Therr is forever going to be a psychological shadow between them. Afterall, what he did wasn’t anything small. Why go through all that?

    Still enjoyed this world overall

  16. This is kinda bittersweet. At least he lived. How ironic. He is going to do his best to be human while being an android. Gu Xinzhi, definitely one of the best redemption arc in these worlds.

  17. Gu Xinzhi’s death was heartbreaking, but to me it was far more impactful than him coming back to life as a robot.. Even a revived cancerous Gu Xinzhi would have been better..

  18. Well that breaks what I liked about this arc lol.

I guess I’ll just have to write the whole arc off as completely unsuited to my tastes.

  19. its quite funny how when Vice Captain Gu was a human, he was like a robot without emotion but now that he became a robot, he became someone with a real heart. Thank you so much for this arc. wipes tears

  20. I just have some additional words to say. First of all, early in this Arc, I already expected that Gu Xinzhi will die. Even when he was still writing that long letter, I’m already expecting it. I just really did not expect that he will be an android. At most, I thought he will became a new human.

However, I like this ending. Just like how the first life, he was the only one left alive and DQY’s team and in the second life, he was the only one who died, him as a character was quite similar. When he was a human, he was like a robot who doesn’t have understanding of human emotions. But by the time he learned, he died. In the end, he became an Android with a real heart.

I don’t know why the readers assumed that GXZ will become DQY’s tool just because of a controller. The controller was just a reassurance. Its a symbolism that, back then GXZ is someone who will lose control anytime like a ticking timebomb. But he learned now. And now, he became a robot. he gave a controller to DQY. It was like his pledge. It was like giving his full trust and loyalty to DQY. Whatever happens, even if there’s another siege, he will never lose control anymore. Just like what CXC said, he’ll become GXZ who’s will to give his back to DQY.

But even with the controller, it doesn’t mean that DQY will control him. It was even a message existing in the whole novel. There are AI’s with a human heart and has more humanity than other humans such as Orr, the robot guide dog. Apart from that, the controller gave him a chance to be able to ‘die’ when DQY reach the age where death is inevitable. GXZ can be shutted down.

GXZ deserves a second chance so he was given a second chance.

I’m not the type who gives exes second chance. But second chances doesn’t always have to the with romantic relationship. Whether or not DQY will be able to love him again is another matter. But in this life, just like that Alpha dude in Arc 4, he changed. He deserve it.

  21. I actually don’t have any feels, opinions, on this arc but I do get the appeal of GX. He’s the kind of ml that is really loved in BL and if the author wasn’t keeping it realistic, if they kept the romance in fantasyland, then we will get the kind of love story that BL enthusiasts salivate for (not negative, there’s nothing wrong with it. this is just a fictional world after all). I just wanna say that I love how the author ended this arc, open ended. everyone can create their own ending, wether they became a couple or friends. I’m interested though on how the author will really end their story so I hope there’s an extra (along with the other worlds).
  22. I honestly loved this arc so much. This is scum gong regret+redemption done right. What Gu Xinzhi did was in another life, and the solution was for him to change his yandere thinking, work with his teammates, and realize exactly what he did wrong, repent, and become a better person. I never expected that I would enjoy a wife-chasing crematorium like this, but I 100% did.

And I absolutely love that, in the end DQY left the decision to his teammates, and also didn’t decide to resurrect GXZ when he had the chance. I think that it was the best ending.
