I know its easier to sympathize with YY because his situation is more relatable. But I find LX’s situation to be happening in real life too. Sure some parts are exaggerated as it is fiction however, I find that many closeted people with internalized homophobia tend to not even know they are gay because their brain subconsciously reject that. They did not even realized that until they die. I find this most common with the older generations. Maybe that’s why people find it hard to relate with, because people are much accepting and open minded these days compare to back then. (Of course, Im not saying that this can’t happen in today’s world because it is still happening)
