  1. What a good person that LWZ, wish we could see them more often.

Thank you for the chapter ❤

  2. Kitty and Chen Wei are precious. Albeit not as precious as Wen Xi. Still… Treat them better Mo Chen!

    Thanks for the chapter~

  3. I hope he will warm up to them more as the story goes along ☺️

    Thanks for the chapter!!!

  4. Treat them better Mo Chen!

But if a sacrifice really must be made… My bets are on Kitty. Love you but you have the worst luck ¯_(ツ)_/¯

    Thanks for the chapter!!!

  5. Yea we all knew his attitude was bad to his team since the days when he was watching wen xi stream. I think the counseling for his other issues may play a role too. I do see improvement since they’re bantering about xixi and momo.

  6. I really like thisss ❤ or rather, Mo Chen’s vulnerability (?)

How to put this in words… Many MLs in many, many novels are kind of invulnerable, invincible? And not just physically, they seem to be forever unfazed emotionally, unless it’s the MC doing something they find tempting, and then they jump. papapa and all that. or tiny flashes of surprise.

The MLs also have just about zero purposeful personality flaws. purposeful because the rapist, overbearing ceo type MLs are just bad writing. Thanks for the chapter!! ❤❤

  7. I’m really loving the character development. They are not glossing over the MC’s faults and that he is not perfect. It’s good 🤩😍

  8. but I agree with Mo Chen… they were a team and yet they amounted to nothing without him… I would have been upset with them too, except I am much more vocal…

    thanks for the chapter <3

    • I agree. I would be resentful if I were Mo Chen as well! The fact that his team ranked at the absolute bottom without him would be a huge blow. Then there was probably the embarrassment of why he missed the competition. And that’s on top of the fact that he was so horribly berated and critisized after missing the competition, to the point where his fans and streamers refused/were afraid to publicly praise him. That would negatively affect anyones psyche.

I do think he could have been kinder when Lan Yan was leaving, but I would be just as angry if the situation had happened to me. It’s just nice to see him finally thawing out and moving on, and hopefully Kitty and Chen Wei will keep improving so they can pul more of their own weight.

    • I can see everyone’s position, as the low point of everyone started on top of others’ low point so they can’t save themselves. That is why Wen Xi the new addition able too and also the one most sensitive aka vulnerable choose to leave. Lan Yan had 2nd most responsibility after Mo Chen. Aside from knowing his limit, his pride must also take a blow that Wen Xi not only had the gaming talent but also that power to strengthen their cohesiveness albeit unknowingly. That is also why Lina said it is useless to get Lan Yan that don’t want to come back and they also have no need for. And also why Lina said it after Lan Yan transferred. To manage the delicate prides of everyone. Man, Lina really is awesome in psychological aspects! I hope he had more interaction with Wen Xi. It is like, Mo Chen collapsed and is resentful towards his subpar teammates, Lan Yan delicately tried to keep up while also managed the other teammates and collapsed, Kitty and Chen Wei are the subpars in everything and tbh less ego (Kitty had been killed many times and we see he rebounced quickly while Chen Wei is avoidance by nature so his gameplay and even emotional part took the same nature) but their nature also let them had no improvement and remained subpar. So everyone is on the track of self-destruction, Lina can’t do anythint coz he afraid to be the trigger that detonated one of their ego… until WenXi happened. That is it. I am glad Lan Yan went to QAQ. I think they will be the dark horse that will give the hardest obstacle to LCM later.
  9. The talk was very much needed for better character development, so that’s good!

    Thanks for the chapter! 💕

  10. Yeah, while what the manager said is indeed true and Mo Chen should treat them better, imo there should be a reason why he should do that in the first place. So he was gone for one match and they couldn’t do anything without him. Then it’s obviously that the team is Mo Chen one man show. That’s not how team sports are played. Everyone should fulfill their side or there’s literally no point in a team competition. His teammates didn’t do that at all. He said it himself. There were a lot of competitions where they could’ve shown their skills and usefulness to the team but they’ve never done that. If so no wonder he was angry and cold and disdainful of them. For him it was probably sth like only he is actually trying to win this championship and the others are not giving it their all at all. I think it’s perfectly normal for him to feel like that. Also Lan Yan, if he saw that his condition is deteriorating should’ve taken steps to rectify that but he didn’t do anything and just felt bad about himself. And it’s not just him the other two too. They should’ve done everything they could to try and better themselves after seeing how badly they are holding Mo Chen back. But until now there’s no show in the story that they’ve done that. That’s why I don’t blame Mo Chen for his actions at all. It’s only natural after all they are not playing for the fun of it but to genuinely win the championships and be number 1. All who are not prepared to put all of their efforts in it are really not needed or worth it. That’s just the reality of a career like E-Sports that only allows for a few years of play. Sorry for the essay just had to take it off my chest. On another topic let me recommend an esport novel where the players are having as much fun as they could while wrecking the competition-My teammates are all crazy is the name but unfortunately is not translated fully.
    • Exactly! Good essay, I’d give you an A lol. Truly though, Mo Chen was also abandoned in reality when he got locked in the dark toilet, his trauma triggered him to the point that he has a million lamps in his room just to function. And while he was in there, they pretty much failed the team. Other than putting Mo Chen in therapy, no one seems to have worked on rebuilding trust or bettering themselves. All the work shouldn’t be on Mo Chen!

    • Ditto! I had my essay up there too lol so won’t write a second one. But I guess that is just how it is in e-Sports where it is male dominated thus pride and ego are usually what lead to the fall and rise of the team, aside from the money politics too. I also wanted to recommend the Esports Circle’s Toxic Assembly Camp. I loved the fun writing of this one while more focusing on the dirty nature of money and business pov of eSports.

    • Yes! Seriously like, why is it Mo Chen’s job to comfort his teammates after they’re the ones who seriously let him down? He went through something traumatic and then endured a year of being hated by everyone in the gaming community, but he had to be kind and comforting to the team who couldn’t bother to step up? Maybe he wouldn’t have been so cold if Lan Yan and the others had used the incident as motivation to work harder and show Mo Chen that they could support him…

    • Finally someone rational! Actually this is my second time reading this novel and I noticed this whole episode – first time just skipped my mind I guess but this time it just irked me and I was ready to vent all my frustration and I just found this comment! You perfectly summarised all that I wanted to say about Mo Chen’s position here! He’s the captain and not calling his team out for being mediocre is the biggest encouragement he could have given them and he did that!

Secondly I would like to add that Lina doesn’t know shit about the team! Lina himself says that he doesn’t come to base often meaning he doesn’t interact with the team often which in turn means he doesn’t know how and what the team thinks of the captain! So he has no right and disposition to call out Mo Chen for being a cold and indifferent person. Lan Yan went to QAQ was his choice and his acceptance of his own deteriorating skill and captain’s fault. And overall Lina is supposed to be the person who understands everyone’s psyche but actually he’s just a pretentious (**** imagine the word urself) ……… If Lina truly understood the captain he would never even dare say a single thing to him!

That’s where Wen Xi is different you see he knows and acknowledges that Mo Chen is suffering too , he understands that as a captain Mo Chen has to maintain a strong facade and he willingly plays along with it which in turn is all the consolation that Mo Chen needs………… Lina should know that Mo Chen is already undergoing a therapy and still maintaining that strong backing for his team and in this situation nobody is entitled to call him out for not being encouraging enough………… Lina should just be the manager prim and proper don’t try and be the incompetent psychologist!

      Well here’s another essay !!

  11. CLM have great support from their Manager and Coach. Can see greater team and character development 🤗

    Thanks for the chapter 💕

  12. This situation with Mo Chen reminds me very much of Kageyama in Haikyuu. He was a great setter but he looked down on his teammates and because of it, his team struggled to act like a team. Pretty similar situation

    • The different is that Kageyama was in a top tier school teams with excellent teammates just below the level of genius. Mo Chen is the only top tier genius and unlike Kageyama that is ruthlessly abadoned by excellent teammates that know just another excellent one can lead them to winning, Mo Chen is the one to abandon them because he knows his mediocre teammates won’t be able to abandon him and will cling to him till death since without him they will hit rock bottom. Which he isn’t wrong. They all dilly dally in LCM never thinking of disbandment but also never doing anything. As seen by how their youth trainees keeps on running away, even their substitute players but the one in the regular quota? Taking it for granted. The new blood is found by Mo Chen too. Kageyama is more heartbreaking than Mo Chen situation tbh. Kageyama: the pearls isolated the half polished diamond, while Mo Chen: the diamond despised the unpolished rocks that didn’t want to be polished into other gems.
  13. I still feel bad and sad for Lan Yan. It must’ve really hurt—it must’ve felt like his friends abandoned him after they found new friends (I can relate, lol). He must’ve felt like he wasn’t needed anymore, after all he was part of the first CLM team. What really hurt was not how he was substituted, but that how easily Mo Chen cast him aside. I just wish for Lan Yan’s happiness in his new home. And Mo Chen…well it’s good that he’s changing for the better now.

    • I felt the reason Lina talk about it after is because even he felt Lan Yan had no value anymore in their team and he said it just to prevent another Lan Yan since the others had value in his eyes. How should I phrase it, without Wen Xi, even Lan Yan is beyond saving already? It is not being abandon due to new friends, Lan Yan’s feeling for LCM already long lost, grinded to dust? Even if the new player is Kitty’s level or Chen Wei’s level, which is higher than Lan Yan in CLM’s team play thus him seated in substitute bench; he will still transfer. The thing Lina said about Lan Yan willing to substitute or even go to second team, is never an option tbh because of the conflicting Lan Yan and Mo Chen level of championship desire. If Lan Yan had stayed, I will say; even if his skills are less but his desire for championship is as strong as Mo Chen. But with him transferring, I can’t say that. That is belittling YEY and MQ’s vision. Why Lan Yan transferred? It is for his future prospect. If he succeed with being tactical commander in QAQ even for a short time and let them see his insight, he can be a coach for this newly established team. He can’t even dream of this in LCM since Chen Xiao is already there and he won’t has any face to fight for the position. That is also why he asked Magic Xi’s QQ from Wen Xi, if QAQ won’t offer the coach spot, he will go into achoring. If you related with being abadon by your friends for a new friend; can you even imagine doing what Lan Yan did? Asking for help from that new friend?
  14. Wow, I agree with all of Liu Weizhe’s words towards Mo Chen. He really need to change his attitude. In Lan Yan’s case, I was so surprised that he transferred immediately after getting replaced by Wen Xi, I mean, doesn’t he have a past together with the CLM? It was like, he chose his own salvation rather than camaraderie he had with his teammate. And there was nothing wrong with that, I just wished that the author kind of indicate a conflict with Lan Yan’s transfer but the team accepted it rather easily which was a surprised to me.

    • Like dookadook’ said. With how Lan Yan and Chen Xiao analysed QAQ; Lan Yan’s real aim had to be QAQ’s coach spot. LCM already had Chen Xiao, so he had to try QAQ. He had ambition, that is why he aimed at QAQ. Captain Bunny made it to final round so many time with JY and YEEY but always got complete obliteration. While the one Kitty and Chen Wei said, the DOL team (which is 4th) isn’t even there. That is to say QAQ definitely can go further if only someone can lead them adapting strategy upon broken strategy instead of brute force upon broken strategy. Their ranking is; YEY > MQ > LCM > DOL > QAQ.. but by description QAQ might even contending MQ in players’ skills.
  15. Well, it’s not a surprise MoChen resent his team after this kind of accident. He might have felt that he is fighting alone, protecting all the teammates alone, and no one can fight along side together with him. He might feel lonely, despair , and even resent. Anyone in his shoes will feel like this. Cuz we’re human, we all have flaws. We’re not perfect. I just hope that he can change from now on. Now he has Wenxi who can fight along side together with him and he no longer need to feel helpless and despairing, he can now see his teammates with new light. And LY’s QAQ, I feel it might become the good rival in the championship. LY would surely find his suitable teammates, and be happy!!
  16. Yesss omg finally someone said it! I love how they address Ml’s cold attitude to his teammates in such a straightforward manner and ML is seriously taking it to heart. It’s not like in other stories where ML treats their friends/subordinates as garbage and people (except cannonfodder I guess) just accept it because it’s his personality etc. anyway loving this storyy yay!

  17. Liu Weizhe is so damn cool like i want to emit his vibe~~ Anyways I was really uncomfortable with the way Mo Chen talked to his teammates so Im super glad this was ad ressed in a way where the blame is not pushed to him solely and yet we acknowledge he has A Lot to work on.

    Thanks for the chapter € ^ *^)/// ~~ ♡♡♡♡♡

  18. I love it when authors take the time write MLs with flaws, realistic human traits, and realistic social relationships. Not everyone is gonna be a pure samaritan or a very blackened evil villain. A lot of us are like Mo Chen who can be cold and act a bit antagonistic towards good people just because he thinks they aren’t putting in effort, and that is okay 🙂 Mo Chen and his team can grow together 🙂

  19. Really huh?Forget ML not even one of them asks Lan Yan which team he is going?Isn’t it too cold?I’m a lil bit sour. ε-(≖д≖﹆)

  20. I understand his resentment though, he went through something terrifying and was kind of abandoned through it. And then he still had to try and carry the team afterwards. Really hard to rebuild broken trust like that, and I doubt the team did anything to rebuild it because it’s very difficult for a subordinate to push like they would need to.

  21. I don’t know how to feel about what LWZ had said to Mac. In my opinion, I think it’s the fault of both parties in this case. I have read all of the comments above, some I agree with while there are some that I disagree.

Well all I can say is that, damn, LWZ is way too cool!

  22. Agreed with lady manager! Have long been thinking that Mo Chen needs this wake up call. Hope the CLM team atmosphere gets better and better from now on. Also would like to see da Yan doing well with the gang of QAQ kids too.

  23. From a gamers perspective I understand why LW was upset at Momo. Momo always felt like his teammates were weak because they could not keep up with him. “Being mad that iron did not become steel”. Momo felt that the only person he can trust to win is himself. His teammates are being carried a lot through matches, which can get annoying tbh cuz u feel u are putting 100% but they are just doing the bare minimum. BUT this isn’t the case both CW and Kitty want to grow and they just need to be guided properly to show their true potential! Its not easy to grow. You need to give it your all and put in blood sweat n tears but it is possible! LW did a good thing to lecture Momo into cherishing his teammates because in the end they are what will help him win.

TLDR: LW did good to get mad at Momo cuz Momo got trust issues with his teammates, who tbf are not very strong but they can grow into strong players if they are guided properly to their full potential.

  24. I can’t help but understand Mo Chen though. I mean how could he not feel resentment when his team ranked in the very bottom of the competition without him? It was already like he was a one-man team considering his teammates basically couldn’t accomplish anything without him. Not to mention that after the incident he got so much hate that no one online could even mention him in a positive way without being attacked by anti-fans, and live steamers risked tanking their streams if they mentioned him. He’s spent a year being hated by the whole gaming community, yet if his teammates had been stronger they never would have fallen so far behind just because he missed one day. Idk, while I get what Liu Weizhe was saying, I don’t think Mo Chen was really in the wrong. I’d have a hard time treating my teammates well after facing such a situation. Lan Yan’s guilt/sensitivity isn’t really Mo Chen’s fault.
  25. Hmm, I understand LY a little more now however, at the end of the day, yes, while Momo may have been straight-forward and did not beat around the bush about replacing him. The way he felt that the team didn’t need him anymore after that, I also feel like the other team members played a part in him feeling this way because other than their coach speaking to him about what he would do after, no one else really spoke to him after that. Hell, like someone else said, none of his old team mates stopped him and asked him what team does he plan to join when he leaves, they didn’t ask if he’d like to go out and have a little get-together with everyone before he left— nothing. Then he left so quick behind it too, while Momo is the captain of team and I understand he would have a lot of responsibilities as such, it also feels like the team did nothing else, like talk to him, ask him how he was doing, etc. So just saying in that part about LY feeling like he does not belong in CLM I also think the rest of the old members has/had a part in that as well.

    • +1 feel bad for LY lighting a candle, to be honest it’s just one aspect of human life, like tbh what the team members were feeling right then was probably that if LY didn’t leave one of them would have to…

  27. well that just proved the point that no one is perfect, although on the outside Momo is seen as a good captain that helps his teammates, on the inside he actually despises his teammates until our amazing Xixi came along and helped him become nicer ☻

  28. Yes, he really did need that talking to, and I’m glad it happened. Obviously Mo Chen can’t suddenly change to treating them better, but hopefully with the flow of time, it will get better. Kitty and Chen Wei are precious 🥰
