  5. It’s not too good when a gong is too selfless. I hate it. They have to be selfish sometimes and need to get their priorities straight. I mean, in an apocalypse world, I don’t think just ‘surviving’ will make it worthwhile. Imagine if you were the only human left and the rest of humanity got wiped. That would be pretty f*cking boring! There’s no point in surviving like that! If you have a sweetheart, at the world’s end, the only thing that makes surviving worthwhile is if you have your lover next to you!!!

    So, Meng Feng I’m disappointed that you can even say that Liu Yan can live without him. Because obviously, while he may still live, it wouldn’t be much better off than dead.

  10. I think some people missed that Lai Jue straight up threatened Meng Feng with everyone’s lives, and so Meng Feng decided to stay behind so that everyone else could be rescued. (It’s just that it would’ve been nice if he talked about it with Liu Yan rather than keeping it all to himself and aching :<) When Liu Yan asked Meng Feng about going to the refugee center, it also sounded like Meng Feng didn’t want to just get a cushy job over there because of his father.

    I really like how the chapter ended though. Go, Liu Yan!

    Up coming “dogblood” arc is soooo unnecessary

  12. Yeah, no. Lin Yuan deserves someone better. Meng Feng is a brute with no brain. Pretty selfish too.

    • Meng Feng is definitely a brute but I think calling him brainless is harsh at best cuz so far we have definitely seen him do things that make sense and I’m curious to know what’s so terrible about Meng Feng that you think Liu Yan deserves “better”.

      • I was just pissed off at him. Well, he always decides everything by himself. Not everything. But when he went to the military, he decided by himself. When he broke up, he also decided by himself. Now, to join this squad, he also decided by himself, and to break up also. He never communicated with Liu Yan. He thinks he’s selfless in breaking up, but he is very selfish actually. Also, he has a giant inferiority complex regarding Liu Yan. And hero complex. Literally, I sometimes just wanna choke him and scream “can you just use your brain for a minute? ” He becomes even more frustrating later on.

        Liz Yan isn’t perfect either. But their relationship is kinda toxic for both of them if you think realistically.

        • Is Liz Yan suppose to be Luo Yan? if so I think your keyboard hates that name 😅. Meng Feng is really all of those things I can’t argue against that but so far from what I’ve seen personally I don’t feel like it’s that terrible to the point where they shouldn’t be together and growing up they way I think he did him being that way is actually pretty reasonable and i’m not saying it excuses his behavious but maybe cut him some slack? Ig they’re relationship is a bit toxic but it’s nothing that can’t be fixed… I think…

          P.S. I’m not saying you should like Meng Feng or anything but I quite like him as a character so I felt the need to defend him just a teeny bit. pls don’t think I’m attacking you. 😣

  13. Stop blaming the gongs in everything and read the subtexts. From what i can see Meng Feng is finally trying to make a name for himself now so that he will truly be worthy of Liu Yan plus he’s under a lot of stress, also its written there, in order for this to go further he has to harden his heart and think about their future, the love will never dies and our MC is very mature, he understands it all, both their hearts are connected afterall and i’m glad this time he will fight for him . Anyway, since i never project myself on fictional characters nor do i always takes the sides of the MC shous (not anymore) it doesn’t bother me that much apart from feeling sad about them but i know they’ll be tgt again and thats it. Meng Feng really does love Liu Yan and he tries his best, its just Liu Yan is too dominant and sometimes not gentle with him, but shows his love in a different way. Both of them needs to separate for a while to truly understands each other and strengthen their bonds even more. I cried at how much they’re both suffering, even after breaking up the first time, Meng Feng followed and protected him throughout eventhough Yan Yan can be difficult, he’s got patience..and then i’m slowly learning about Liu Yan’s innermost thoughts in detail about how much Meng Feng means to him i can feel the love all over. Yeah, from childhood friends to exes to lovers they deserve to be happy tgt. And it will happen not to worry. Relationship is not always smooth and neither of them are to blame. Out of all the danmei gongs i’ve ever known, i like this gong the best cause he’s very human and awkward, not op, has other friends aside from his shou, he’s always bullied by his lover lol but he’s still whipped, cares about other people and is respectful to women and young ones and senior citizens etc. has a temper but he’s still very much likeable, does not have a golden finger to fix everything for him, does not have plot armor( or if he does, its really subtle i couldn’t tell) is not put in a pedestal by the author( thank you Feitian gege). So yes, many other things i can’t explained but yeah i like him a lot. I like both of them and i really think Feitian is an amazing author, he really knows how to portray very realistic human characters (sometimes it does not need to be realistic cause ‘fiction’ but yeah its still always appreciated when these types shows up). And maybe its just me, but i really love reading danmei novels that is written by an actual gay man, i salute you our chicken lord. Don’t get me wrong, i love all kinds of danmei be it women writers or other men who are anonymous i never looked down on any authors and their works i simply appreciate them all, but Feitian is really special in my heart.

  16. Maybe some selfless is mix in MF judgement but I think most part of it is MF don’t want to stay at the refugee and being nobody cause his skill are not needed there. Like when they first saw each other after MF was back from his service. He minds very much about his self worth.
