        • It was only described that Mama Yu and Papa Yu worked long and hard together to get what they have, until Papa Yu lost everything and went insane, and that was when something in Mama Yu just snapped (last one is this translator personal conclusion ). I think she was just too tired to go on and left to start a new life (it also mentioned that she did not take anything from the family before disappearing). It’s kind of a hard thing to judge since I don’t know what I would do in her shoes. Stayed and hope everything will work out and I won’t have a mental breakdown, or leave before it’s too late? I know the prior one would definitely eat me away slowly because I am a petty person who hold grudges…

          • I think maybe it would have to do with perspective. If she knew that she had built something before, it can be done again, but better since you learn from mistakes? For him to come back in that state makes me feel that she wasn’t willing to try. Also, no matter how old you are, it’s devastating to have a parent leave. Furthermore, the dad loved her, and I feel that her leaving is what caused his mental breakdown. Again, I think I’m reading too much into fictional characters 😅 but I am invested in Yu Qinghuan living a happy life!

  3. Mmm, maybe im just old, but i dont think is that simple. She is a bad mom? Yeah, for sure, his stepson was in the verge of be hit by a car, but i dont think it was easy for her neather. Yu Qinghuan was probably 18 years old when she left, thats and adult, and his husband was not only broke but ill, like in the crazy kind of ill. His teacher say that she will come to ask how was Qinghuan doing when he was, because when she left he was already in the last year of high school. I think is complex character and is aufull for his son to be so alone in that shit of situacion, but it cant be say that she abandone him without a care, i think she was alone herself with much in her shoulders. And, probably, if she would want to let Qinhuan abandone papa Yu, he will be unwilling. Also is not like he couldnt pass that time, because he did.But she was a coward, i mean just tell him, “you are grow up, i cant do this anymore, i want to be happy to, so i’m just leaving both of you, dont search for me, bye and good luck”. At lest he will know for sure that he was alone, and wouldt have a empty cellphone to call. Im a abandone shild my self and my dad left when i was 5 years old and my bro was just born, so im very sensitive with this teme and i know be a monoparent family is very devastating. She left when he was capable of take care of itself so… i think every relationship would end, she just left early. I will think she is dead and go on with my life, is just that because she never say a proper goodbye, QinHuan is just mourning a litle late.

    • Yeah, this is a quite touchy subject that don’t show up often in danmei novel (you either get super nice parents or scum parents). This one definitely hit very close at home since how realistic it could be. Also, we all have shit English so you are good lol

    • I believed she left when YQH was 16, since it was said that 5 years passed since the fraud case and his mom left not long after, and in 2 years he was so addicted to esports RJ knew about him, both played at that contest and placed 1st and 2nd then YQH dissappeared for 3 years so 5 years or almost 6 years passed

  5. Child abandonment is bad nonetheless the circumstances she faced. Rather tan tanking it all and enduring with her already existing family, she ultimately decided to escape from that and start a new stable family. I won’t ever forgive her if I were YQH but I knew our bubu is too kind-hearted and understanding so in the end, he’ll probably will forgive her. Just live a happy life with your ren jian and dad instead!!

    Anyway…this mom is really complicated, I get that she wanted to leave but she gave her son the number to contact her, the least she could do was ask after him once in a while or give him your new number!! it is almost as if she was perfunctory in giving the number just for the heck of it then when she got her family she threw away everything old…..i just can’t understand that. 🙄
