Instead of every Monday and Thursday, I am temporarily releasing 1 chapter per week every weekend for now. Sorry about this everyone. I had to do this since I just couldn’t find enough time to keep on translating like I usually did as before. Well, partly because I’m currently busy with my school stuff and other things as well. Therefore, I’d be grateful for your understanding regarding these changes.

Kiki’s eyes briefly widened before she cast a sorrowful glance in Yuichiro’s direction. Yuichiro turned away from her, unwilling to look into her eyes. Let’s go,” he quickly said without turning around. “Follow me.”

“We have five enemy soldiers in front of us in 20 roths. Should we attack?” Kiki’s voice came from diagonally behind him.

Yuichiro immediately snatched the bayonet from the young enemy soldier who had been severed from his head and swung the sword attached to the gun’s tip into the left breast of the enemy soldier, who was probably the squad leader. The enemy soldier who had been stabbed in the chest immediately let out a gurgle of blood as soon as the unpleasant sensation spread to the palm of his hand. Without letting out a cry of despair, the body of the dead enemy soldier collapsed to the ground.
At the horrific sight, the last remaining enemy soldier screamed and ran to escape. But an arrow shot straight through his body. After staring in dismay at the arrow in his chest, the enemy soldier slumped over on his face. A few seconds later, a familiar voice reached Yuichiro.
“Did you really need backup?” With a stunned look on his face, Tyet leaped down from the tree’s top.
“Give me a status report,” Yuichiro commanded, wiping the blood of an enemy soldier from his cheek with the back of his hand.
“Yes, sir. As I summarize our correspondence, the number of casualties among the enemy forces is currently around 260. It is estimated that several hundred people have been injured and escaped from the forest. The number of dead in our army, together with the people of the Yellow tribe, is currently twenty-three. Forty-six of them are seriously wounded, and all of them have been sent to the rear.”
Yuichiro’s face darkened as he listened to the concise report. The losses on their end were quite significant.
“Gue-ri-lla, was it? I’ve never used a strategy like this before. I guess there are some people who would consider it unacceptable to sneak up on an enemy and attack them from behind.”

Suddenly, Tyet extended his arm. “Goddess, your face is dirty.” His not-so-large hand caressed Yuichiro’s cheek. Yuichiro’s comprehension of what was going on was delayed by the tentative touch. Tyet removed the red stain that had adhered to Yuichiro’s cheek while sporting a somewhat satisfied expression.
Yuichiro snapped out of his reverie and slowly restrained Tyet’s hand with one hand. “I don’t care about the stain.” In truth, there was no time for him to worry about getting dirty on the battlefield.
However, Tyet looked up at Yuichiro with a regretful look in his eyes. “It would be a waste of your beautiful face.”
Yuichiro was almost taken aback in surprise when he heard Tyet speak casually. Tyet’s grin broadened as he noticed Yuichiro’s narrowed eyes. Although he had a juvenile appearance due to his childlike face, there was a clear male sex appeal in his eyes.
When Yuichiro’s lips were half open, as if to say something, Kiki broke the atmosphere by speaking in a serious tone. “This is a message from Lieutenant Goat to Leader Tyet.. Don’t try to flirt at a time like this.”
Tyet shrugged his shoulders at the sound of Kiki’s officious voice. “Is your adjutant a psychic or something? Still, to denounce that I’m flirting, is a terrible thing to say…” Tyet looked up at Yuichiro as if seeking his agreement.
When Yuichiro was at a loss for a response, Kiki spoke up again. “There’s an order for you. If you have time for idle chatter, why don’t you go and hunt for the heads of as many enemy soldiers as possible?” Both Kiki’s tone and her dialogue were bared with stinginess.
At Kiki’s sharp gaze, Tyet nodded back loosely with a wry smile on his face. “Of course. Please take care, Goddess-sama. Call me if you need anything. I will come to you immediately.” He bowed his head to Yuichiro, then climbed up the tree again with nimble movements.
Soon he was out of sight. As soon as Tyet disappeared, Kiki muttered in a displeased voice, “Please be careful. That man is from the eastern tribe. They are renowned for having questionable morals and having a philandering reputation.”
“An adulterer?”
“Yes. They are an unruly tribe where bigamy is accepted and prostitution is openly practiced.”
To Kiki, who made no attempt to hide her disdain, Yuichiro asked, “How did you know that Tyet was from that tribe?”

Despite Kiki’s explanation, Yuichiro still could not believe it. Tyet, whom he had thought to be a friendly and easy to deal with subordinate, was in fact a adulterer. With a sudden feeling of discomfort, he asked Kiki, who was wearing an irritated expression on her face. “Is it true that Goat sent a message to Tyet earlier?”
At Yuichiro’s words, Kiki lowered her gaze for a moment, as if she were feeling bad about something. “No. It’s just me. Did I overdo it?”
“No, that helped,” he replied, patting Kiki on her shoulder.
The moment he did this, Kiki’s mouth broke into a smile. It was like a child being praised by his parents. However, she immediately tightened her mouth and let out a low voice.
“There is a report that enemy soldiers have been found. They are closer than here. Should we head over?”
“Un, let’s go,” Yuichiro answered shortly and tightened his grip on his blood-soaked knife.
It was about thirty minutes later that something unusual happened. Kiki suddenly stopped and held one ear in the palm of her hand. Her expression was grim.
“What’s wrong?” When he turned around and asked, Kiki replied in a puzzled voice.
“The soldier on guard sent a message. There are strange movements in the enemy camp.”
“Strange movement?”
“It seems that the troops who were waiting outside the forest are falling back.”
“Does that mean they are retreating?” When he asked her, Kiki looked troubled.
“No, they are moving too slowly for that. It’s as if they’re waiting for something—”
Before she could finish her sentence, Kiki looked up over her head with a flash. At the same time, she grabbed the sword at her left hip with her right hand. But before the sword could be withdrawn, a huge shadow fell from the tree tops. Kiki’s thin body was instantly crushed by the shadow.
At the sight of the shadow, Yuichiro shouted. “Kiki!”
